But they also give you points to have and unlock rewards whenever you find something you like. It’s not complicated and it’s effective. They charge you a half monthly fee and promise that they’ll report your rental payments to the credit agencies but they don’t do that so I don’t fully understand why they charge you so much every month for nothing. I emailed Piñata but they just sent me a generic response. I replied and asked them to please cancel my subscription. No response. Now I have to go through my bank which is such a headache. They need to offer items for multiple point ranges. They used to have a lot of gift cards which was great. Now everything is 2,000 points and over. I barely get 100 points a month if I do all the activities and rate my landlord. I don’t have an option to pay this monthly with my rent and it sucks there are no true perks anymore. When I submit feedback they say “oh we update all the time, check back!” I’m constantly checking multiple times a day some days and nothing updates frequently. When trying to use the website, every time they attempt to check their account status they are brought back to a log in page. When trying to use the app, it asks for our address— which they should already have if they are charging us. Their support system is not helpful at all. Do not recommend, horrible company. I tried their $5/month credit report add-on for a month and decided to cancel. Even after canceling, I was charged again the next month. When I reached out to support, they told me the only way to stop future charges was to deactivate my entire account, which would make me lose all the points I’ve earned. It’s such a shady practice to use a dark pattern designed to make you give up your rewards if you don’t want to keep paying. On top of that, for a company that claims to use “AI,” everything is done manually and slowly. It honestly feels like another trendy “AI” company with none of the actual automation or customer care. ### 1/5 — Useless *2025-09-27, version 2.52.1* Not sure what’s the point of this app, there is literally nothing available. Every time I check the app, everything is sold out. Things are sold out before they are even available. Most useless app I have ever tested. ### 1/5 — Do not get Pinata Max Rent Rewards *2025-09-10, version 2.52.1* Be aware that “your” points are never really yours and could be taken at a moments notice for seemingly no reason at all. I emailed customer service to resolve an issue wherein I didn’t receive full points after my landlord reported my rent, and “Ethan from Piñata” ended up removing a large portion of my points instead due to a “system glitch”? Not only did he not resolve my issue but he also removed my hard earned points that I had plans for and was getting ready to use. This app has the worst customer service lacking in even the most minute amount of empathy. S.N. items go quickly so if you have the points, select your gift pronto! You receive your gifts quickly too. Also, they could utilize their push notifications more. I rarely see their emails and barely see notifications even if it’s turned on.
