So I have accumulated over 22,000 photos and over 5000 videos. My cloud storage is close to full, which is now connected to all my email accounts Those accounts slow down or stop until more storage is purchased. I refuse to pay for more storage The Picture keeper is a great solution for me. I plan to download them to an external hard drive also. The whole process took over a week to complete. I was able to use my iPad and had to stop the transfers to charge the iPad , but it has been well worth it. After a year or so the PKBACKUP option disappeared. I purchased a new PKC & WOW- it does not work either. Still no help from the company! Now when I try to use it it tells me it’s empty. I cannot believe I wasted my money on this crap I was so eager to buy some thing like this so I could at least transfer files from my PS3 to my iPhone so that didn’t work so I tried the adapter and hooked a USB stick and got over excited and then realized this adapter piece had no iPhone hook up so don’t waste your money thinking you could Hook up a USB stick ### 3/5 — Freezes during Backup *2025-04-13, version 3.6.22* My wife gave me the Picture Keeper drive for my birthday today. Just downloaded app and inserted the drive into my Iphone. I had about 2700 pictures and videos. Backup freezes while backing up videos. There were a couple I deleted thinking it might be the video itself that was causing the freeze. I deleted 3 of them it froze on and it continued to freeze on the next ones. I gave up and deselected the video backup option in the settings. I backed up the photos and a few videos but most videos are not backed up. Strange isn't it! It also has background app refresh turned on and I could not disable it. I decided to delete the app and forget about using it. Device may be good if it worked correctly but for now I'm gonna pass. ### 3/5 — While it’s easy, it’s not great *2018-08-19* The best thing about this, you plug in the USB select to start back up and it copies your files. The worst thing about this it doesn’t save any of your file names, any of the meta-data regarding your files. For example date taken NOTspecified. This is not helpful in managing the hundreds of pictures that are taken. And who wants to set a date taken when you don’t even know when it was. Need to add this soon and then it would get five stars **Developer response:** Thanks for your feedback! I'll pass this along to our team! ### 3/5 — Not as easy as I was told *2018-06-17* Picture Keeper Connect does do the job: I’ve been able to take photos off my iPhone, which has very little storage, and transfer them to my Mac. But the instructions are simplified to the point of absurdity, and they didn’t do me much good. They also don’t really say what they mean: As far as I could figure out, for example, the word “restore” really means “save.” It took me numerous emails to the app’s help desk to get my job done. ### 4/5 — Good, but a couple minor problems *2024-11-19* If you edit a photo or video on the phone, it doesn’t add the edited one. And if you accidentally delete a photo from the drive, it won’t put it back in the drive when you next back up. Also, just a suggestion: could you please update it to where it’ll save a GIF as a GIF instead of a pic?
