## What is PixelDisc?

PixelDisc is a top-down 2D disc golf game with a retro pixel art style. Pick up your disc, read the course, and throw your way to the basket — one hole at a time.

THE THROW
Power, direction, angle, release — four taps, and every one of them is yours to get wrong. Aim along a compass arc that narrows as your accuracy improves. Set your release on a disc that really tilts, and watch it hold that angle down the fairway.

Give it more anhyzer than the disc, your power or the wind can carry and it turns over, loses its lift and drops out of the sky. Ease off the power and you can still save it. The preview line shows you exactly where it goes.

The two hands are not the same throw. The backhand is longer; the forehand holds a far deeper anhyzer without falling out of the air, and bites harder when it lands.

CAREER MODE
Build your player from the ground up. Earn PixelCoins on the course and invest them in private lessons: power and touch for each hand, plus putting and scramble. Buy discs and fill your bag. Every improvement is permanent and synced to your Game Center account — so your progress is safe even if you switch phones or reinstall.

Discs are real property here. Throw one into water or out of bounds and it can be gone for good — but someone always picks it up. Four times in ten they keep it. Otherwise they hand it back, ask a couple of coins for their trouble, or demand ten and let you walk away empty-handed.

A NEW COURSE EVERY DAY
Three daily modes, identical for every player, played on skills generated for the day — so the day is a level field.

DAILY CHALLENGE — three holes. Three attempts, your best one counts.
CLOSEST TO PIN — two shots from the tee, one backhand and one forehand. Lowest combined distance to the pin wins. One attempt.
SURVIVAL — an endless course that scrolls up and never stops. Land out of bounds, land in water, or let the wave catch you, and the run is over. Score is how far you got. One attempt.

Come back tomorrow and do it again.

WEEKLY TOURNAMENT
Two full courses open every week for all players at once, with a pool of skill points you spend before you tee off. Each hand is capped, so you build a cannon or a scalpel — never both. One attempt each, and progress saves between sessions so you can finish later.

CUSTOM CHALLENGE
Build a challenge and put it out there: 3, 6 or 9 holes, random or hand-picked, played with your own career gear or with skills and discs you fix for everyone. For three days after you finish your round, any player can attempt the exact same holes and wind to beat your score. Free to enter, free to lose.

QUICK PLAY
A round on your own terms, offline. 3, 6 or 9 holes, random or hand-picked, no daily limit, and your discs are never at risk.

LEADERBOARDS
Every career course keeps its own all-time record — set one and hold it until someone beats it. The daily boards reset each morning, and Survival and Closest to Pin each keep a permanent board on top: furthest total distance ever survived, and your ten best rounds averaged. Win a weekly placing and you carry it beside your name on the daily board all week.

RETRO FEEL
Crisp pixel fonts, a dark color palette, and a top-down view that keeps the focus on the shot. No fluff, no ads, no paywalls — just disc golf.

Works offline. Progress syncs automatically via Game Center when you're connected.

### 5/5 — Basic gameplay; rapidly improving

*2026-08-25*

Almost daily updates merit a five star. Dudes adding new stuff every day

**Developer response:** Thank you! Got a lot of feedback and good ideas after the Reddit launch. A bit of a longer release now but I'm preparing a lot for version 2.0 ;)

### 1/5 — Whack

*2026-08-23*

You spend more time spending your coins on lost discs than being able to spend them on skill points to improve your player. Too heavily skewed towards losing discs, although you get a “chance” at redeeming the lost disc…

**Developer response:** Why is that whack? Some aspects of the game tries to mimic real life. Without risk there's no reward!

Would love to bump that 1 star review into at least 2 if you keep playing it ;)

### 5/5 — Fun

*2026-08-22*

I haven’t been able to play IRL lately and this has helped me cope with that.
How can I see the round scorecard during the round?

**Developer response:** Thank you for your review! That's currently now possible but it has crossed my mind, noted!

### 5/5 — Simple but Deep

*2026-08-20*

Great adaptation and game design. Please allow us to turn off the result pop up after throws. It slows me down!

**Developer response:** Thank you for the review! Sure thing, I'll combine that with the graph setting.

### 5/5 — Thanks, good fun

*2026-08-18*

Hey man, thanks for putting this out there. It’s a lot of fun and we appreciate how quickly you’re putting updates out there. Great work, many thanks. I’m not much of a gamer, but I’ve enjoyed your game.

**Developer response:** Thank you, I'm very glad to hear that! Keep giving me feedback and I'll listen!

### 2/5 — Good bones

*2026-08-18*

I really want to love this game. The courses are fun and the idea is great! But… every disc is 5 coins and you get 3 coins per nine holes. My gameplay so far has looked like this: throw three holes, loose driver. Buy new driver after round. Throw 6 holes, loose driver. Play two courses without a driver to buy a new driver. Buy a new driver, then loose it. Repeat. PLEASE MAKE DISCS CHEAP OR USE A DIFFERENT CURRENCY FOR SKILL UPGRADES!

**Developer response:** I've increased coin rewards a lot. The daily game modes and quick play let's you earn coins without risk to loose you own. With increased skills you'll loose less discs I promise!

### 2/5 — Putting is terrible

*2026-08-16*

The idea of this game is genius. The execution however is not. The graph after each throw shows zero data as to how the throw is. Get rid of it. Putting: issue fixed for the most part. Measurment: what is a meter? Give an imperial option.
Keeping at 2 stars for now.

**Developer response:** Hi. I've listened! There's now a setting for using feet instead of meters. The graphs are hidden in some game modes and can be turned off for all game mode via settings.

Would love to increase that 2 star rating if you feel that I've acted on the feedback!

### 1/5 — FIX PUTTING NOW!

*2026-08-16*

Putting should not have a race car speed sliding meter hopefully hit green…. It is horrible. Awesome game designed PUTTING KILLS IT. Fix it!

**Developer response:** I've made it easier to putt inside the bullseye but the feedback from experienced players is that the putting is too easy (compared to real life). Have you tried different skill levels in Putting Practice or quick play?
Would love to turn you 1 start review into a higher number!

### 4/5 — Cool, but that wobble!

*2026-08-15*

Pretty cool game. Enjoyable as a nice little time sink/destraction.

Only thing i dislike is that the wobble will randomly give you 80% innacuracy. The "help" says you have to time the wobble, but there isnt a wobble gauge, so I assume its just random?

Still fun though.

**Developer response:** Hi. That was a old note and it's been updated. Wobble is generated randomly but the max value is based on the player skill, shot power and disc speed.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.5 — 2026-09-05

Three ways to throw, in Quick Play and Custom Challenge.

EZ — no timing at all. The disc leaves at exactly the power, direction and angle you aimed at. Wobble and skip still roll.

HARDCORE — the meter is untouched, but every prediction is gone: no flight path, no spread, no skip range. A small arrow shows which way the disc leaves your hand, and direction is all you set before the throw.

NORMAL — the game as it was.

A challenge names its mode before you join, and both play it the same way.

### 2.4 — 2026-09-04

Your disc comes home. A disc stolen from you and later lost by the thief now surfaces as yours again — you get the news, the ransom and the disc.

A low power skill no longer punishes you twice: it costs a low ceiling, not a faster bar. Scramble recoveries are now the hardest shot in the game, and a SCRAM toggle in the driving range lets you practise them.

Turn +1 discs finally fly overstable.

Plus: a gentler angle lesson, six skills on the weekly leaderboard, twice as many disc names.

### 2.3 — 2026-09-01

Lost discs turn up twice as often now, and they stop vanishing: a disc you were shown and walked away from goes straight back into the pool instead of sitting in limbo overnight. The career menu tells you how many are out there waiting.

Throws no longer start from the same angle every time.

Weekly Tournament rounds now pay 3 coins each. Quick Play pays 1 for a full nine.

Plus a clearer skill readout on every challenge screen.

### 2.2 — 2026-08-31

Two aiming bugs, fixed.

The direction bar was capped at 45° either side of straight ahead. It should never have been — that made sideways and backward shots impossible, so getting out from under a tree or back up the fairway wasn't a shot you could play. It now covers the full circle.

Dragging the disc to aim was broken outright: the grab area sat in the wrong place, so it never responded. It works now.

### 2.1 — 2026-08-31

Lost discs now go somewhere.

Put one in the water and it lands in a shared pool instead of vanishing. Another player can find it — and they decide whether to keep it, hand it back, or hold it to ransom for PixelCoins. You'll hear what happened to yours next time you open the menu.

Park a drive high enough in a tree and it can stay there too.

Your bag now shows whose disc you're actually throwing.
