Thanks for a fun game. I get what people are saying about ads and the messaging interface sometimes goes weird. And it’s-my-turn notifications stopped working a while back. The app kept saying I had to log in via FB. I email customer support and they said they would fix it. I worked with them implementing all their suggestions however none of them worked. Although I paid for the app I still can't play. Their customer support is awful they have no clue what they're doing! ### 3/5 — Great Family Fun *2013-11-19, version 2.6.5* Our family of three sit in the living room and we have a match with each person going at the same time. Unfortunately, we do not always have a lot of time to play. The game will deactivate our account too quickly. ### 3/5 — Addictive, but... *2013-05-31, version 2.6.5* First, the good... It's a lot of fun, and quite addictive. The occasional Arr, and Yes, cap'n is funny. (Reminds me of old Warcraft). Here's why it gets old... The animation (bombing) sequence is too slow. It should be sped up or there should be a way to disable. The push notification sound is loud seagull chatter. I think game continuity is stunted due to a requirement for most people to have to disable the sound so as to avoid random squawking at work. Honestly, it's annoying at home too. A ship's bell would probably be a little more innocuous. Parrot kind of gets in the way. Should probably slide in and out on its own without requiring intervention. Overall decent game, but it does kind of wear me down after a while. ### 4/5 — Pirate Fleet *2013-01-31, version 2.6.3* I was enjoying playing game and then I started being prompted to enter Facebook info and it wouldn't accept my email address to play. Have not been able to sign in. Very frustrating. ### 4/5 — Battleship with friends *2013-01-22, version 2.6.2* Lots of fun. Wish we could skip animations if desired though. Also would be nice to play more than one game at a time with the same person. And instinctively I tap the message in the bottle picture to see the chat message when it appears, and then remember that doesn't work, that I have to tap the chat button on the opposite side of the screen. Counter intuitive and annoying. These 3 things keep me from giving 5 stars. (Oh and also paying for the game twice because it annoyed me that my paid game said "free" on it even though I had upgraded it... It's worth the double price but that was frustrating anyway.) ### 3/5 — Good. *2013-01-18, version 2.6.2* I like the game, but have 2 issues. Number one, IPAD VERSION. Charge $5 for it, I don't care, just make one. Number two, please add a skip button so we don't have to watch our opponent fire their cannon balls. I take turns between patients at work for stress relief and sitting there waiting for those darned cannon balls to land annoys the crap out of me. ### 4/5 — Love it! But come on... *2012-10-24, version 2.6.0* Best Battleship type game I have found. Lots of fun! Update: I'm taking off 1 star from my previous 5 star review because of the constant advertising in the PAID version. No, they're not iAds like in the free version, but popup notifications to tell my friends about the game. Very annoying. ### 3/5 — Great game. has a bug *2012-10-15, version 2.6.0* Great game but kinda annoying that half the time when i try and go into the App the stupid log in screen shows up so i have to hit logon with facebook. It jumps to facebook then straight back to the app. It works but annoying. Fix this problem and its a 5 star. ### 2/5 — I said "no, thanks" - so stop asking! *2012-09-23, version 2.5.5* the app itself is fun and glitch free but the company behind it is CONSTANTLY sending push notifications (even though I declined this option) to rate the app and invite friends to play. It's not even when I open the app or take a turn, it will just randomly pop up once or twice a day EVERY day asking me to invite more people. I liked the free app so I decided it was worth it and I paid $1.99 to stop the constant ads and requests to upgrade -- now this?! so obnoxious. more annoying than before I paid. don't waste your money. ### 3/5 — Please stop nagging for ratings *2012-09-22, version 2.5.5* I love this game and I play daily. But I'm so sick of the constant nagging using push notifications asking me to rate the app. I'm leaving this 5-star review in hopes that the nagging stops. If it doesn't I'll come back and leave a 1-star review. Update: I continue to be nagged about leaving a review in the app store. So now this game only gets 3 stars. The game is great but please stop nagging me about leaving a review when I've already left a review. If not, I'll be forced to leave a 1 star review... Don't make me go there. ### 3/5 — Good but not 5 stars *2012-08-21, version 2.5.3* Multiplayer is cool but game play is slow. It takes time for the main screen to update when its your turn and seems to slow the flow a lot. Also, the change of screens is cumbersome and that parrot is annoying. I quit playing for a while and when I came back I found my (paid) version full of bugs. It wouldn't let me sign in via email even though it recognized it as a registered user and didn't even give me the chance to put my password in. It basically forced me to sign in with Facebook which I hate doing and then it had no opponents available. I paid $ for this game and I'm rather upset with it at the moment. It also reduced the amount of avatars to choose. I don't like PirateFleet2. I prefer the regular one but it's out of commission and I want my $ back. ### 1/5 — Disappointed *2012-11-23, version 2.6.1* The game was asking for an email, and you must provide it, if not you cannot use the game. You paid for, so I have the right to use, but this Ono works online with other people, you cannot play with the computer (iPod or iPhone). It took me quite some time to figure out how to play it. Then finally when I found an opponent , the game is TOO SLOW, I have to wait more than 2 minutes for the other person to fire o setup it's ships. And I have to be swapping between screen to wait for, and I fire fast, then I must wait and wait and wait . It's boring and SLOW. I don't want to think that all those reviews with 5 stars are made by the owners of the Game, but it looks like. I would like my money back. Miranda ### 2/5 — Fun game, but... *2020-02-18, version 2.7.4* I started playing this game years ago when it was free. Then I paid for the full version and didn’t have to deal with ads. I recently started playing again after years of not even opening this app, and to my surprise I find that there is no more free version. You are required to buy it now, and there’s ads. Don’t buy this if you hate ads. Easy to learn, easy to pick up, play, and put down for a while and come back to later. There must be some East Coast vs West Coast duels judging by the middle of the night seagull serenades, but it's a great past time and I feel like I know some of my fellow pirates! You meet people from all over the world and can chat with them while you play. I even met my future husband on this game! Great graphics, music, and sounds. A few minor glitches: sometimes your cannonballs remaining doesn't reflect the true amount; since the last update, when I launch the game about 4/5 times it will show my active games for just a moment then will say You Need To Log In With Facebook Or Email which takes about 15-30 seconds to do - no biggie but it's never done that until recently; after playing it will send you a notification/nag screen to your phone saying "Love playing Pirate Fleet? Tell your friends and rate us!" and although I've dismissed the message, it still comes each time after I've closed the game. Those few quirks aside - I do love the game. 😊👍 ### 5/5 — No wifi required! *2012-05-29, version 2.5.2* I was looking for a game like the old school one where you shoot at your buddy's ships...
