First, you are charged money for two scans. And then they also demand money from you for a subscription! I signed up and eventually found that the app did not translate anything. ### 1/5 — Not worth it *2019-06-30* Have used this app off and on over 5 years. It’s always been a painful experience. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t. Unstable is probably the best word. And believe me, I’ve checked connectivity, capacity, phone s/w and any other potential issues not related to app, but it still only works occasionally. ### 1/5 — Cost even more $$$ to OCR. SCAM! *2019-03-10* Purchased this as part of a bundle of their productivity group of apps. Originally Pixter scanned and OCR’d just fine. NOW you need to buy required the “PRO” version to OCR a document. What a rip off!!!!! DO NOT buy this scam!!! ### 1/5 — Don’t buy it! *2018-12-26* You have to pay for every scan. In app price you have only two scans! Don’t waste your money!!! ### 1/5 — Difficult *2018-09-08, version 3.1* In the time it’s taking me to figure out how to get the text I want from the photo, I could have typed it up myself twice. ### 1/5 — Garbage! *2018-07-15, version 3.1* Downloaded to attempt use of the translate function and it does not work. As a scanner it works OK but I have better scanners from other companies. ### 1/5 — Don’t bother *2018-07-03* £1.99 upfront and then you have to pay another £7 if you want more than 3 translations. Pure rip off. ### 2/5 — Good OCR *2018-06-28* The Best thing I can say about this app is it has 90% good OCR for English. The app crashes when a document is deleted. It is extremely hard to crop a text scan. You can import a previous scanned document that cannot crop at successfully. ### 1/5 — Pixter OCR app *2018-06-23, version 3.1* I don’t remember how long ago it was that I wrote my original review below, but opening up a Pixter to “OCR” a page out of my son’s book, I find that if I want to do what I have been doing for several years, I now have to pay for it. It seems that there have been other changes to this app that had me scratching my head. It had previously been simple and intuitive to use, but not today. So, I withdraw the five stars I had given it in my previous review from whenever that was. ——————— PREVIOUS REVIEW: Like one of the reviewers before me, this is my first time writing a review for an iPhone app. This one is perfect. I went to a bulletin board nearby, used this app to take a picture of a lot of text in the ad, and converted it to text that I was able to use immediately.
