It was great and we got some scans of my son’s Lego collection the time and we were able to get instructions to build cool cars and other designs but recently we tried to get better scans of his Lego collection and the AI software that Pileometer is using now is much worse than it used to be in the past now allows no overlapping when before I just take a picture of his giant pile of Legos and it didn’t throw me a roadblocking error message when interpreting. Makes the app unusable to us now. ### 2/5 — Expensive, inaccurate, and cumbersome *2026-07-02, version 2.2.3* The scans don’t identify the parts accurately, even when following instructions, leading to misleading searches for parts during build time. For what this costs, it is a complete disappointment. ### 3/5 — Can’t change the mode. *2026-06-05* For some reason when I chose digitize my collection now it is stuck in there and api can’t use the other features except the builds. Thanks in advance! ### 3/5 — Glitchy and has a Bad Free Cap *2025-07-03* I’ve had the app since i saw an ad for it it late last year, and thought it would be helpful for me since I’ve got a plethora of tubs all with over 10k bricks in them. I had to take a break from scanning for a while due to the issue of it crashing every time it would complete a scan. Along with crashing, a large number of parts that have been put into rotation in like the last 3 years aren’t listed yet, which i know is because the app isn’t fully up to date on the full Lego catalog, but it’s still a pain to deal with. Back to my original point; I had to take a break from scanning the first of like 7 whole tubs, but when i made my 38th scan, it stopped mid scan to say i reached the free cap. I don’t remember the app ever offering a subscription last November through this March, so to say i was disappointed is an understatement. I understand that the developers need profit somehow, but this just felt like the rug was pulled from right under my feet. Had this app for two days but on a third it fully stopped working. Does not open at all, reinstalling didn’t help. Also, the search for your scanned pieces by name does not work, you have to type brick number - only in this way it shows you something. And for some reason when you look at design sets it only tells you the shape of the piece but not the color, which makes it pointless to mark the color of scanned pieces. I have a bag of only yellow pieces but it shows that I can build a castle that made from grey pieces. **Developer response:** Oh no, sorry you're having trouble! Everything seems fine then comes to scanning part. I at least try to scan it 10 times and it said the picture not good enough and it said the lighting was too high or sometimes too low and then it was like no overlapping pieces and it took me like 20 minutes to sort it all out very very difficult to scan. It will help us to become better. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Great app *2026-04-28* It’s really functional people seem to say it’s cutting off but for some reason it’s not cutting off with me so that’s a dub and it has some parts missing but I wish it had those, but I’ll let it slide and also please add 99009c01 because these two parts are literally impossible to get apart (these parts have been connected 10 years and above all of that these parts are not meant to disconnect or else you’re going to break one of the pieces and weaken it other) and also these people stating that like there’s not enough builds, can you make it so you can add builds or I think it does that with never mind ignore all the people. Little tedious to do, but, will pay off with build suggestions. I would like to see a way to request “unidentifiable” bricks to be added to the catalog. Allow users to provide several images or a detail “scan” of these unidentifiable bricks, then use those to add to the catalog. But there are some flaws. As of version 2, whenever I open a build idea, it just shows me a grey screen, and doesn’t open. But if I open an idea from my filter options it does work. And with that, even though I have a piece catalogued in the app, it says that it is missing.
