## What is PipeBook Pipefitter Calculator?

The pipefitter's pocket reference and field calculator. One purchase, no subscription, no account. Yours.

REFERENCE: verified, not scraped

Every dimension in PipeBook is extracted from two independent published sources, machine-compared, and hand-resolved against a third before it ships. The handful of values that haven't cleared that process are marked in the app, in plain sight, rather than quietly shipped. No guesses, no filler.

• Pipe schedules (ASME B36.10M/B36.19M): wall, ID in decimals and 16ths, weight per foot. NPS 1/8 to 48, Schedule 5 through XXS
• Fitting takeoffs (ASME B16.9), the takeouts on the print: 90s and 45s (LR and SR), tees, concentric and eccentric reducers, caps, stub ends, 1/2 to 24
• Flanges (ASME B16.5, classes 150/300/600): OD, thickness, bolt circle, hub, length thru hub, plus the full bolt-up: stud count, diameter, and length (RF and RTJ) and B16.20 ring gasket numbers

CALCULATORS: fraction-native, in 16ths, 32nds or 64ths
• Rolling offset: set, roll, travel, run. Pick a pipe size and get the end-to-end cut length with the takeoffs and your welder's root gap already subtracted
• Cut a fitting: any angle out of a factory 90, with the heel, centerline and throat marks
• Miter cuts: cut angle, cutback, heel-to-throat drop, segment lengths
• Parallel offset: equal-spread runs through any turn
• Right angle: any two of set, run, travel or angle gives the rest, with grade in percent and inches per foot
• Weight & fill: pipe, plate and tube weight, and what the line holds. Pounds and gallons per foot of water, for rigging and hydro
• Feet & inches: running tape math that accepts 3' 4 1/2 and never loses a 16th

BUILT FOR THE FIELD
• Works completely offline. No license checks, no sign-in, nothing to time out in a basement or on a pipeline right-of-way
• Send the welder the cut: the text and a dimensioned diagram, straight out of the calculator, with the root gap it assumed printed on the drawing
• Type "6 90" and get the 6-inch takeoffs. "6 150" gets the flange. "dn150" works too
• Metric: one switch and every calculator takes and gives millimetres. Tables show mm, kg/m and DN
• Pin your job's sizes; your recent lookups stay one tap away
• Screen stays awake while a table is open
• Big targets that work with gloves on

No ads. No subscription. No accounts. Features never move behind a paywall.

### 5/5 — Best app I’ve used for the trade

*2026-09-27*

Easy, dependable, loads quick. The app gives me all the correct information and does the math for me before I even start cutting!

### 5/5 — A better Pipe Trades Pro

*2026-09-27*

Why waste money on a subscription when you can get more information and a better interface with this? Worth it every time

### 5/5 — Bridging the gap

*2026-08-31*

This app is doing what nobody else is and for a one time cost. Thanks for building with us in mind. Excited to see what you’re going to do next!

### 5/5 — Productive, Awesome app!!

*2026-08-13*

Been in asphalt and utility work for years and always hated flipping through binders or digging through random PDFs on my phone. PipeBook is the first app that just gives me clean, fast answers on pipe sizes, specs, and data without the clutter.
Interface is simple and fast. I can pull what I need in a couple taps even with gloves on. Accurate info, no ads, no nonsense. Already using it daily on jobs and it’s saved me real time. Worth every penny for anyone who deals with pipe on a regular basis.
Developers clearly know the industry. Keep updating it.

### 5/5 — Finally a pipe reference that actually works in the field

*2026-08-11*

Ive been looking for a clean, fast pipe data app for a while and this one hits the mark. Quick access to dimensions, weights, and common fittings without digging through old pdfs.

Interface is straightforward and works well with gloves on already using it daily on asphalt and utility jobs worth a couple bucks saves time and reduces mistakes.

### 5/5 — Solid, works with no service

*2026-08-08*

Solid, works with no service
Bought after seeing it on reddit. Ive got pipe trades pro and this is better for takeoffs honestly. Checked a bunch of the 6" numbers against my pocket pal, all good so far.
Wish the keypad was a little bigger. Im in vaults a lot so no service is the main thing for me. Worth 13.

### 5/5 — Super simple and intuitive

*2026-08-07*

This is so intuitive I wouldn’t have to teach grandpa how to use it. And it works off line so I don’t have to hold my dang phone over my head just to get some signal. And finally someone is sensible enough to stop with the subscriptions buy once and it’s yours.

**Developer response:** Thank you so much for my first review…ever! I couldn’t have asked for a better one. I’m glad you like it.

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 1.1.0 — 2026-09-24

Two new calculators, and metric throughout.

WEIGHT & FILL: pipe, plate and tube weight, and what the line holds when full. Pounds and gallons per foot, or kilograms and litres per metre.

RIGHT ANGLE: any two of set, run, travel or angle gives you the rest, with grade in percent and inches per foot.

METRIC: one switch in Settings and every calculator takes and gives millimetres. Tables show mm, kg/m and DN.

Thanks to the fitter who wrote in asking for more functions. This is that update.

### 1.0.2 — 2026-08-11

The welder's gap now defaults to 1/16″ instead of no gap, because a butt-welded fitting has a root opening and the old default quietly made every cut a little long.

Shared cut lengths now state the gap they assumed, right on the diagram. Thanks to the piping engineer on r/pipefitter who made both cases.

### 1.0.1 — 2026-08-08

Housekeeping release. No dimension or calculator result has changed.

If PipeBook has been useful on the job, there is now an easy way to leave a review. Accuracy reports still jump the line: pipebooktheapp@gmail.com

### 1.0 — 2026-08-06

No release notes.
