## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Inconsistency is unacceptable

*2021-09-24*

Sometimes it works. Other times it leaves out critical photo files. I used it to auto fly grid mapping missions. Sometimes it does not send signal to the drone to take a photo. Therefore, the map is missing several photos/ data points. Therefore, the map is useless to me and my customers. I’m going to use other software from now on.

### 1/5 — It needs some work

*2021-05-14*

It regularly misses images, and regularly refuses to send the mission to the drone. The only solution to the second issue I can find is uninstall, reinstall, and remake the area….while on the job site. There should also really be an online mapping tool so I can layout missions ahead of time and save them.

### 1/5 — Don’t Expect any support from the company

*2020-09-21*

Their software would not connect to my drone. I have painstakingly went through forums and their system checks procedures. When I requested some bit of technical assistance to help with this problem I mind as well had a bot give me the same links I had already tried but instead I got the courtesy of a human to say they wouldn’t help. I can’t can’t capture images with there free software why trust paying for their software to process it.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work at all

*2019-05-04*

Tried to load in my iPad. I get prompted to update security settings and forces me to a screen. Click save and get server error. There is no way to even use the app as this screen is on top of the main menu with no option or possible way to continue. Horrible app design. It should be removed from the App Store as it does not meet the minimum guidelines set by Apple.

**Developer response:** Hi Jonathan, The issue you got was a temporary bug that has been solved now. Have you been able to use our application since then? Best

### 2/5 — Something has changed here?!

*2022-10-12*

Something has changed here?! I’ve used Pix4D capture app for many years with great results. But this flying season the app is overexposing all my images! You cannot manually set exposure, or if you do, it makes no matter as the capture app defaults to AutoExposure. I had to resort to putting on ND64 filters to get anything usable! Please fix this! Last year I flew the exact same landscape and no overexposures! What happened?

### 2/5 — Lack of integrations are a deal breaker

*2022-08-24*

PIX4D continues to not partner with DJI or flight data telemetry companies like Airdata, which means all flight data (including battery cell voltage deviations, a critical data point for staying ahead of mid-flight battery failures) is trapped inside the Capture app. PIX4D, please allow all or single DJIFlightRecord files to either be emailed from the app (like support logs are), exported to iOS Files, or partner with DJI, AirMap, others, to allow a shared app group to be used to transfer Capture flight logs to those apps. Requiring users to plug their mobile device into a computer and navigate a folder structure is not a viable workflow. Thank you.

### 2/5 — Could be better

*2021-08-22*

I really wish Pix4D would concentrate on this app updated. I’ve been running into issues with the app sending my drone back with 70% battery left. Then when I resume the mission it starts the whole thing over again. This is the only mapping specific app. They could do so much better

### 2/5 — Lack of attention

*2019-02-14*

This app has the ability to be so much more than it currently is if Pix4d would put forth the effort to update and advance it. Only thing that I can think of is, since it’s free and they don’t make money off of it they just do not care! Mavic 2 Pro STILL does not so the live photo preview. Just a black screen. Since one field they market their product to is law enforcement for crash scenes and not all crashes occur during the day, if love to see an option to have the drone pause at each photo for a pre-set amount of seconds or until a preprogrammed function button is press to assist with night captures.

Speaking of the Mavic 2 Pro, how much longer do we have to wait for you guys to fix the EXIF data issues?!?

### 2/5 — Getting worse

*2018-11-06*

I have been using this app over the past year and a half or so and it seems to be getting worse. At first the app seemed to function fine. Now it seems to not take 25-40% or the photos it says it will, and they are always pictures that are critical to a good ortho-image and surface. And of course you waste your battery(s) on the first flight, so it’s rarely an easy fix. It’s left me a very frustrated user.

### 2/5 — Disappointed Previous user

*2018-10-24*

I have used this app in the past; I was even invited to be a beta tester back in 2016 I believe. However no I have no good reviews for it. The only thing that went right was the flight. It did not take the amount of images is said it would have, and worse of all, freezes and doesn’t upload the project.

Good thing I attempted to test the trial version before I got suckered into anything 🤦‍♂️

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Solid app, improving quickly, some missing features

*2018-05-25*

Have used this a few times, and is performing well now after some hiccups.

A key tip, buried in the training videos, is to start your DJI drone, launch the DJI app to verify that all is good, then STOP the DJI app completely. This solved all issues with freezes and no images for me.

They seem to be working to add features: the much requested mission pre-planning is now available on IOS. Still missing is multi-battery flights, though the project merge feature in the desktop app helps with this

### 5/5 — Great Application

*2018-01-10*

This app is a tool and you must learn to use the too before you just let it go! I have used Pix4D for several years and flown 100’s of missions with no problems at all. I would recommend this app!!

### 5/5 — Pilot

*2017-12-21*

Better than others and it is free of charge! Tips: 1. Compass calibration and IMU calibration with DJI Go and then shut down DJI Go; 2. Keep connection between drone and remote control, otherwise it will NOT take photos; 3 check firmware updates.

### 5/5 — Pix4D is great

*2017-12-08*

We have used Pix4D for over a year and on hundreds of flights and have had very few issues. Our company currently has over 30 pilots and it is the preferred app for mapping.

### 4/5 — Drone speed

*2020-10-01*

Great to use overall but recent app update two days ago changed speeds to be around 4 mph across all settings. Using a mavic pro 2. Hard to use app as of right now.

### 4/5 — Great app

*2019-06-07*

While there are always things which I would like to see added - I’m super happy that the mfg has addressed the exif and live preview issues with the mavic pro 2. I find the ease of use of the app and the ability to easily fly a double grid with the camera at 30 degrees gives great results for 3D site point clouds with their photogrammetry software.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your rating. Your suggestions and feedbacks are valuable for the improvement of our application.

### 3/5 — HELP!!

*2020-10-06*

We use an Inspire 2 drone from DJI to do Survey Topography with Pix4D, since the new update, we've had trouble with the camera view selection. It is just a black screen when you open up the camera view. I open the DJI app, and I can see the camera perfectly fine... What is happening?

### 3/5 — Mapping works well but map resolution is horrible

*2020-05-30*

This app flies the most intuitive path of all the apps I’ve tried but the image quality of the map for planning your flight might as well be one big pixel, really difficult if you don’t want a certain area mapped/flown over.

### 3/5 — Great App - Except with M2E

*2019-03-27, version 4.4.0*

This is a great App and has been exceptional helpful for ease of use with Pix4Dmapper. Unfortunately, Pix4Dcapture does not support the Mavic 2 Enterprise which our department now has a fleet of. We have had to resort to using other Apps and free-flying which has created inconsistent mapping images to import into Pix4Dmapper, which creates problems in and of itself. Please consider adding Mavic 2 Enterprise to the Pix4Dcapture fleet of usable drones. Thank you.

### 3/5 — Please, support DJI Phantom 4 Pro v2 ASAP!

*2018-07-22*

I got a P4Pv2 yesterday and drove hours to the place my customer requires us to fly the drone. It was so disappointed that Pix4D didn't support it yet. I was considering to return it and get a P4 advanced, but it will cost us $225 restock fee at BestBuy and another day of work.

Please let your developers see the messages and have the new version ready ASAP. So many people are waiting for it.

Thanks!
