### 5/5 — Great app to help build my Chinese skills!

*2026-08-15*

Pinyin Vision is an absolute game-changer for anyone trying to read and understand Chinese in the real world. The live camera OCR works lightning fast, instantly overlaying pinyin and accurate English translations directly onto street signs, restaurant menus, and books. Unlike generic translation apps that just spit out English text, it actually helps you learn by breaking down individual characters alongside audio pronunciations. Being able to tap any word to view character components and save them directly to custom study lists has leveled up my vocabulary retention tremendously. The interface is smooth, intuitive, and handles tricky fonts with great accuracy. Whether you are traveling, living abroad, or actively studying Mandarin, this is a must have tool for any Chinese learners! Excellent app!
