### 4/5 — Strava integration on the fritz

*2025-07-29, version 8.6*

Love the app but for some reason the Strava integration has been failing lately… maybe an easy fix?

### 3/5 — Mises à jour?

*2025-02-01*

L’appli est un peu à l’abandon. Dommage. Je me suis rabattu sur Redpoint.

### 4/5 — No auto logging + problem with combined trainings

*2025-01-19, version 8.1*

There is problem with:
Synchronisation to app when training was ended by the watch and the phone was not conected

Automatic Strava upload

Lack of auto attempts counting function based on altitude sensor

Hope that app will be improved

### 4/5 — Excellent App

*2024-07-06*

The only things this app are missing is the ability to say if you failed a bouldering and a rest timer. When I am on a V3, it can take me multiple tries to get it right. I would prefer to log it as a failed attempt rather than a success. I would also love a rest timer. I could have a rest timer for failed and one for success. That way I am not sitting around for 5 plus minutes resting. It’ll give me a gentle beep to say let’s get back to it.

Amazing app!

### 3/5 — Shows promise

*2024-05-05*

I love the general approach here, but unfortunately the implementation is a little shaky. Syncing workouts from the Watch is hit or miss and requires a fair amount of fiddling. Exporting an image of a workout’s graph results in a blank white image. The Watch app crashed several times while I was using it: when trying to enter workouts, when flipping between the three screen, and *every* time I tried viewing the third screen (still no idea what I’ll see once that screen loads some day). Fortunately the workout was always still running when I relaunched the Watch app, so I was able to keep using it whenever that happened and it wasn’t a total showstopper. I’ll keep using it for a while because the extra data vs. Apple’s built-in climbing workout is nice to have, and the workouts do *eventually* sync, but I hope to see some improvements in stability and features working smoothly.

### 4/5 — Great app, missing some features

*2023-11-30*

I liked the app and it's pretty easy to use.
Need some more basic features like easy to mark a climb a flash or repeat along with report on how many were flashed in a session and what is current flash level etc.

Current way of marking a climb a flash is quite cumbersome.

### 3/5 — App has bugs after update

*2023-05-16*

App was working shortly after download but after last update when I click Stats the app crashes every time. Also lost a full session on my watch due to app having black screen when trying to open and had to reinstall app to get it to work again.
Will be happy to give 5 stars if fixed!

**Developer response:** Hey kgoooooooooo, really sorry you lost a workout, if you contact me through the app we can try to recreate it in your account. Version 6.4 (released yesterday) has the fix for the stats screen crash. Thank you! - Nick

### 4/5 — Great with some feedback

*2023-01-13, version 6.0*

Updated 1/13/23: Where did the widget go?!?

Love this app but what I would love more is if it asked you before you completed a session. My boyfriend and I have both accidentally finished a session before we meant to and it’s a pain to edit it manually for each climb afterwards. Also, if there was a way to prompt you if you haven’t added a climb in a while that would be great. I frequently forget to finish a session and then have to stop it a few days later when I climb again messing up the data. Otherwise, I love this app. Having it on the widget screen is really really helpful.

### 4/5 — Great simple app! Missing 1 feature that would make it perfect

*2022-05-25*

Really easy to use, great integration with the Apple Watch. So easy to log a climb that I can have it logged before my feet touch the ground. The only thing I wish they had was an option for “finished” vs “sent” for the roped climbs. So that I could differentiate between routes that I sent in one go and ones that I had to rest on but still finished. You can do that in the notes, but from the watch it’s annoying to type a note so I have to remember for when I go back to my phone (usually at the end of a climbing session so I may not remember which climbs I rested and which I didn’t). That’s the only reason I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5.

### 3/5 — Decent, but fails to sync correctly

*2022-04-29*

It’s good at what it does (log climbs), but it doesn’t do good enough. I’ve experienced inconsistencies in what the app shows and what HealthKit actually logs. One climbing session failed to report any heart rate, another session was missing almost half of the session (I think the app accidentally minimized and didn’t record anything while in the background). And just last night, the app only shows half of my recorded session between 7:30-8:30 pm and is missing about half of my logged climbs (while HealthKit shows the full session from 6:30-8:30 PM with heart rate data for all of it).

Not sure where the problem lies but the developer has not been responsive. Phone snd AW7 are on latest versions, reboots of both haven’t solved the problem. It’s a big pet peeve of mine when data is not tracking correctly.

### 2/5 — App crashes

*2022-02-20, version 5.6*

App crashes and resets mid-workout. Deletes data. Sometimes deletes today routes saved, sometimes deletes calories burned. Disappointed with it. I use the app with an Apple Watch Series 3

### 5/5 — Game changer

*2022-01-24*

This app has helped me track my progress and motivated me to improve my climbing. Well worth a one off purchase. No ‘pro’ version with hidden features. Syncs really well to Health, Strava etc.

### 4/5 — Great but one issue

*2021-12-26, version 5.4*

Awesome app but it keeps weirdly resetting my climb time but keeps my climbs active. Which also resets my calories and I’m not sure if that syncs. I like to keep track of the time and if I don’t remember where I was at this throws everything off. Love the app but would be great if this was fixed

### 4/5 — Great for climb logs

*2021-07-04, version 4.5*

Love this app, it really makes it easy to swiftly log a climb without having to open your open. The only thing I don’t like is that for the iphone widget, there’s no way to specify if a climb was an attempt or a send. I don’t have an apple watch so I can’t long press/short press on the lock screen widget.

### 5/5 — Dead simple to use

*2021-06-16, version 4.5*

This app is great. It does exactly what it claims to do, and it offers enough options to customize without being overwhelming or fiddly

### 4/5 — Good App, could be great.

*2021-03-27*

Needed Features!

1. Full customization of workouts- merging and splitting!!!!
2. Show all climbs in workout view. An option to scroll through all climbs in a given date range in a chronological way in the workout view would be extremely helpful.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Top mais à l’abandon

*2026-01-04, version 8.6*

Crash tout le temps, back to Redpoint..

### 1/5 — Ne fonctionne pas sur Apple Watch

*2025-03-30, version 8.3*

L’application ne démarre pas sur l’Apple Watch…

### 1/5 — Ne fonctionne pas sur Apple Watch

*2024-12-18*

L’application ne démarre pas sur l’Apple Watch…

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work on watch 4 series

*2019-06-19, version 2.18*

The app doesn’t show up on my app watch series 4. I can’t do any workout so it’s pretty useless until this is fixed

### 1/5 — Cannot open app

*2019-04-21, version 2.12*

I purchased and was very excited to use. I had problems opening the app on my iPhone even though it did say it was compatible. I logged out and now I cannot log in or reset the password as the links are inaccessible under the keypad on my phone.

### 1/5 — Keim Sync mit iPhonr

*2019-03-10*

Es fehlen die unteren Schwierigkeitsgrade zum Auswählen, die Watch-UI ist zu kompliziert und leider speichert die Watch nicht zum iPhone - warum braucht es hier überhaupt einen eigenen Sync?!

### 1/5 — Just lost my move streak because of this app

*2019-02-24, version 2.8*

I just lost my 50+ day move streak because of this app. I climbed this morning and then went through the rest of my day, easily passing my move goal. Then I saw this app hadn’t finished saving my climb. I opened it up on my watch and it completed saving, wiping out my move progress for the day. It’s now 10pm, so I won’t get it back. Screw this app.

### 1/5 — App doesn’t save your sessions

*2018-02-02, version 1.13*

The app worked fine for a few sessions. Afterwards it stopped saving my logged sessions. I tried to contact the developer but got no response.

### 1/5 — Don’t bother with an original Apple Watch

*2017-11-27, version 1.10*

Can’t seem to launch nor save. Just keeps stalling out.

### 2/5 — Pretty disappointing app but its the only one for apple watch

*2024-06-12*

This app has the potential to be so much better but it seems like the developer has not made any meaningful improvements since launch. This app is good for logging grades, seeing heart rate, and has great Strava integration. This app is supposed to log your climbing location but it has never logged the climbing location correctly(either missing or logged as another state). Its pretty disappointing that this is pretty much all a paid app offers when a free app RedPoint, used to offer all that and so much more. RedPoint would record where (gym, outdoor crag) you climbed and how far you climbed (by measuring distance climbed) and the app would also automatically record climbs after each ascent/descent. These features no longer work on RedPoint after a iOS update. I paid for the Pinnacle app thinking it would have the same features but it is extremely bare bones and not very helpful to a training regiment. I have seen reviews for Pinnacle with users suggesting these missing features since 5 years ago but the developer has not added any of the features to the app. At this point, paying for the Pinnacle app means you are essentially paying for a fancy climbing themed notebook to log your grades.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Epic and straight to the point

*2026-01-14*

You start > you climb > you tag. It’s perfect and easy

### 5/5 — Works great

*2025-05-15*

The app works great. I had some slight issues with syncing sessions between Apple Watch and iPhone at some point, but those seem to be fixed now.
The only feature I would like to have are different kinds of tick types. Mainly for flashes, but also repeats would be a nice addition.

### 5/5 — Apple Watch

### 5/5 — Fun, simple way to log climbs

*2024-05-08*

This is way more fun than just turning on an open climbing workout in Apple’s Workout app. I like having the graph of what I’ve done each workout. I’m also glad I can see my heart rate during a climb, which helps me realize when I need to take a rest instead of pushing through.

I had some issues initially, but I contacted the developer and they asked me to reboot my Watch, which I had not done since installing the app. That fixed all the problems I was having. No crashes, syncing afterwards works well, etc. Now I am confident in recommending this app.

### 5/5 — Love it! But missing few features, and found some bugs…

*2023-10-26, version 6.8*

Love the app! I started using it few weeks ago and already stole my heart. What I think is missing:
- web console to lookup stuff on computer or tablet without the need to install app
- ability to add photos/videos to session (if there is such feature, it’s located in a place I wasn’t able to find
- ability to do interval training, would be great if in the middle of a workout I could say „I want to do intervals now, vibrate my watch 2 minutes after I log ascent/finish rep”
Bugs:
- on iPhone 13 running iOS 17 “share image” saves blank, white image, no content
- adding notes: open existing session, tap on input to add notes, type some thing and hit “done”, note is empty, hit “workouts” to go back, return again to same session, note content is there

### 5/5 — great app but recent update broke it?

*2023-06-13, version 6.6*

i love this app for tracking my climbs but i updated the app yesterday and now when i go to open it, it just shows a black screen. nothing will load ):

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2023-01-16*

Love the simplicity of the app. Makes it super easy to log your sessions without mucking around with a lot of menus and stuff. I especially appreciate the Lock Screen widget for this. If you want to save more details, the photos and notes are also great. Bonus, there is a data export feature. A lot of app for little price.

### 5/5 — Perfect Climbing App

*2022-12-03, version 5.10*

Integrations work seamlessly. Easy to use and has just the metrics and note taking I need.

### 5/5 — Awesome

*2022-05-02, version 5.7*

Strava integration is great.

### 5/5 — Best simple logger out there

*2022-02-13, version 5.6*

This app is great for logging climbs. Would love an outdoor session option for sport lead.

The data analysis tools aren’t there yet, but there is an export tool for making better and more helpful visualizations.
