Any long car ride, big spouts of boredom, or even needing to kill time before something, this game was awesome. Felt fresh and new Recently picked it back up due to a really long road trip to return disappointed. The game itself felt like its original self, but the overall experience was far from it. I understand there’s always ads and it had them prior as well, but it’s insane how much it’s flooded now for wanting to purchase an ad blocker. I unlocked the pro tour of the first 9 hole course and had 9 ads…. I couldn’t finish a hole without having to sit through a pointless minute ad then get flooded saying play our other games or purchase no adds. Super disappointing to see it’s got lost to the average day and age app of micro transactions. My only complaint about golf is the fact that when you start a hole the game basically suggests where to hit and with what club. There are tons of holes where it suggests you hit into the trees, and of course you need to use judgement but it’s misleading when you’re on hole 12/18 and you end up wasting 3 shots basically forcing you to restart ### 3/5 — Inconsistency *2026-07-26, version 9.1.4* The inconsistency with the power, range, and accuracy in this game is stupid (having the meter hit anywhere but the direct center of the green area will cause your shot to be skewed). Not to mention that hitting slightly too hard over the hole will be a missed putt. I understand the free version has ads. Firstly, the ads and in app purchases. I’m not bothered with the in app purchases, they’re all relatively fair and reasonable. However, getting ads after every other hole is ridiculous. If you play 18 you’ll be seeing 9-10 ads. That’s far too many. Secondly, the trees and how you aim your shots. Trees in this game stop your ball completely. Every time. Even if you graze them, your ball is dead on the spot. On top of that, the hit box for almost all the trees are far too big. making the tight, tree covered courses more annoying than actually challenging. Aiming around or over trees is very annoying as well because you’re not sure how high your ball will be flying, or if your ball is aiming into one. There’s a few other little things, like making the putting meter different than the rest. Don’t get me wrong, really great game. ### 4/5 — Trees *2026-07-12, version 9.1.4* Definitely a good overall game but the trees genuinely make it so annoying. In real life trees are 90% air, and even if you do get stuck, you can always punch out onto the fairway. But in this game, if you even grace the side of a tree it completely stops your ball and you have no chance of getting anything better than a double bogey. What I really think would make the game better is to add a punch out feature where it keeps the ball low, just so you can at least advance the ball and set up your next shot. ### 3/5 — Fix the trees please! *2026-07-09, version 9.1.4* This game is amazing except for one simple fact. Shots that logically for no reason should be landing amongst the trees do. The slopes and power meters effect are inconsistent, the guide lines up with the trees on certain holes, and the ball immediately falls to the trunk of the tree instead of powering through the leaves like in real life. Worst is the random wind effects, anything over 5MPH is a crapshoot for how it will impacts your shot. It can be so frustrating but it is the definition of easy to learn hard to master. Hitting that shot takes a combination of timing, familiarity with wind strength and direction, and knowledge of how the ball reacts when it hits rough vs fairway, and more. Watching the ball slowly plink into the hole on a 9.4 wind shot over the water and down a decline makes you feel like you are a master of the game. That is what makes this such a good game. Precision. In later courses, this is what matters. The wind is whipping back and forth, fairways are barely reachable and milliseconds are the difference between a perfect setup shot and sending your ball careening into the water. But when you hit it! Oh my god it’s like nothi- oh $#*!🤦‍♂️ of course the top of the branch of the tallest tree in the world is just sitting in the way and my perfectly hit ball barely catches a single branch of a tree, sending my beautiful shot plummeting into a guaranteed double bogey on the 16th hole of a course its taken me years to beat and now I can’t come in 1st. But that is what makes the game so rewarding. You have to know the course, know the terrain, and more than anything, understand wind strength and direction. Great physics, gameplay is as frustrating as it is rewarding. If you’re a gamer you know that one doesn’t come without the other. Suggestion: Player created maps. I would 1000% pay money to be able to create my own maps in this game. Imagine the community you could make if players could create and share their own maps. Some could become known as the most challenging and a trophy to win. Fairways could be impossibly thin challenging your accuracy and consistency.
