There are a lot of photos / they won’t fit on the local storage of the old iPad. Set this app up to view the share on my nas, indexed and it worked like a champ. I am having a small issue now where the no WiFi icon is showing up but it continues to play and restarting the app seems to clear it. **Developer response:** Thank you very much Rowley! Regarding the no WiFi symbol, it might be that the iPad has a weak wifi reception and/or that the NAS doesn't answers quickly and then the app goes into offline mode. ### 5/5 — gesucht – gefunden *2023-10-06, version 1.15.3* Ich suchte nach einer Möglichkeit, um Bilder von meiner Synology im Haus zeigen zu können, natürlich als Dia–Show. Es sollte außerdem möglich sein, auszuwählen welche Bilder dies sein sollten. Mit Pixette fand ich dieses Tool. Genial einfach, einfach genial. WebDAV eingerichtet auf der Syno, 2 alte iPad … und schon hatte ich was ich wollte. Klasse App. Sehr fairer Preis. Die App ist eine super Lösung für alle die eine gute Slideshow erstellen möchten. Es können Fotos und Videos eingebaut werden und alles funktioniert 1a. Wichtiger ist jedoch noch der Support, den ich nicht gebraucht habe, weil etwas nicht funktioniert, sondern weil ich einen Vorschlag für ein neues Feature gemacht habe. Der Vorschlag wurde angenommen und innerhalb von wenigen Tagen umgesetzt. So kann die App groß wachsen und bei vielen Anwendungen unterstützen. Wir nutzen die die APP als zufällige Anzeige von BIldern in einem Webdav-Ordner wo verschiedene User Bilder und Videos hinterlegen können. Das funktioniert perfekt. Vielen Dank für diese großartige Leistung zu einem absolut fairen Preis! // The app is a great solution for anyone who wants to create a good slideshow. Photos and videos can be included and everything works 1a. But more important is the support, which I didn't need because something didn't work, but because I made a suggestion for a new feature. The suggestion was accepted and implemented within a few days. This allows the app to grow big and assist with many applications. We use the app as a random display of pictures in a webdav folder where different users can deposit pictures and videos. This works perfectly. Die Verbindung funktioniert reibungslos, und die Diashow läuft stabil und zuverlässig. Was noch verbessert werden könnte: Die Uhrzeit wird aktuell nur sehr klein oben in der Mitte angezeigt – genau dort, wo auf vielen Fotos helle Bereiche wie der Himmel sind. Dadurch ist sie oft schwer zu erkennen. Leider lässt sich weder die Position noch die Größe der Uhr anpassen. Diese App auf Apple TV wäre eine Bereicherung! ### 4/5 — Great App… *2026-05-02* Greetings….found your app a week or so ago and was getting it (v2.3.11) tested on my iPad Pro (iPadOS 16.7.15) using the SMB connection option. All was working great and came back to leave a comment and noted v2.3.12 was available. Installed it, activated subscription and continued testing and have encountered issues using the SMB option - - SMB protocol connection shows good - indexing notes correct file count in selected folder - upon entering slideshow, only a single image is displayed (using shuffle / fade modes). Image will only change with a complete relaunch of the app, but no image transitions. The app has everything I need! Any suggestions? **Developer response:** Hello! Sorry, I introduced a bug in version 2.3.12. But we have had odd issues that keep it from being perfect… First off, it seems that it doesn’t randomly play ALL files it finds. It’s indexed like 10k pictures but it seems like it rotates through the same small pile over and over. I will often see the same couple of pictures several times in a single day. With over 10k images that shouldn’t happen. Second, this latest update has brought about some oddities. It wiped out my server settings and it’s been awhile since I set that up so had to remember all that. Next, and probably worst so far, the sleep function now doesn’t work as it once did. It used to turn the screen off completely but now it just sits at an illuminated black screen, which uses more power and puts off light all night. Weird. Hopefully these small bits get resolved as overall we love it. **Developer response:** Thank you so much for the feedback. I'm continuously working on improving the situation. I'm taking some days off for the holidays but I'll return to it ASAP to fix the sleep mode. Last days, I was working trying to bring stability for older iOS 12.5.7 devices. Basically, the random function shuffles all images into a random list and then goes through it. I could implement a reshuffle once the whole list has been played once to improve the experience 👍 Thank you for your support 🙏 ### 4/5 — Latest version has some issues *2025-11-26, version 2.0.6* Great app and was working perfectly until the latest update. The developer has completely re-written the app and this has caused a few issues for my setup: - Lost all my app settings after the update, including WebDAV connection info, so had to set up all three of my frames from scratch - Exif info font is now huge and covers far too much of my photos. There doesn’t appear to be a way to change this The developer has, however, quickly resolved a couple of other issues and is very responsive to feedback, so my thanks for that! It really is a great app, which I’m happy to support with the small subscription the developer charges for full access. ### 4/5 — Mega App! Etwas mehr Sicherheit erwünscht *2025-11-25, version 2.0.5* Super App! Ich nutze es als Digitalen Bilderrahmen zum anzeigen von Fotos eines Nextcloud accounts. Um den Großeltern aktuelle Bilder ihrer Enkel anzuzeigen, ohne das Fotos zu einem Drittanbieter hochgeladen werden müssen. Einfach in der Nextcloud einen extra Benutzer anlegen nur für Fotos. Im Anschluss kann man in den iPhones einfach diesen zweiten Nextcloud Account hinzufügen um dort Bilder hochzuladen. Die App erkennt die Bilder automatisch und fügt sie in die Diashow ein. Ist die Nextcloud über eine Domain öffentlich verfügbar funktioniert das eben auch von überall und nicht nur im lokalen Netzwerk. Wünschenswerte Features: Damit die angezeigten Bilder NICHT über den Teilen-Button weitergeleitet werden, sollte der Button deaktivierbar und das wieder einschalten passwortgeschützt sein. Generell sollte es Einstellungen geben, die nicht ohne Passwort einzustellen sind (zum Beispiel kann das Passwort der Serververbindung im Klartext ausgelesen werden.) Dann werden es sofort auch 5 Sterne. ### 4/5 — Neues Leben fürs alte IPad *2024-10-13, version 1.17.0* Tolle App um seine Fotos so nebenbei zu präsentieren. Unser altes IPad hängt in der Küche und die Familie versammelt sich regelmäßig um in Erinnerung zu schwelgen. Ein Punkt Abzug gibt es für das Abo Modell. Every day, I use it on my iPad to enjoy the nearly 90,000 photos and videos stored on my Synology NAS. It truly feels like taking a beautiful trip down memory lane every single time. And yet, no one until Pixette seems to have made that possible. But it is now, and it works very well. The developer’s instructions about setting up the NAS properly were clear and pretty easy to follow, even for someone like me who is not very knowledgeable about NAS drives. Plus I had a question or two and wrote to the developer about them—and was delighted to receive a prompt, courteous, and helpful reply. Also, the app freezes every so often and stops displaying new images. Up until version 1.17, the app indexed all of them without any issues. However, starting from version 2.0, the app crashes when the indexing is almost complete. After restarting, it begins indexing all over again.
