Firstly, thanks for the overall system, I was looking for photo sharing software that lets me control permissions and this is perfect!

I can’t get the iPad app to connect.  The iPad itself will connect using any browser and my iPhone will connect using either the iPhone app or a browser.  Windows can also connect.

I am using http as I only share via a VPN.

I give up on Piwigo. Have been running a server with Piwigo since at least 2014 or earlier. Now on mobile the pictures only display momentarily. Uploads have stopped. Time to cut losses and move the files to something else while the backups and originals still exist. 
Enjoyed it while it lasted. Thanks.

### 3/5 — No support for Live Photos? Or .MOV?

The app itself is really nice, I wish I could make the web ui as user friendly as the app. 

But of the few test uploads I did none of my Live Photos were uploaded with the “live” portion. My photos were apparently converted from HEIC to jpeg. And all of the .MOV files I tried uploading failed with an orange  exclamation mark…

Im hoping this is just a bug or a setting I messed up. But it’s not looking that way…

**Developer response:** Today, only the photo of a Live Photo is uploaded to a Piwigo server because the VideoJS extension is not installed on servers by default. Photos are converted to JPEG because servers are not compatible with HEIC.

We foresee to bring an option allowing to select whether the photo and/or video of a Live Photo should be uploaded. This will require the installation of the VideoJS extension.

Please note that you can upload videos if VideoJS  is installed on your Piwigo server (HEIF videos will be converted to MP4 before uploading).

Images I selected to upload to my website are still pending hours later. I even restarted my phone, deleted the select images, closed the app several times. Nothing helps — they’re still pending. Gonna try a reinstall.

Very very good app. I use it all the time now. No problems connecting and using the app, thanks for the great work. 

One suggestion if I may. When viewing an album of the photos where broken up into date taken or upload blocks. A break in the album view with the date in a dividing line for example. But hey as it is it’s brilliant. Thanks again for a great job.

App needs the ability to auto upload camera roll.  Been trying to find something to switch from Nextcloud. I like everything about this except for that fact.

Love Piwigo, but even though my user has HD enable and no matter whether I set the preview to original size and clear cache, I can’t seem to download the (very large) original photo size through the iOS app (I can download it from the web client). Is this a bug? Could the iOS app support dynamic downloading in the various supported sizes - this would be a nice feature! Thank you for all the hard work.

This app is amazing! My whole family uses it to organize all of our photos. Scanning took forever but was worth it! Any idea if the Piwigo team is planning Nextcloud integration? That would be a dream.

I’ve been running the the app for a long time now but suddenly it started crashing ever since the last update. My server works fine when using a web browser and nothing has changed there. Other people who who have not updated yet work fine too. It logs in ok but then crashes while loading.  My server has over 85,000 images in it. Could it be memory?  Dunno.

This is a well done, quick app that gives good access (upload, change, add,  and view) access to Piwigo albums. But it really needs a search capability!

Bug sévère après un upload qui a foiré. Après suppression d’une photo, celle-ci réapparaît en plusieurs exemplaires dans la galerie. J’ai eu beau la supprimer encore et encore, elle réapparaît toujours. Je suis rendu à 32 duplicatas. Déconnecter de l’appli semble avoir réglé le problème.

This app would be very cool if it worked right. I have to try between one and five times to create an album until it succeeds, usually it says failed, and when I upload pictures it fails saying I'm unauthorized but only sometimes. Other times it uploads the pictures but resizes them to 5x5, so they're all blurry. Every now and then I can get it to work properly. I've tried nuking my piwigo installation on my server but no luck. Am I the only one? I don't think I'm doing anything wrong but I hope I am because this app would be very cool if it worked 100% of the time.

I have trouble anytime I have to select something from a list. The list selection gets in the way of going to the next item, and the previous an next buttons generally don't work because they are placed over the selection field and the app instead changes your selection rather than allowing the buttons to work. You also can't tap outside of a selection field to exit it. This app is still operation in early beta mode from all the interface bugs I run into. I hope they update it to address these bugs.

Notice all the good reviews are more than a year ago.

Just this week there has been a change where the Pwigo IOS app renders black and white images blurry. Colour images don’t seem to be affected. If I use the mobile browser on the website running Piwigo, the pictures render just fine. The same Piwigo app on my IPhone also renders b&w images blurry.

Update beta fix tested, looks good! 5 stars

I really love this app. I have a feature request and was wondering how difficult it would be to implement.
I would love the ability to browse a picture in Photos, and then open the picture in Piwigo to upload it to my gallery. The problem I currently have is that it is not as smooth to scroll through nand find picture in the upload screen in Piwigo as compared to Photos. Hope this makes sense.

### 5/5 — A Great Alternative to Less Private Apps and Services

Piwigo has a lot of features built in and can be extended using plugins. I think where Piwigo really shines is In it’s ability to be more privacy focused. Purchasing hosting provided by the group behind Piwigo themselves is a great way to support the company and the product they have made, but you also have the option to self host all your photos and link the app to that computer. Some other great features built into the app itself is the ability to strip the uploaded photos of metadata which is also nice in not sharing location data and other information if for lets say a family member posts one of your shared photos online. Anyway, a great app and I wanted to support it by writing this review.

good app but can user not admin del their photos on app？

When the "user delete photo" plugin is installed on the Piwigo server, a Community user can delete his photos from the web interface. We have contacted the developer of this plugin and wait for an update of the plugin to add the function to the iOS app.
