Three instruments run off two lines of air. When one of those lines blocks, the needles keep moving — and they lie in a specific, predictable direction. This app teaches which one, and why. Seven chapters, each built on live physics rather than stored answers. Move a slider and every gauge on the screen recomputes. THE CHAPTERS • The System — two lines, three instruments, and which one taps which • The Altimeter — sealed wafers, the Kollsman window, and one inch per thousand feet • Airspeed Indicator — the only differential instrument, and what it is actually subtracting • Vertical Speed Indicator — a calibrated leak, and the lag it buys • Blockages — what each failure actually looks like on the panel • Corrective Action — pitot heat, alternate static source, and the last resort • Preflight & Regs — 91.411, 91.413, and the walk-around THE BENCH A sandbox with every input exposed. Set an altitude, a true airspeed and a Kollsman setting. Ice the pitot mast, block the drain, seal the static port, open the alternate source. All three gauges respond together, with the indicated, true and error figures printed beside them. This is where the numbers stop being memorised. A sealed static port and a 300 ft climb reads 300 feet low and 33 knots slow — not because the app says so, but because it computed it from the pressures. THE QUIZ 42 questions tagged by chapter, so a wrong answer points at the chapter that explains it. WHAT IT DOES NOT DO No account. No network — it works with the phone in airplane mode, on the ramp, in a hangar with no signal. Nothing is collected, nothing is tracked, and there is no in-app purchase. Every figure it quotes comes from the FAA handbooks and 14 CFR, and the regulatory chapter names the sections rather than paraphrasing them.
