## What is pixometer?

Understand your energy usage with pixometer

With our pixometer App, you’ll get a grasp of your energy usage. Scan your meter using the camera of your mobile device – just as simple as a barcode. pixometer will even read the result to you aloud.

Register a free pixometer account so you can edit the provided example meters in the pixometer portal (https://pixometer.io/portal/) to match your actual meters. In this way you can also save all your readings with date, time and a photo proof. You can use the same account on multiple devices to get synced data. Sharing an account with your family makes everyone participate.

When scanning your meter with the pixometer app on a regular basis, you’ll soon get an understanding of your energy usage. You can also use the app to snap your meter reading if your tariff is about to change or if you need a proof for other reasons.

The pixometer app recognizes mechanical counters (single and double tariff) as well as digital LCD meters. If the scan mode does not automatically snap a picture, tap the capture button to take a picture and enter the reading manually. Our algorithms will learn from all saved images (anonymously) so that the next update will deliver improved recognition performance.

Was wird hier weiterentwickelt? In der Version 1. 8 von 2019, die aktuell im AppStore steht, wird nicht mal ein Standard Wasserzähler von Techem. Die App steht nur Minutenlang mit „Suche Zählwerk“. Da kann ich mir gleich einen Zettel nehmen. Selbst die geräteeigene App erkennt den Zählerstand und lässt den Wert exportieren. Da erwarte ich sowas erstreckt von dieser App. Besonders wenn dafür geworben wird: „ Unsere App setzt auf maschinelle Lernverfahren. Sie wurde mit mehreren Tausend Zählerfotos trainiert – sollte Ihr Zähler trotzdem keinem der Trainingsbeispiele ähnlich sein, kann die Erkennung fehlschlagen. 
Wir verbessern die Erkennungsleistung der App kontinuierlich. Sie können uns dabei helfen: Jeder erfasste Zählerstand erweitert unsere Trainingsdatenbank (anonym) um ein Bild.“. Wer Trainingsfotos nutzen möchte, sollte diese auch zulassen. Das geht aber in dieser App nicht.

es gibt jedoch verbesserungsbedarf. z.b. kann man die zählerstände nicht manuell eingeben. diese MÜSSEN fotografiert werden, was eine auswertung der vergangenheit unmöglich macht.

beim digitalen Zähler, wenn man die Taschenlampe anmacht und seine Hand vor die Dioden hält. Würde mir noch eine Siri/Kurzbefehlfunktion wünschen, damit man direkt beim starten der App zum einlesen kommt, indem man den Favoritenzähler vorher auswählt.

Gut gemachte App. Mit fehlt ein senden der Daten an den Ableser bzw. Anbieter pro Zähler oder Zählergruppen. Damit würden Wege erspart und der Service erhöht werden. Auch die Angabe von Zählernummern habe ich nicht gefunden. Sowie die Farben grau und Silber fehlen. Noch besser wäre auch eine freie Farbangabe.

Habe mehrere Zähler probiert, weiße Wasserzähler kann er gar nicht, Stromzähler mit schwarzem Zählwerk nur ohne Blitz und mit nicht. Wenn man die Updatehistorie anschaut, hat das Unternehmen keinerlei Willen daran etwas zu ändern. Des Weiteren kann nur ein Preis für die Wasserzähler hinterlegt werden, was natürlich total Sinn macht, da jeder weiß, dass jeder Haushalt Warm- und Kaltwasserzähler zu unterschiedlichen Preisen hat.

Ich bin sehr zufrieden mit dieser App, weil sie mir das Ablesen und Erfassen der Daten erleichtert. Der Scanner arbeitet sehr zuverlässig (vorausgesetzt, man schaltet das LED-Licht dazu ein).
