## What is Pixel Odyssey?

There's no button to buy power. There never will be.

Everything you're carrying, you earned — and everyone can tell. A real MMORPG you can play while the show is on: combat resolves on its own, nothing is timed, and it waits for you when you put it down.

You start with a stick. Months later you're selling rare gear on a player-driven market where every price was set by a person, not a shop — and caring far more than you expected to.

No ads. No pay-to-win. An optional subscription adds convenience, never power.

Built and updated by one developer, with a small community that's kind to new players.

### 4/5 — Exactly as advertised

*2026-09-07*

First, very fun. It's great. There's a few minor issues here and there, and one big issue at the end of the list.

- the log in the arena (the one at the top-right, not the in-fight one) doesn't work.

- items visually disappear from inventory when you upgrade them (but reappear after clicking to another page and back).

- there are no tooltips for most things.

- defenses don't seem to work well. Maybe this is just a skill issue, but I actually tested this in the tower (at tower lvl 20) by: resetting all my points; maxing out my basic defense; maxing out one relevant element's defense; and the spellcaster was still nearly one shotting me every time. This appears to be explicitly an issue with fighting spellcasters, as I'm annihilating everything else. Like I said, maybe a skill issue and I just don't understand how the game works, but, if that's the case and I'm twenty hours in, then there's definitely a distinct lack of in-game information causing my confusion.

- My single biggest gripe: Level requirements. What a let down. Level requirements are (in every single game they have ever been in) nothing but an artificial progression brake — basically a crutch for developers who didn't feel like actually solving whatever pacing problem they percieve. This equates to forced-grinding, and it is not rewarding. If I made good choices and was able to make a powerful thing early, there is no greater gaming slap-in-the-face than being arbitrarily told I have to wait to use something I earned. Managed to grind for all those materials for that epic sword? "Too bad, you're 30 levels early..." <- Infuriating. Everything else is a minor issue, but this one might be the reason I put the game down and don't come back to it.

### 4/5 — Eh

*2026-08-18, version 2.2.0*

Fun game. Downside: crashes a lot. Not sure if it is still in beta or not

### 5/5 — Awesome

*2026-08-10, version 2.2.0*

I enjoy the game, the crafting system, random loot chance and stats upgrade system are all amazing. Play it, enjoy it.

### 5/5 — Exactly what it says

*2026-08-02*

This game is built perfectly as far as simple goes.

No ads, no pushy micro transactions.

You can genuinely pop in for ten minutes or step for hours. Pacing is good so far. The grind is satisfying, respects your time, and in fact encourages time away from the game.

### 5/5 — Great game

*2026-07-11, version 2.2.0*

I'm really enjoying this, please fix mining sound, every time hitting my ears

### 5/5 — This game is brilliant

*2026-06-12, version 2.2.0*

Its not pay to win...what else do you need to know. try it, youll like it.

### 5/5 — Every Growing

*2026-06-07*

I’ve played for nearly a week now, you can play at your own pace. And you don’t have to really fight monsters either. You can mine or gather herbs, etc. Focusing on other aspects.

### 5/5 — Very enjoyable & non P2W

*2026-06-06, version 2.2.0*

I tried this small indie game out and was incredible pleasantly surprised. The game is fun, respects your time, is actively developed and has a cool small community who all care about and enjoy the game. Fixes are quick and the dev is responsive. I’ve been playing daily for over a month and don’t plan to stop!

### 5/5 — Very good game

*2025-10-28, version 2.0.2*

Does the game support Russian?

### 5/5 — Fantastic game, can’t recommend enough.

*2025-09-27, version 2.0.1*

The game is made by a solo developer, so it isn’t perfect all the time. However, it is a perfect time killer. There’s absolutely no in game transactions that boost power like in other games, they’re purely optional. Some of the transactions are meaningful, but absolutely not necessary at all.

If you like to grind for things and see the rewards that come with it, this is your game. Various builds you can play with, an active player market and player chat. The developer communicates regularly with the discord channel and takes recommendations, listens to feedback and works on bugs that are posted.

The community is also super helpful and will sell, give or advise on anything you need. This is almost a perfect mobile game.
