An app that uses the foursquare API to hone in on the nearest pizza place. Perfect for the inner Ninja Turtle in all of us. If you're a foursquare user interested in leveling up your Pizzaiolo badge, this app is magic. It turns up a lot of places that don't show in the 4sq search. You'll be level 10 in no time. Now they just need to make an app for all the other badges. ### 4/5 — Not yet available everywhere *2013-09-22, version 1.0* Doesn't seem to work in Atlanta yet, but I love the concept and UI ### 2/5 — Nice idea but missing the 'killer' features *2013-09-16, version 1.0* This would be great with two more things: 1. The option for users to put in pizzerias that the app doesn't already have. 2. The option to rate each pizzeria. I was within 2k of five pizzerias but it told me the nearest place was 46k away. Probably partly explained by the fact that I'm outside the US, but easily rectifiable by letting me add the information to help the community. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Cute but useless *2019-07-29* Points to the 5/10 restaurant instead of the 8/10 one next door, also missing a great pizza restaurant nearby on the map view **Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback! Sometimes the best pizza is the closest pizza, we don't discriminate. We use the Foursquare API, so if you find a missing restaurant, submit it to Foursquare and make sure its tagged as a pizza place. Buon appetito! ### 1/5 — Doesn't work *2017-09-25* Crashes constantly, has frozen my phone on more than one occasion. Buyer beware. If you don't like restarting your phone multiple times, don't download. Hope your smug superiority was worth it :) ETA: Thanks for the flippant response, jacka**. You still didn't even address the issue I mentioned. Why would a pizza app need constant access to the compass, not just while using the app? Screw off. **Developer response:** Sorry that caught you off guard, but it's called Pizza Compass for a reason. We need access to the compass in your device to show you pizza. But don't worry, we only access for access when you are using the app *not* background access. And it's true we don't have address entry, but the app is only meant to show pizza nearby. However you can move the app to a different location if you wish. I'm in Phoenix AZ!!! Needless to say no pizza is found in the ocean. Glad I didn't pay for this or would be very upset. Should have a zip code or state search button. This app states there is no pizza in the area. Could have been a good idea but the app is worthless.
