Instead, use an integrated solution from a derived credential partner, or use a YubiKey accessory. The derived credential solution is based on PIV or CAC smartcard credentials. Like the credentials on your smartcard, a derived credential is an electronic certificate. Unlike your smartcard credentials, derived credentials can be stored on your smartphone, tablet, or other mobile devices. The derived credential is a standard, defined by the National Institute of Standards and Technology Special Publication 800-157 (NIST SP 800-157).
