I also cannot rename a set of cards, or copy or move them to a new list and have them stay in order. They randomly shuffle their editing order during the move rather than duplicating straight across. Even if I try to move a single card from one list to another it randomly inserts somewhere in the deck rather than the end. Good Flashcard app, but if you need the cards to stay in order when moving, editing, or studying it is highly inconvenient. ### 4/5 — Please solve this *2026-04-10, version 2.5.0* My iCloud storage shows 1.7 GP used by plain Flashcards, but no decks are visible in the app. Syncing says up-to-date. Reinstalling the app did not restore the deck. As a student, I use Flashcards everyday and this app is more efficient than making paper flashcards. Its UI is beautiful in its simplicity and even has a built in translation function- perfect if you’re learning another language! I use it for every subject as it’s the most effective form of memorization for me. It even includes a space retrieval function helping you sustain your knowledge. Now, I thought I would be using this app without worry till the day I die. UNTIL text to speech was suddenly introduced. It sounds pretty bad in other languages, I clicked the button a few times, laughing at how it sounds horrible in Spanish. And then an ad for Pro showed up?! THIS APP IS NO LONGER ENTIRELY FREE. I think having a subscription for this app is outrageous, because its features are so simple. It’s a great app but its functions aren’t otherworldly… the reason why it’s loved is because it’s free. I know I’m exaggerating, but as a student it’s hard to find free study materials. Especially ones without AI. The app is still useable, but I was taken by surprise at this sudden change. I hope the developer reads these reviews and realizes that students typically don’t have the time or money to keep up a subscription. I understand they need profit but maybe they could introduce other features, instead of taking away vital ones for cash. They also got rid of the shuffle button ☹️ I don’t think probability should be behind a paywall, as the shuffle button is a really important feature to me and enforces active recall. If you’re okay with the occasional Pro ad, and not being able to use the shuffle tool. Totally go for this app. I know desperate times call for desperate measures, so this change makes sense. It’s a disappointment nonetheless. I will still use this app, as it is somewhat free- and still better than other apps, but I’d rather get ads than lose that shuffle button lol ### 2/5 — Almost there *2026-02-20, version 2.1.1* I like to study the same deck multiple times a day. Please remove or change the feature that won’t let me study my deck until the next day. Я создал новую карточку и добавил в неё фото, однако это же фото заменило другое изображение в другой карточке. Затем я поменял фото в той карточке — и точно такое же изображение появилось в новой. Ваше приложение очень хорошее. У меня есть два предложения: 1. Было бы полезно добавить функцию переноса карточек из одной колоды в другую с возможностью выбора — от одной карточки до всех карточек в колоде. 2. Исправить функцию произношения текста в карточке, чтобы английская сторона озвучивалась на английском языке, а русская — на русском. I really don't get it but otherwise it really is perfect. ### 2/5 — Update broke scrolling *2026-01-26, version 2.0.0* Let it be known that this was without a doubt my favorite app for Flashcards. Simple, hassle free, but effective. However, the most recent update made navigating through the Flashcards a nightmare. If there was an option to restore the old scrolling it would be fine, but there isn’t. You have to swipe quickly to move left and right through the cards, but it’s really finicky, and very easy to accidentally mark a card as “learned” when just trying to move to the next card. As of 3 days ago I would gladly give this app 5 stars, but if nothing is done to improve the user experience problems caused by the update, I’ll have to keep this review up until the issue is resolved. ### 4/5 — New update *2026-01-24, version 2.0.0* Very good but swiping the cards feels harder after the new update ### 3/5 — This is great BUT… *2026-01-21, version 1.21.0* I wish there was a way to see a list of all the cards in the deck. So I can select one and edit. And when I make a new card it will automatically show me the card so made. If I make a mistake or a typo it’s so hard for me to find the card I made the way it is now. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Don't pay - it doesn't work *2026-08-05, version 2.5.3* I've been using Flashcards for quite a while now, and I really liked the app. However, I've been repeatedly prompted to pay to get more translations. Given that I use the app so much I was happy to do this. Oh how I wish I hadn't bothered! Not only does paying for it not give me access to more translations, I'm also still prompted to 'pay up' up every time I try to use it. Worse still - there is no place that you can go to to get help. I tried to send a message on the company website and it got rejected because the company server isn't functioning. Go figure! I've tried everything I can to not give them a one star review, and give them a chance to fix it, but I'm now over $17 out of pocket for something that doesn't work. I tried to get a refund, and that doesn't work either. Absolutely can’t find anything in the settings to revert this. ### 1/5 — Translation completely stopped working after about 20 minutes. *2025-06-25, version 1.21.0* It was nice having the translation available, so i didn’t end up learning a wrong word or construct because i had initially input it incorrectly. I don’t find this app useful for learning a new language without that function. I remember realizing I needed to pick up better study habits then turning to the App Store, but struggling because so many other apps were paid or had too many paid features. This was the only one that had the key, primary features for free! Along with that, the creators themselves are amazing. I remember bringing up an issue I had, followed by them fixing it within that same week. I pair this with my Duolingo and Busuu lessons easily, I switch between apps and input any words or grammar concepts I’m working on.
