## What is Pigree?

Pigree is the complete cavy breeding management app, built for serious breeders who want to stay organized, track lineage, and grow their herd with confidence.
Cavy Management
Add unlimited cavy profiles with everything you need: name, gender, breed, coat color and type, date of birth, photo, and a unique QR cage ID. Record parents, litter association, registration and pedigree numbers, microchip ID, acquisition details, weight, and custom tags. Mark cavies as deceased, sold, or neutered. Search your herd by name, breed, color, gender, parent name, or litter number, instantly.
Litter Management
Track every litter from planning to weaning. Record parents, breeding date, expected and actual birth dates, offspring counts, survival rates, average birth weight, and lifecycle stage. A built-in D-Day countdown shows how many days until the next expected birth, color-coded so overdue litters stand out. Toggle between list view and a full month-grid calendar showing breed dates, expected births, and actual births as color-coded dots.
Inbreeding Coefficient (COI)
Whenever you select both parents on a litter, Pigree instantly calculates Wright's coefficient of inbreeding in real time. A collapsible banner shows the severity level: distant, moderate, high, or critical. Lists all shared ancestors, and explains the formula. The family tree also displays a COI badge directly on the subject card.
Statistics & Analytics
Get a full picture of your breeding program at a glance: live cavy count, herd age distribution, male/female ratio, litters per month, survival rate, average and maximum litter size, litter size over time, birth timing accuracy, average gestation days, top 3 most active mothers and fathers, most productive pairs, and a best-month-to-breed heatmap. Breeding suggestions surface up to 5 compatible male/female pairs with low COI, new pairs shown first.
QR Codes
Generate a unique QR code for every cavy and share it as a PNG. Use the built-in scanner to instantly navigate to any cavy profile, perfect for busy breeders managing large herds.
Birth Reminders
Never miss a birth. Get notified 1 day, 3 days, 1 week before, or both 3 days and 1 day (recommended). Reminders are scheduled automatically when you set an expected birth date and cancelled when the actual birth is recorded.

Remove all limits on cavies and litters. Unlock the full 6-generation family tree with zoom, pan, color-coded lineage connectors, and generation completeness counts. Export pedigree certificates as PNG or a professional landscape PDF complete with your breeder name, contact details, and logo. Set up your breeder profile once and it appears on every export automatically. Back up all your data, including photos, to a single ZIP file and restore it anytime.

Birth reminder notifications are now more reliable. We've added a short explanation of why we ask for notification permission, both during onboarding and the first time you add a litter, so it's clear before the system prompt appears.

If you'd previously declined notification permission, you can now fix that in one tap: open Profile -> Birth Reminders and tap "Open Settings" to turn reminders back on, so you never miss an expected litter.
