### 1/5 — FAILS on step ONE

*2024-10-26, version 1.4.0*

FAILS to create account! No option to proceed as guest. Guess I shop elsewhere.

### 1/5 — Trash

*2024-10-06, version 1.4.0*

Endless loop trying to create account. If your app has problems creating an account, it shouldn’t be in the App Store.

### 1/5 — Worst app

*2024-08-06, version 1.3.1*

As the other reviewers indicated, it is impossible to get my account that I have with this company to get me logged in. After 3 times I deleted it. Just go online for Pinch A Penny account info. Hopefully these people will get the message to work this horrible app out.

### 1/5 — Login

*2024-07-19, version 1.3.0*

What is the problem with your app? I just wasted an hour of my time and it’s not the first time. It doesn’t verify my email address the one I know I use. It doesn’t verify my phone number. It’s frustrating either get a better developer. Tell me how to fix this you don’t have a right to waste my time to try to buy things from your store.

### 1/5 — Don’t waste your phone memory space.

*2024-06-24, version 1.3.0*

Had the same issue as others no account found. Asked for a quote for a cleaning and 4 weeks later nothing. No contact NO NOTHING. Just call the store. It’s faster and easier.

### 1/5 — This is a joke

*2024-05-24, version 1.1.0*

You don't really expect us to take this application seriously right?!? Why don't you have one of your employees use it. If you came back and gave this a positive review it would be a bull faced lie. The app is extremely slow and glitchy. It is nearly impossible to find what you're looking for. There are products that seem to be hidden under retail product codes that a customer could never find. Then when you do find it, it suddenly, it says it doesn't know what it is. Half the time the server doesn't work. God forbid you try to check out. It will tell you "you don't have an account" while having your complete purchase history from before you even made an account with the application (via in store purchases). This app is so terrible, it's almost as if the company is mocking its customers. I feel like it solely exists just so the company can point at the application to indicate like it's not completely out of touch with simple technology in 2024. The five star reviews that it has on this version are nothing but shill ratings, which is pretty shady considering how very blatantly poorly this application performs. No real customer is going to disagree with me that you had 2 shills rate your application five stars, which is absolutely a complete mockery of your customers, and an acknowledgment that you really don't care to improve it, or for your customer's experience. I paid $17 for .75 ounces of indicator, and you can't afford to at least make your application work properly. Y'all really need to get it together. Fix the application and I'll fix my rating!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Can’t shop online

*2026-07-15, version 1.7.0*

Why the creator test the app to see how bad the app is?

### 1/5 — App sucks

*2026-06-05, version 1.7.0*

This app is so bad, you cant see or manage your pool cleaning service. The one trust data is missing so most of the functions on the app will not work. It needs a revamp

### 1/5 — Pretty useless

*2026-03-05, version 1.7.0*

The app never remembers my password. Now it’s lost all records of prior service to my pool.

### 1/5 — Horrible app

*2025-08-16, version 1.7.0*

This app work when it wants to, not when you need it. Test history show up…. sometimes, rarely. You have to make several login attempts before it lets you in. Don’t waste you time.

### 1/5 — Can’t shop, nothing shows that they sell

*2025-05-10, version 1.5.0*

Can’t shop, nothing shows that they sell

### 1/5 — Create Account

*2025-05-04, version 1.5.0*

Tried to create account 5 times checking the criteria. Gave up- too bad. App needs significant oversight and corrections.

### 1/5 — Painfully Slow

*2025-04-19, version 1.5.0*

The app is very slow and unresponsive. Don't waste your time downloading this app. Use the website instead.

### 1/5 — App? What App?

*2024-11-18, version 1.4.0*

App worked well for years and now nothing. No account found, etc.
Fix this or lose more customers to your competition.

### 1/5 — Not ready for prime time! 🥴

*2024-11-13, version 1.4.0*

You can’t even set up an existing account. So far, it’s a piece of trash!

### 1/5 — Won’t allow a account

*2024-11-06, version 1.4.0*

Tried to make an account twice won’t allow. Maybe some guidance from this review.

## Most praised reviews (5 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Update that was much needed!

*2025-01-30, version 1.4.0*

After seeing reviews about issues with account creation I was a little skeptical to try it out. But nevertheless I downloaded it anyway. I made an account and it seemed straightforward, so that makes me think they took the reviews into consideration and now made the account creation very simple!

Loving the water test strip scanning that tells me what is needed for my pool.

### 3/5 — Test strip scan not worky

*2025-06-26, version 1.7.0*

I like the app in that when the store tests my water and adds results to my account, I can look at results online. That works great but, the test strips part where you photograph the strip really doesn’t work for me and when I went to Pinch a Penny for help they never heard of it and had no idea what I was talking about. And I felt like I was wasting their time. When I photograph the Porpoise 5-1 test strip the app always says can’t read it try again.
As for the logon issue, I use the Apple facial recognition to logon and no problem but I know what folks are saying about difficulty when typing in logon and password.

### 2/5 — Pretty Bad

*2026-06-07, version 1.7.0*

The app opens great. It will not allow you to shop because it “doesn’t have OneTrust data..”. A good thing is it has the water test data from a few of the times I’ve had it there, but under purchase history it shows 70 something dollars worth of chemicals I purchased but not the nearly $400 I spent on a pool vacuum from them. Very insufficient. I would just take it down until it can communicate well with the store. If Panera can do it so can pinch a penny. It would also prove profitable for you. But hey that’s not important as a business, is it?

### 2/5 — Needs Major Updating

*2026-03-13, version 1.7.0*

I like that I can sign into my account, view my transaction history and water test results, and create my pool profile. However, that’s literally all you can really do with this app. The shop links do nothing. You can’t see any products let alone what’s on sale. You can’t order anything on the app. There’s no pool education or water chemistry prescriptions. This app could be soooo much better.

### 2/5 — App won’t create an account

*2024-06-11, version 1.2.0*

I tied three times to set up an account on the app. After entering my email, demographic information and setting up a password the app tells me there is no account with that email an asks if I want to set up an account. Sorry, but after three attempts, I deleted the app. Maybe that’s why it’s 17 years old and only has four reviews…
