## What is PinLevel?

Set your pinball machine to the exact pitch it was designed for. PinLevel reads
front-to-back pitch and side-to-side level to 0.1°, then tells you which leg to
turn and by how much - in millimetres and bolt turns, not guesswork.

A generic bubble level tells you "not level". PinLevel tells you "raise the back
left leg one and a half turns".

LEVEL IT PROPERLY
• Live readout of pitch and side-to-side to 0.1°, colour-coded green when you're
inside tolerance and yellow when you're close.
• Presets for the angles the games were built around - Easy 5°, Standard 6.5°,
  Fast 7° - or a custom target from 3° to 8°.
• Per-leg guidance on a top-down diagram of the machine: raise, lower or hold,
with an estimated amount in mm and turns for your leg thread pitch.
• It walks the real-world method: side-to-side first, then pitch on the rear
legs, then re-check - because each one moves the other.

HANDS-FREE
• A tuner-style tone rises toward a bright, steady note as you approach level,
so you can keep your eyes and both hands on the leg bolt.
• Spoken cues call out which side to raise, and a haptic confirms each axis as
  it locks in.
• Focus mode: a big, high-contrast readout you can read at arm's length, that
goes solid green when the machine is ready to play.

ON YOUR APPLE WATCH
• The full live readout on your wrist, including the per-leg tiles - check the
machine without crouching down to the phone.
• Switch machines with the Digital Crown and change your target angle from the
  watch.

CHECK IT WITHOUT LIFTING THE GLASS
• Save a glass reference per machine while the playfield is level. From then on,
a quick reading on the glass answers "has it drifted?" in seconds - no tools,
  no lifting.

YOUR COLLECTION
• Save a named setup per game with its own target and dimensions, and switch
  between them instantly.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.2.2 — 2026-08-11

PinLevel can now ask you to rate it. Once.

You know how some apps nag you for a rating every third time you open them?
This isn't that. You get asked after you've actually finished levelling a
machine - never while the phone is face-down on the playfield - and at most
once per update. Answer it or ignore it, and it's gone.

If PinLevel has saved you some crouching, a rating genuinely helps other
pinball owners find it.

### 1.2.1 — 2026-07-23

Minor tweaks that I forgot to apply in the last version.
- The bubble and the leg circles now turn yellow when you're almost level - green still means done
- Your machine collection is now sorted A-Z instead of in added order.

### 1.2 — 2026-07-22

- Fixed a stupid mistake: side-to-side guidance that was mirrored: the Legs page, bubble, and voice cues could tell you to raise the side that was actually high.
If you calibrated your phone or saved a glass reference before this update, please redo them once.
- The app now always opens ready to measure in Level Machine mode
- Haptics are now off by default - turn them on in Settings and your choice is remembered
- Fixed Watch taps (like "Start on phone") being lost when the phone was asleep

### 1.1 — 2026-07-17

PinLevel now works with Apple Watch!

Put your iPhone on the playfield and glance at your wrist while you turn the legs - no more crawling out from under the machine to check the screen.

- Live readout on your wrist: the bubble level plus side-to-side and pitch numbers, in three views - Level, Focus, and Legs
- The Legs view shows which legs to raise or lower, step by step, and turns green when everything is set
- Switch machines right from the watch - press the machine name and turn the crown to scroll your collection
- Set the target pitch from the wrist: presets or a custom angle, fine-tuned with the crown
- Voice guidance straight from the watch - hear "raise the left" without touching anything
- The watch turns green and taps your wrist when the machine is level

Also: a new Apple Watch section in the Guide, and an updated intro.
