## What is Pierce Map App?

Welcome to Pierce.  Our spacious 426-acre campus is a great place for your education, but it may be hard to find your way when you first start attending. 

The Pierce Map App helps you get around the campus of Los Angeles Pierce College in Woodland Hills, California, U.S.A.  You can type in a room number and the app will display a small red circle at the approximate room location.  Tap on the map and a helper arrow will move to the room's building to make it more visible.  If the app does not have a record of the room, it will make a guess as to which building houses that room and  tapping the map will show that.

The helper arrow is named Rotwang (from the character in the 1927 film Metropolis) and is a red square holding a white arrow.

You may also tap the Where Am I button to display your location.  (This requires you to authorize use of iOS Location Services.)  

The app also has lists of buildings and departments on campus.  After picking one, a tap on the map will move the Rotting arrow to the appropriate building.

The info disclosure button (circle I) will open a list of information files, including How To Use, Settings, and About the app.  Please use this to learn more about the Pierce Map App.

Finally, the map can get cluttered with dots.  The trash can icon will clear those and present a clean map again.

The dark areas on the map represent construction zones as of August 2025.  These will be removed from the map someday when the buildings are opened - Remember to update the Pierce Map App regularly!
