### 3/5 — Can’t always rely on this.

I love the UI, though as others have mentioned, searches can be erratic at times. I used to rely on this as a sole reference source. But my confidence has been shaken by just too many instances of finding the references in here are outdated and superseded. For a while they flagged changes with a hot link to an official e-source before they updated their entries. That was fine by me, but I haven’t seen it happening lately. If I have to keep checking with FAA or Cornell Law sites to be sure I’m reading the latest, it kind of defeats the the utility of this app.

Pretty simple to use, but the UX needs some modernization: - Bookmark management from a single screen (drag and drop) - Automatic iCloud backup/sync - Reg collection presets (GA/FC/AMT, etc) seem to miss a few items and don’t allow multiple selections - Change identification - A Mac version would be great

Just got this used it before. It was free then, now you have to pay for updates—a bit odd.

It made to look free but you can't access anything on it without paying. All this is available in a free from the FAA website. 

I simply deleted the app and went back to the FAA

This app has a nice search engine (when it works) and will find areas of interest with just a few words.  The words don't even need to be in order.  The problem is that when you search for 10,000 feet - it will see the comma as a separator and search for any passage that contains "10", "000", or "feet"

There is no way to know what's changed in the regulations.  When it updates, you get no feedback as to where to locate changes.  This means you need to read the entire regulation on a regular basis and try to memorize passages, so you can recongize the changes

The app will try to update in flight.  It doesn't check for a connection to the server before suggesting you update.

It asks you if you would recommend the app.  I always answer no.  If I want to recommend an app, that's my business and not the developers.

As far as I can tell, there is no "great" FAR/AIM app, but this the best I could find. You can bookmark and highlight passages. There is a glossary, and a help wiki. The content seems up to date, though there has not been an app update since late 2014. I am a commercial pilot in training, and it has met my needs.

This is a great app and I highly recommend it for pilots in training and CFIs. 

However, a year after the iPhone 6 was released, I believe that it is time to update the app to support the new screen sizes.

App quit prompting for updates earlier this year. Didn't catch that. My fault. A while back, when asked about the new 91.155 VFR Class G requirements for helicopters, I confidently whipped out my trusty FAR/AIM and stated"Naw, that ain't in effect yet".......... And recently, the app blanked out all of my content with a request to renew my subscription, which doesn't expire for another month. I will look elsewhere for a more trustworthy source of such important and liable information.

Not sure what trouble the guys were having back in October, but this app works great for the 4th gen iPad and iPad Air 2. Content matches ECFR, and I've never had trouble updating. Quick responses to email, definitely a five star app.

Great app until it was abandoned. There are 3-4 updates a year advertised. Nothing has come out since spring 2020. 

Regulations are useless if out of date. 

I haven’t tried paying for more info, but the app promises free updates for my original purchase.

This was a great app for the FAR / AIM, but lack of properly updating the AIM has made switch to another app. I emailed the company about this issue and received a reply on March 4, 2021. The company said that normally update the AIM once or twice a year but said they were running late on the 2021 update. The FAA releases quarterly updates to the AIM and I would expect an app to update with with the latest information.

I just purchased this and looked up instrument requirements and it wants to charge me $5.99 for an update. I just paid 8.99 and the field is blank. 
WTH is wrong with this app. I need it for an instrument check ride.

I purchased this app 8 years ago. When I purchased the app updates were free. At some point along the way the developer decided to implement a subscription model and now it costs $7 a year to get updates.

I purchased the full version of this App when it first came out.  Then a few years later they want me to pay again for each section of the FAR/AIM.  Time to find a better App.

Six years ago when I first wrote a review, this app was an authoritative and frequently updated FAR/AIM source. But it hasn’t been updated in well over a year, despite my “lifetime subscription” promising multiple updates every year.  The app has become an unreliable aging snapshot of what the FAR/AIM used to be, but is no longer.

You have to have separate purchases for all your Apple (iPhone, iPad) devises.   Why?

I should be able to use this on both devices with one purchase. I am looking for other options.  

As a CFII, my students will learn this from word of mouth not experience as I have.

Once i learned how the search feature function - go back one line - i found this app to be the best for me to reference regs and the AIM.

The update feature is seamless and quick.

The FAR quick find is a great feature .

I have used this app since it came out.  A long time!  I am a professional pilot, CFI, and also serve as a Designated Pilot Examiner.   This app works great!  Economical subscription service.  Simple to use and just works!  Highly recommend this for any Pilot!

I’ve been using Pilot FAR/AIM (also includes Pilot Controller Glossary) for probably 7 years (or more).  I have NEVER had a problem with it. I spend no more than 30 seconds using keywords to find a subject matter I need refreshing, to answer a question I might have, or to settle a FAR/AIM/PCG argument I’m having with a fellow colleague. All pilots believe they’re 100% right on all topics all the time, until proven wrong. So is it wrong to always be happy to to prove I’m right? Thanks for making this app so easy for me to prove I’m a know-it-all!

By the way, our EFBs at work unfortunately have a similar product made by Lawstack...and it’s horrible. Buy this FAR/AIM app instead :)

As an airline captain and recreational pilot, I reference this app frequently. It is fantastic for finding something quickly and easily. The amount of content is fantastic and the customer service is excellent.

In my opinion, this is THE best app for a pilots reference to the FARs, AIM, and NTSB 830. For me, the ability to organize by creating sub folders for quick reference to Part 61, Part 91, Part 135, and CFI bookmarks is awesome. Everything is kept up to date by constant updates, so no need to worry about studying outdated material. When needed, tech support is quick to respond to your questions or problems.
Great app. One of my favorites.

I've used this app for years as a commercial airline pilot and Civil Air Patrol pilot. It's terrific and has an incredibly fast search capability.  Their customer service is also top notch. Emailed and had a response within an hour (on a Sunday no less).  Content is updated monthly for subscribers. You can't beat this App.

I think your app is the best of the best. First it encompasses all FAR Parts with updates that take less than a minute to accomplish. Second, you can do w work she search to display all sections containing those words and then easily navigate to the specific part of interest. I use this app to find specific regulations that I incorporate into a cloud-based IS-BAO application. 

What is needed with this application is a method to identify (flag) sections that have been updated for the current year.
