This applies to the land expansion cost, cost to fulfill missions, etc. You are constantly punished for progressing. With every land purchase, wait times become longer and expansion/mission costs rise exponentially. The fun:patience ratio is just too taxing for most players. The sound design is also really overwhelming; better music and sounds would really have been nice. Every time I load up the game I’m bombarded with a discordant cacophony of melodic sound effects clashing with each other and with the background music. But the graphics, writing, concept, and core gameplay loop are all very strong. Addressing these issues would make this game exceptional, I think. ### 2/5 — Couldn’t get beyond the start *2026-02-23, version 1.4.17* The click here, click here, click here tutorial is very bad. But wish there was an inventory setting or something similar to where I can store away items to rebuild/rearrange my city. I’ve deleted and redownloaded the game to restart my build because I wouldn’t like how it was coming along at points. ### 2/5 — OK for one evening *2026-01-11, version 1.4.17* I downloaded this game last night and had a very enjoyable couple of hours playing, but the upgrade ramps up so quickly and there appears to be no way to make buildings produce coins for long once you’ve logged out so it’ll take way too long to make any progress. Shame as it was quite enjoyable. Also bug reported, watching videos to speed up buildings crashes the game. ### 3/5 — Great game but your greed is all consuming *2025-08-15, version 1.4.17* I loved the game, at first. But as time went on the coins started to lose their purpose because the further you level up you need utopium to do most things in the game instead of coins. Which, collecting coins is the whole point. And how do you get more utopium you ask? Either wait a week (checking the game every hour) or buy with my real life money, packs of utopium. Why? Why do you need to be so greedy I understand you need to make money off this but theres already so many ads. And you ruined your own game, FOR THE SAKE OF GREED. Upsetting. It’s cute. From what I’ve seen on the subreddit, it seems like the developer has removed a lot of the elements that made this game playable. It feels impossible to progress at a playable pace after finding about 80 of the jobs. My expansion cost is over $4 million, yet my city is earning around 300 coins per second with no way to really move forward at a satisfying pace. I want to play, but there’s nothing to do but wait. It’s frustrating, I want to find all the jobs, but I don’t see how I can keep playing if I’m only able to splice/get new land tiles every few REAL LIFE days if things continue at this rate. Once I got the hang of things it got so addicting!! I love the concept, the art style, the music, the customization of the town, truly everything! You can tell the developers put a lot of love and passion into this just from gameplay. It started off with me trying to find a fun game to play on the school bus in middle school, and now years later both my kids play it too. I have restarted on different devices over the years and it truly never has gotten old. I know a lot has happened with the original parent company, but you can tell just how much zest everyone who worked on this game put in it. I never wrote reviews, but I had to for this one! Free to play, been at it for over a week. Spent 2$ on it and thats a lot for me, I’m a cheap bastard! There are over 450 jobs in game btw, I saw the banner on here said 150 and I think that’s outdated. Just collected the last the clone and am hoping there is another update with more clones in the future. The humor and creativity of the designers is top notch. I grew up with this game and can’t thank the designers enough for their hard work. But like most other mobile games today, you can't because they rely on a handful of people who are dumb enough to fork over hundreds of dollars to play it. I was dumb enough to fork over about forty bucks for a few hours of enjoyment, but I have reached a point where I can no longer progress because I don't have enough U and you can't possibly make enough coins for expansion, as there is no offline earning. Instead of charging reasonable amounts and giving enough freebies enough to play, these stingy folks would rather you delete the game.
