## What is PieceLog?

PuzzleLog helps you keep your puzzle collection organized and track your progress.

Add puzzles with a title, manufacturer, piece count, tags, rating, notes, and photos. Start sessions, keep track of what you're currently working on, and mark completed puzzles with a matching history. That way, you always know what's still on the shelf, what's in progress, and what you've already finished.

Your wishlist is built right in: save puzzles you're interested in and move them into your collection in just a few steps.

With statistics like your total number of sessions, completed puzzles, shortest and longest session, and most-puzzled puzzles, you also get a nice overview of the time you spend puzzling.

You can also export and import your collection as a file — handy for sharing with other collectors or as an extra backup.

Features at a glance:
- Puzzle collection with status, tags, manufacturer, rating, and notes
- Photos for your puzzles
- Sessions to track your puzzle time
- Wishlist for future puzzles
- Statistics about your puzzling habits
- Export and import your collection as a file (sharing, backup)
- Multilingual: German, English, French, Spanish, Italian, Danish, Swedish, Norwegian (Bokmål), and Finnish
- Optional upgrade to PuzzleLog Pro

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.10 — 2026-08-07

Four new languages: The app is now also available in Danish, Swedish, Norwegian (Bokmål), and Finnish. If your system language isn't supported, you'll now see English instead of German as the default.

### 1.9 — 2026-07-10

Share and back up your collection: New export feature for your entire collection as a JSON file. Including cover photos. Perfect for sharing with other collectors or as an extra backup outside of iCloud. Find it in Settings → Data Management.

Import via file or clipboard: A shared collection can be imported directly or pasted from the clipboard. Puzzles you already own are automatically detected and skipped.

Refined appearance settings: Streamlined the theme picker in Settings.

### 1.8 — 2026-06-23

New in this version:

• Pause sessions: Puzzle sessions can now be paused and resumed. Only active time counts. Breaks are excluded from statistics. The widget also shows the paused status.

• Improved iCloud sync: New offline detection with a startup notice, clearer error messages for sync issues, and automatic duplicate detection after the first sync, including merge suggestions.

• App icon quick actions: Long-press the app icon to scan directly or add a new puzzle. No detours.

• Smarter time display: Statistics and CSV export now show durations in a more readable format. “2h 15m” instead of just minutes.

• Long session reminder: Forgot to stop a session? The app now gives you a gentle reminder. You can turn it off in Settings.

Happy puzzling!

### 1.7 — 2026-06-22

New in this version:

• Box Scanner: Take a photo of the puzzle box — piece count, manufacturer, dimensions, artist, EAN and more are automatically detected and filled in. Completely offline, right on your device. Available via the "+" button (long press), the toolbar or the edit screen.

• Auto Orientation: When the scanner detects dimensions, landscape or portrait is set automatically — no more manual selection needed.

• Photo Placeholder: The edit screen now shows a more inviting placeholder when no photo has been added yet.

Happy puzzling!

### 1.6 — 2026-06-21

What's new in this version:

• Borrowed Puzzles: Borrowed a puzzle from someone? You can now keep track of it — with their name, the date, and an optional return date. Borrowed puzzles stay visible in your collection and can be puzzled just like any other.

• Perspective Correction: When adding a photo, you can now correct the perspective — perfect for shots that aren't quite straight. The app automatically detects the puzzle corners and straightens the image.

• New Catalog Fields: More detail for your puzzle entries: artist, collection, release year, article number, orientation, piece shape, and whether a poster is included. Artist and collection fields support autocomplete based on your existing collection.

• CSV Export: Your entire collection can now be exported as a CSV file — for archiving, analysis, or sharing.

• Catalog Values: In Settings, "Catalog Values" now shows three tidy categories with a count badge. Each category opens its own screen for renaming or deleting entries.

• Sync Status: Settings now shows at a glance whether iCloud sync is active — with an offline indicator when there's no connection.

• New Languages: PuzzleLog is now available in French, Spanish, and Italian.

Happy puzzling!
