Greed prevails as always. I can tell this game has a lot of love tho. I may cave and end up paying the 3.99 or so for the other gamemodes Its good that it takes out ads if you pay for it tho it may be worth it in the end. ### 4/5 — Awesome game! Couple fixes *2023-11-04, version 1.0.9* I really like this game. The minigames are fun and addicting. The variety is cool on a lot of the Downhill and Slalom levels and the Ski Jump is really satisying. The key issue that needs a fix is that there are lag issues loading the beginning of every run on every sport, and much worse when you get a notification. The lag does not affect the timer so you will lose races if you get multiple texts. Slalom is probably the most fun to play but the starting lag makes some courses almost impossible and collision is a bit off for the gates. I have DNF’d a few times fully in the gate (Olympiad….), and gotten away with some where I totally missed LOL. Also when you purchase the full game it says you’re purchasing “All Equipment” but I still had to buy the equipment which was kinda lame. ### 2/5 — Bad controls *2023-02-02, version 1.0.4* The game is not bad, but it's ruined by terrible controls, and there is no option to change them. Left and right should be reversed, or even better, a thumb joystick would give better control. But it's unplayable as it is. ### 4/5 — Amazing potential, good game, has work *2023-01-21, version 1.0.4* Like the title says, it’s a good game (especially for a mobile game) has amazing potential to be huge, great, and not garbage. But there is work. I don’t know how to get to the other modes beyond paying for it —2 bucks for no adds — 3 for sports —4 for all equipment It’s a $4 bundle to unlock everything, however, I myself haven’t bought anything yet so I can’t verify how good the purchases are. Yes there are adds, but one maybe anywhere 3-5 courses (which can be easily avoided with a few strategies if it is really a problem) -The easy mode is actually pretty easy if you good at pro mode (if you get a first place in pro then easy is very easy) A little difficult to learn but you get the hang of it pretty easy. Criticism that should be fixed as soon as possible but isn’t urgent though I will warn you, it’s annoying — replay button for playing the same courses with taking a good minute going back through a lot of screens —no way to change equipment back to green/purple after buying the next tier —there is no way to opt-out of data sharing until the pop up shows up and asks at least to my knowledge (props for not being pushy about it) —consistently asks for you to download the other games (golf, baseball, tennis, snowball fight,) despite potentially already having them —consistently asks for you to follow on insta and Twitter Points that neutral but may be good/bad depending on the person -no update schedule (but games, particularly winter sports and golf, are updated decently and there haven’t been any bad updates to my knowledge) -small discord (easier to ask direct questions to the dev(s) but not a lot of people to play against/compare stats etc) At the end of the courses there is few shops, people with coffee/hot cocoa, I thought that was pretty funny. All in all, the menus are easy to figure out what each button is. (Career, shop, play, easy/pro, share replay, more games etc) if I could, 4.5 out of 10. Fully expect for winter sports and the other pixel pro games to get better as time goes on and get decently popular. ### 3/5 — Fun game but… *2023-01-21, version 1.0.4* Just not runnable on the latest iOS. Even with all background apps closed, the games are incredibly laggy. Which is a shame because the individual events are specifically based on timing, and when it’s laggy, you make mistakes that aren’t your fault. To fix this problem I think you should at least get hit once and slow down, not immediately fall. On the bobsled for instance, I will watch myself frequently get faster 2nd run times having missed several leans completely versus the first run that missed none. This is similar in the long jumps. I would also like to be able to hit the flags in the slalom. Otherwise, I do enjoy the variety of this game. ### 3/5 — Don’t pay for everything *2022-06-13* The downhill skiing part is pretty fun. Slalom is not as fun but still pretty entertaining. Bobsled and ski jump are both terrible. Save your money and just pay to remove ads (if anything). Don’t pay for the other game modes. They also need to make it easier to replay a level and skip certain events. You have to play every event to completion in order. They should make it easier to skip certain events, for example, skip to a certain week because it’s a world championship or Olympics. Or skip the slalom to play giant slalom. ### 4/5 — Fun Game, Needs Work *2022-05-24, version 1.0.2* Pixamo’s golf game is excellent, and this Winter Sports game has lots of potential, but it definitely needs some fixes. A few suggestions: -As one reviewer mentioned, this game NEEDS a “replay level” button. Going back through all the menus just to replay the same run is just poor design. It’s a no-brainer. “Replay” would be the most used button in the game. -It’s also annoying and bizarre that once you purchase a higher level piece of equipment, you can no longer use the previously owned equipment. Again, poor design, and it’s just plain weird. Once you’ve owned an item, why in the world would you lose it just because you purchased the next level item? Odd. -In addition, you claim that purchasing the full package buys ALL EQUIPMENT. This is false advertising. You actually only get the top level equipment, and you must still purchase all other equipment individually. -There are a few other things that could use some work, but I don’t want to beat up on the game too much. I found this game fun enough to purchase the full package, so I really hope these issues get fixed in a future update. (Not to mention that this game requires no internet connection to work) BUT There is a problem. I’m not sure if it’s just me but the only game mode that I’ve played is downhill and I’ve already mastered it in the span of 2 days, but all the other games that are shown on the screen supposedly need to be unlocked and for me, I can only unlock it by buying it. Why do you have to buy a game mode? The problem with this is that it has such limited options to pick from and I believe that this game has SO much more potential for game modes. I just want an explanation on why this is, or just how to unlock them without paying.
