## What is Pit Stop?

You're doing 70 on the interstate. The tank is low, everyone's hungry, and the next big green sign is a mystery. Take this exit, or gamble on the next one?

Pit Stop ends the gamble. Open it on any US interstate and it figures out which highway you're on and which direction you're headed — then lines up every exit ahead with exactly what's there: gas stations, restaurants, hotels, and sights actually worth stopping for.

NO TYPING, NO SETUP
• No route to enter, no destination needed. Merge on and the exits ahead just appear, counting down as you drive.
• Off the highway? Pit Stop waits quietly and lights up the moment you merge.

READS LIKE THE REAL SIGNS
• Filter to Food and every exit becomes a blue logo board — the brands you know, laid out like the signs on the roadside.
• Gas, food, stays, and sights, each with its distance off the ramp, so you know if it's right at the exit or three miles into town.

FIND YOUR CRAVING
• Search "Chipotle" and see the next 5 exits that have one — with miles, minutes, and distance off the exit.
• Or just say it: tap the mic, speak, and Pit Stop reads the answer back while your eyes stay on the road.

WORTH THE STOP
• Roadside wonders get a heart: castles, museums, zoos, national parks. If something remarkable is coming up, Pit Stop tells you before you drive past it.

BUILT FOR THE DASH
• Full CarPlay app: exits ahead on the car screen, food and gas tabs, one-tap brand search with voice, and one more tap hands navigation to Apple Maps.

WORKS WHERE SIGNAL DOESN'T
• Every interstate exit in the lower 48 + DC — 19,675 exits and 200,000+ places — ships inside the app. Rural Wyoming, the Smokies, dead zones: it all still works.

Good stops. Great trips.

Exit data © OpenStreetMap contributors. Pit Stop is not affiliated with the brands shown; logos identify businesses near exits.

### 5/5 — Great app! One tip

*2026-08-08*

This app is great when trying to find when to stop and the best places. Only recommendation is to add in the ability to search for upcoming state highway rest areas. That isn’t an option yet but includes restrooms and sometimes vending machine snacks.

**Developer response:** Thanks so much! Rest areas are coming in the next update !

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2026-08-07*

This app is easy to use and straight forward, excited to use it on our next trip.

### 5/5 — Brilliant

*2026-08-07*

Brilliant app! Traveling with the family, it’s tough to sleuth around on our map apps trying to find stuff to stop at. Had this issue last week on a trip to Holiday World driving back late at night, hard to see signs because it was slightly foggy. Priced right and offline too. I can see why this hit the top of the list! 🔥 (P.S. don’t be confused by the demo app content, you need to be driving on an interstate to use this and it’ll work everywhere it seems)

### 5/5 — This is awesome!

*2026-08-07*

It’s so easy to use and the car play app is great. It makes road trips so much easier. We used it on a hockey tournament and we usually would get McDonald’s but it showed us this cool bbq restaurant right off the exit that was sooo good. A+

### 5/5 — Great for road trips

*2026-08-06*

Amazing app. It has been great taking my family on road trips. Never knowing where to stop and wasting time looking up was too much. This app has helped a ton. Highly recommend!

### 1/5 — Needs Work

*2026-08-05*

The app looks like it would be great but it automatically loads Cincinnati area stops and there is no easy way to change locations. I tried requesting a refund it directed me to get help which took me to a website for the app that was no help. Great idea. UEX needs work.

**Developer response:** You hit the button that says "Explore the demo drive". Once you are on an interstate driving it will show the real location you are. That is just to show users what it looks like so they don't have to go and actually drive to see the app in action. We will make that more clear. Please reconsider your rating if possible. I will also issue a full refund.

### 5/5 — Life changing app for travelers

*2026-08-04*

This app saves travelers so much time and aggravation when trying to find a place to eat or get gasoline. The bonus is also discovering sights and attractions along the way. We travel a lot every year for youth hockey and this will help us find all our favorites without the usual hassles of trying to check all the roadside signs. So much more detail and one can search for specific restaurants or gas stations as well as lodging.

## Version history (last 3 releases)

### 1.2 — 2026-08-10

The big road-trip update.

• 3× more places. We rebuilt the database by blending OpenStreetMap with Overture Maps — hundreds of thousands of restaurants, gas stations, and hotels we were missing are now at your exits, and thousands of closed businesses are gone. Fewer gambles, better stops.

• Rest areas are here. Rest stops and turnpike service plazas now appear right in your exit list at their real mile markers — the blue cards, just like the signs. There's a new Rest Areas filter too. (Most requested feature — thanks, and keep the ideas coming!)

• Call ahead. Tap the phone icon on any place to call before you commit to the ramp. "Are you still open?" is now a 70-mph question.

• CarPlay got a glow-up. The next exit now shows rows of actual brand logos on your dash — tap a logo and you're navigating straight to that place via Apple Maps.

Good stops. Great trips.
