### 4/5 — No widgets

*2026-01-30, version 1.10.0*

Please add widgets

### 5/5 — Awesome!

*2025-04-30, version 1.10.0*

The only thing that is missing is widget support.

### 5/5 — 🎈

*2025-04-24, version 1.10.0*

im so happy this exists

### 5/5 — Great org mode on the go!

*2025-04-15, version 1.10.0*

Being able to view orgfiles on the go away from the desktop is simply awesome. Images are visible, internal links seem to work. Still developing, but already usable.

### 5/5 — Making org work for iOS

*2025-04-09, version 1.10.0*

This app is exactly the thing for you if you like using org mode and want to take some of the functionality with you. Of course you won’t see all of the bells and whistles of full org mode on the desktop but it works very well. Perfect for checklists you want to edit on either mobile or desktop environments, for being able to keep track of your todos while on the go, even grocery lists. Excellent support for getting files to and from the app, excellent and very responsive developer. Highly recommended- I use this app daily.

### 5/5 — A place for notes that is my own

*2025-03-29, version 1.10.0*

I like using this app for my main notes. I can work in plaintext everywhere between plain org and emacs and feel that my writing is my own. Apple Notes is great and has a million features, but incredibly doesn’t have a bulk export feature. Effectively anything you make there is trapped.

### 5/5 — Finally

*2025-03-24, version 1.10.0*

Finally an org which I will use and makes sync just work with little overhead. Great job!
Now checking out *scratch* & journelly

### 5/5 — Great little note-taking app

*2025-03-18, version 1.10.0*

The rest of my note taking is in org mode, with some files hosted on iCloud Drive. Plain org gives me an ability to read and write notes on the go and share between my computer and mobile devices.

### 5/5 — A different take on org tables editing!

*2025-03-15*

Plain org is an org files editor, allowing to edit org tables, view images and so on. Also, the UX is quite good. I hope that one day the agenda functionality will also be added, but it is also useful as it is now.

### 4/5 — Awesome to have Orgmode on iOS

*2025-03-07, version 1.10.0*

This is wonderful ; the power, flexibility and versatility of Emacs Org-mode on iOS. Plain Org implements well with a simple UI easy enough to use by anyone

### 5/5 — Worthy

*2025-02-23, version 1.10.0*

Go ahead and buy it. You won’t be disappointed. Good notes & planning app, even if you aren’t an Emacs user. If you are, what are you waiting for?

### 5/5 — The best org editor on iOS.

*2025-02-17, version 1.9.0*

Works flawlessly. I highly recommend this to anyone even using the org format a little. A complete game changer.

### 4/5 — Great app, hope more features are added

*2025-02-11, version 1.9.0*

Overall I really like this app! It seems to be the only app that supports google drive as a sync source and works well with it, although occasionally there will be a hiccup and I have to restart the app for the sync to work.

### 5/5 — Some complaints but still 5/5

*2025-02-08, version 1.9.0*

Automatically paste plain org in every file that you make or don’t forget to call granny.

Wish that he had templates mode but still a very good app.

Would be great to have org mode but there’s already beorg for that

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Mistake. Waste of money

*2026-04-07, version 1.10.0*

I was wrongly steered to this app. Since it cannot read my repo, it’s a wasted $12!!!

### 1/5 — Had to Purchase

*2025-06-01, version 1.10.0*

The tool doesn’t perform as advertised there isn’t a way to color text or create colored stars. Yeah I can create an agenda, but this app falls short of being Org Mode for note keeping in my opinion

### 1/5 — I lost work to this

*2022-03-27, version 1.2.1*

If you type something in and close the keyboard your text disappears. I lost work I spent time on because of this. The app would be nice if it didn't do that but that makes it less than useless for me.

### 2/5 — Great UI and idea, but unusably slow

*2026-07-27, version 1.10.0*

I’d love to give 5/5, but it’s just slow and nonresponsive. I’ve tried with new org files and tried archiving a lot of my running notes and taste, but it just lags at the best of times. The UI is nice and the idea is great, but the execution just doesn’t work for me. I hope it improves!

### 2/5 — Sync with dropbox

*2025-05-02, version 1.10.0*

From the description I thought I could sync my files with Dropbox but unfortunately it doesn’t seem to be available 🙁

### 2/5 — Good for iphone but not ipad

*2023-10-07, version 1.7.0*

No keyboard shortcuts whatsoever.
When a file is opened, headings are always collapsed. And there is no way to change that unless i manually do so for every single heading.
No support for todo states either :(

### 2/5 — Pasting doesn’t seem to work

*2023-02-10, version 1.5.0*

Pretty critical for a text editing app to allow pasting of content.

### 2/5 — No Dropbox?

*2022-05-25, version 1.4.0*

No Dropbox connectivity? None that I can finger out. Not useful for my workflow

### 3/5 — Tags are missing though

*2026-05-22*

Edit: Keeps hanging and resets everything typed so far.
Edit: Tags are supported.
It would be nice if one could use the clock-in command in Plain Org to measure passing time on scheduled tasks or headings. E.g. A button to
[Edit Add Reorder Delete Clock-in]
and a notifier like the round plus to also clock out the currently selected heading there.
If there is a button for that, I wasn’t able to find it.
Old:
Currently there is no support for tags in the heading.

**Developer response:** Thanks for reviewing!

For tags, long press a heading and select edit. You can add and remove tags.

### 3/5 — Would be five stars if they didn’t

*2025-02-05*

Automatically paste plain org in every file that you make or don’t forget to call granny? Especially for a paid app? Am I missing something or? Is there way to get different templates?

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Super useful!

*2025-12-22, version 1.10.0*

One of the nicest interfaces, heavily recommend.

### 5/5 — Schöne, leichtgewichtige Org-App

*2025-11-21*

Andere Org-Apps können mehr, aber keine geht so flott von der Hand wie Plain Org. Wenn man nur schnell was filen will oder ein paar Checkboxen antippen geht das hier einfach besser.
Dazu sieht die App gut aus, was will man mehr?

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2025-10-25, version 1.10.0*

Like this app for it simplicity

### 5/5 — Tags are missing though

*2025-10-16, version 1.10.0*

Edit: Tags are supported.

### 5/5 — Excellent app!

*2025-09-06, version 1.10.0*

Best org mode viewer on the Apple ecosystem. It’s so much better then the alternatives that the gap alone is worth the $15 for the app

### 5/5 — Good software but currently broken

*2025-08-13, version 1.10.0*

Not sure where to file bug reports. If it’s non-maintained it should be taken off the App Store because currently it’s impossible to edit files with recent iOS updates.

### 5/5 — Great app for org files

*2025-07-28*

Simply great for viewing and editing org files on the go. I tell everyone about it.

**Developer response:** That’s lovely to hear. Thank you for telling everyone!

### 5/5 — 5 star

*2025-06-25, version 1.10.0*

Totally awesome

### 5/5 — Perfect Org viewer

*2025-05-31, version 1.10.0*

This app is everything I’ve been looking for in a simple, quick org-mode viewer on my phone! I mostly manage the content of the files on my computer, but I needed a nice way to interact with the data when I was out and about. I’ve tried a few other apps, but this one is by far the best.

### 5/5 — Org mode on iphone

*2025-05-20, version 1.10.0*

Happy to see a modern org mode iPhone app. Some color might be nice for headers and emphasized text, otherwise upon first impression, I am impressed. I am using synctrain to get the documents on my phone
