The convenience of it being an app doesn’t change the fact that it gets stuck on export often, cant handle complex prints, and the docs refer to an auto support generation method that is not present in the app. No one wants to drag around and place supports for every single print. The AI features are a useless novelty marketing gimmick as it applies useless changes that dont even take effect. Hard pass. **Developer response:** I'm sorry the app didn't live up to your expectations. The export issue definitely isn't the experience I'm aiming for, and if you're able to email me with your device model and the file that gets stuck, I'd like to investigate. Complex models are supported, but performance does depend quite a bit on the device's available memory and processing power, so there are cases where older or lower-memory devices can struggle. I'm also curious about the auto support feature you mentioned. If the documentation refers to a support generation method that you couldn't find in the app, please let me know which page or section you saw - that may be outdated documentation on my end, and I'd like to fix it. The same goes for the AI features. If you can tell me which ones you tried and what changes didn't take effect, that would help me determine whether it's a bug or something that isn't working as intended. ### 3/5 — Limited but usable *2026-03-15* Can you make Gcodes? Yes. Can you edit STL files? No. Is it glitchy? Yes. Does it freeze and crash periodically? Yes. Your ability to set layer temps is nonexistent and the infill patterns are limited to 3 options. The process of editing supports is very tedious and requires practice to make it less annoying. Beware that the “autosave” isn’t really saving your work in the event of a crash…you will have to start over. Same goes for when the app freezes and you have to close the app and reopen it. It’s currently the only slicer I’m using on my iPad Pro but if the devs don’t make some tweaks that could very well change. That being said; the apps mostly works and you can get the job done with plenty of patience. **Developer response:** Thanks for the honest review. Just to clarify one point - layer temperatures can be set for the first layer and for all subsequent layers. On supports, I’m not entirely sure which mode you were using - there are four options for filament printing (auto-generated at slice time, manual supports, block supports, and graph supports), and the experience can vary quite a bit between them. If you were using manual supports, that workflow is admittedly more hands-on right now and can feel tedious, which is something I want to refine. STL editing is currently limited to separating shells and planar cuts, so it’s not intended to be a full modeling tool. Crashes and freezes definitely aren’t expected, so if you can share anything reproducible (file, steps, what happened right before), that would really help track it down. On infill, additional patterns were already in progress and will be included in the next update (including honeycomb and gyroid). No place where I saw Pikaslice said I had to pay. I did everything it said but I can’t find the auto support setting. It is probably just me but I can’t find it. ### 5/5 — Really great iPad slicer *2025-09-23* I’ve been using this slicer for about 6 months and have been using it exclusively. Between Shapr3D and PikaSlice and my iPad Pro I’m all set with all my 3D resin printing design and slicing needs. I hate desktop computers with a passion, so PikaSlice does the trick. I’ve found some minor frustrations around the manual placing and deleting of supports…sometimes it places, sometimes it deletes or moves them. Also the supports being visualized immediately puts them in the way when placing additional supports. I think a cool update would be to only show a tiny half-sphere nub that’s the diameter of the support tip at the model entry point for all supports that are either auto-generated or user placed. Then we could basically place nubs instead of long thin stalks that get in the way of remaining support work. Then just have a button that allows “visualize supports” and then show all the stalks and bracing etc. I’m pretty sure this would make placing custom supports a whole lot easier and draw more customers to this great platform. Makes sense, right? I also seem to recall updating the app once and losing my printer and resin profiles. That sucked as I had several dozen to rebuild. Hasn’t happened again…yet. Still…this is a great iPad compatible slicer. Many thanks to the developer. **Developer response:** Thank you for your great review! I've implemented a first version of your suggestion and there's now a toggle once in "Place Supports"-mode, that switches all supports to small cones when either actively placing a support or editing one. I will iterate on this feature more in the future, but I needed to get out a bug-fix with version 4.0.1 as there was a small issue with the support placement "lens". I'm really sorry about the printer profiles, that obviously shouldn't happen. Now that I have my own little server running in the background, I'll add backups of printer profiles/materials in a future release. Please let me know if you have any other ideas for improvements or encountered bugs. Especially to improve the workflow between Pikaslice and Shapr3D. There's also a feedback button from version 4.0 on, that makes this super easy to do. The new version is rolling out in the nest couple of days and might require visiting the App Store page of the app to trigger a manual update. ### 5/5 — Works brilliantly *2025-08-03, version 3.8.0* This has sliced and packaged STL files ranging from simple Onshape output, through bought OBJ files to very complex Solidworks files and they have all printed well on an Elegoo Saturn. ### 5/5 — Awesome slicer *2024-11-26* Ignore the haters! Most of the bad reviews are because people are upset that they have to pay someone for their hard work lol. After trying all the different slicers on the App Store this one is on par with many of the best and the price is right in line also. (I’ll never understand why people think they should get stuff for free). The software works great and has a ton of features compared to most apple App Store slicers. ### 5/5 — Works a treat *2024-10-21, version 3.1.0* Does everything it advertises and does it well. I’ve been able to get all my STL files into an optimised, printable state — only using my phone. It has a wide base of pre-set printers, saves your own printer & individual resin settings, makes fantastic auto-supports that can be adjusted manually, is easy to manage and work through as a newbie & has all the desired features you could ask for. It has led to some great prints so far and has made adjusting issues easy. Yes! *2024-10-15* Originally I left a different review, but after understanding a few things and trying out the app in depth, I thought I should change it. So, yes you have to pay to save and export but for me, who’s a 95% iPad user, this app is one more thing I can do from anywhere. Prep my files then send them to print when I get home. Less time at my desk seems worth it. Now about the app: it’s very easy to use with really great tools. I design on an iPad Pro using TinkerCad and slice in Pikaslice, save on an SD card and trot off to my Creality Ender 3 and print. Most of my prints are for model RC planes, Pika slice tells me the weight of the job and length of filament before I print which is very very useful. I’m currently on the monthly plan as a trial however will switch to yearly such a good price for so much, currently about 60 bucks a year.
