I am a pipefitter and work in the field, not the office. It is very convenient to have this app on site and it all but eliminates any need I had for bulky, hard to keep up with, books and charts. Hello! I have no office. It takes a little practice to get ahead of the learning curve but it is not too difficult to figure out. Way more capable in scope than I have need for most days. I highly recommend Piping Abacus for the field hands reading this. How do I know? Because I bought them all. And yes, most of them have mostly the same info. But this one is far better. Why? It never crashes!! Because it has some of the features built in that other apps charge for like pipe spacing, large bore flanges, etc. The built in fraction calculator is worth the cost of the app alone. This app has more fittings also. You will not regret buying this app. I got the iPhone 5 and this app works even better. Less scrolling to find the fitting or information. Thanks for updating. Looked great. Appearances are deceiving though,, the items i do need the info on. It says that they are not on the DATABASE. The ones that are available. They are also on the free apps. This is so handy compared to spinning the old piping wheel! The calculator itself needs some attention with the store and recall functions not working like a real calculator. Clear button also needs to clear only the last input mistake, not everything! Frustrating when making a mistake along a string of dimensions and having to start over. I recommend to pipers trusting the app will continue evolving. June 2017 update improved the app more! ### 4/5 — Please update app to remove background grid lines. *2017-06-28* Great app and super helpful. After the most recent update, background grid lines are too visible. Make it hard to read dimensions and other text. Please update! This is on an iPhone 7 plus. Calculator can be somewhat glitchy at times but other than that the most complete and useful oilfield fitting data app I've found yet. There is a good foot and inch calculator on it (metric too) as well as charts showing dimensions of fittings, pipe spacing in pipe rack and lots more! No more pipe wheel and three ring binders with spacing charts, Taylor Forge charts etc. this app has it all! Only issue I had is, since it is on my phone, my boss thought I was constantly texting someone. LoL!
