## What is PinDrop Golf?

PinDrop turns a round of golf into a clear picture of your game. Log each shot on your phone, place the pin at the end of the hole, and PinDrop shows you the strokes-gained breakdown against PGA Tour baselines across tee shots, approach, around-the-green, and putting.

It's built around how golfers actually play. Tap through a round hole by hole, drop GPS shots on the map, pick your lie and club, and keep moving. When you're done, the round is saved to the cloud and rendered with per-hole shot maps, trend charts, club performance, and traditional stats like fairways, greens, and up-and-downs.

• Strokes gained calculator — SG off the tee, approach, around the green, and putting, calibrated to PGA Tour expected-strokes data
• Shot-by-shot logging with GPS placement, lie, club, and penalty tracking
• Automatic course pars and ratings from a built-in course database
• Per-round detail with scorecard, SG bars, and shot maps on satellite imagery
• Stats tab with SG trends over time, club performance, and aggregate numbers
• Bag setup with presets and custom clubs
• Sign in with Apple or Google; your rounds sync automatically across devices
• No subscriptions, no ads, no tracking

PinDrop is a phone-only app. Everything you need to track a round and learn from it lives on the device in your pocket.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

PinDrop 1.7 improves course setup, scoring accuracy, and reliability throughout the app.
• Fixed course search compatibility and made course details load faster.
• Added official scorecard yardages for more accurate tee-shot Strokes Gained calculations.
• Improved saved-round metadata and eligible historical-round calculations.
• Added clearer retry options when round uploads, profile changes, bag updates, or favorites fail to save.

### 1.6 — 2026-06-18

Adds elevation-adjusted distance context throughout round review and stats.

Distances now keep actual GPS yardage as the primary number while showing adjusted “plays like” yardage where useful, including hole detail, off-the-tee and approach review, club stats, gap analysis, and dispersion. This update also improves elevation handling when rounds are uploaded so new rounds can store elevation data automatically.

### 1.5 — 2026-06-08

Improved course search by showing city and state for course results, making it easier to choose the correct course when names are duplicated.

Improved map placement for new rounds by using the selected course location when opening the course map.

Newly logged rounds now preserve and display course location details when available.

### 1.4 — 2026-06-05

• Updated round detail hints and scorecard interactions
• Green expected-strokes floor fix so made tap-ins no longer lose strokes incorrectly
• General polish, bug fixes, and reliability improvements

### 1.3 — 2026-04-26

What's Changed in 1.3

  Smarter dispersion stats
  - Distance from pin now uses your actual measured putt feet for shots that hit the green, instead of GPS tap location.
   Numbers are noticeably more accurate.
  - New: see how many of your approaches actually hit the green for each club (X/Y hit green in the header)
  - New filter row: narrow your dispersion view by approach distance bucket — same way you can filter by lie or par
  - Tap a shot to see its strokes gained value, with a green/red badge if it hit the green
  - Dispersion dots are now colored by strokes gained (green = gained strokes, red = lost) instead of just distance from
   pin

  Cleaner UI
  - "By Approach Distance" table now has clear column headers and consistent labels
  - Filter chips no longer wrap awkwardly on narrower iPhones — they scroll horizontally if there are too many
  - Better spacing between filter rows

  Fixes
  - Fixed Done button rendering as a clipped vertical sliver on iPhones narrower than Pro Max during round entry
  - "By Approach Distance" SG average now shows sample count (e.g. 5/8) when older rounds in the mix didn't have strokes
gained calculated, so the average isn't misleading
