## What is PlainMind?

PlainMind is a calm place for the links, images, places, and ideas you want to remember, and it sorts itself.

Save from any app in one tap. PlainMind organizes what you save by what it is, and when the same phrase keeps turning up in your notes, it offers to gather those saves into a collection. Or make a collection yourself and pick exactly what goes in. No tagging, no folders, no decisions in the moment.

It's anti-feed. No infinite scroll, no algorithm pushing you toward what's popular. Your library is yours. Quiet, considered, the opposite of a social app.

COLLECTIONS, FOUND OR MADE
• PlainMind notices the phrases you repeat and offers to group them
• Make your own collection and add any save to it by hand
• Take a save out of any collection, and it stays out
• Items join and leave on their own as your notes change
• Pin any search and it becomes a collection that stays current

WHAT YOU CAN SAVE
Links, images, PDFs, places, plain text, music, podcasts, and video, straight from the share sheet, on iPhone, iPad and Mac.

READ, MARK, KEEP
• Reading mode: just the title and the words, with a table of contents
• Highlight a passage and add a note; everything you've marked is together in Highlights
• Listen to a saved article, read aloud on your device (Pro)
• A copy that outlives the link: articles and their images, kept for when the page is gone (Pro)

FIND IT LATER
• On-device search across titles, notes, and text read from your images and PDFs
• Filter by type, source, or when you saved it
• Siri and Spotlight know your saves

BUILT TO BE QUIET, AND FOR EVERYONE
• Rich previews: album art, map snapshots, link previews
• A widget that resurfaces something worth revisiting
• On iPad and Mac, a sidebar with everything iPhone has
• Light and dark, contrast that meets WCAG AA, and Dynamic Type at every size
• VoiceOver throughout

YOURS, AND PRIVATE
PlainMind is local-first. What you save stays on your device unless you turn on iCloud backup. There are no accounts, no tracking, and no ads.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.5.2 — 2026-10-27

A fix for long website names.

• Long website names no longer push an item's page past the edge of the screen. A long name now ends in "…".

### 1.5.1 — 2026-10-26

A couple of fixes.

• On iPhone Duo, an item's page now stays clear of the bar down the side of the screen, on the outer and inner displays.
• The Save button in the share sheet is easier to read, in light and dark.

### 1.5 — 2026-10-25

Collections, your way.

• Make a collection yourself. New Collection is in the Library's ⋯ menu under Collections, in Manage Collections, and in the sidebar on iPad and Mac. It can also gather on its own: saves whose note mentions its name join by themselves.
• Put any save in a collection by hand: Add to Collection in its ⋯ menu, swipe a save in your library, or select several and choose Collection. On the Mac, right-click.
• Take a save out of a collection with a long press on its page, even one PlainMind suggested. It stays out, and everything else the collection gathers keeps arriving.
• Each collection opens with what it gathers and how to add more, so you can see why a save is there.

Easier for everyone
• Easier to read. Secondary text, labels and buttons now meet the WCAG AA contrast standard, in light and dark.
• Larger text works throughout. Titles, labels and cards follow your text size, and at the largest sizes long titles wrap instead of being cut off.
• VoiceOver reads each save in full: its type, title, source and date.
• Screen titles match across the app, and the first run is a page shorter.

### 1.4 — 2026-10-20

PlainMind, made for reading — and now on the Mac.

Highlights and notes. In reading mode, select a passage and choose Highlight, and add a note if you like. Everything you've highlighted is together in Highlights, by article or passage by passage.

A copy that outlives the link. PlainMind keeps each article and its images, so if the page disappears from the web, your copy doesn't. See how much space it uses, or turn it off, in Settings. Pro.

PlainMind on the Mac. Save from Safari with Share to PlainMind and read your library in a window with the sidebar. One purchase covers iPhone, iPad and Mac.

Also in this version:

• Collections open on their own page — pick one from the Library's ⋯ menu and its saves are right there.

• An article's page shows its short description and Read, with the reading time.

• Reading mode has a table of contents — tap a section to jump there, and Listen jumps with you.

• Download a better voice while Listen is playing and it switches over at the next paragraph.

• Tidy your sources: merge two that are really one site (Pro), and hide the ones that are just noise.

• Siri and Spotlight know your saves as PlainMind items.

• Collection suggestions are on from the start for new installs.

• Widgets keep up with your library as you save, and with your other devices.

• Send Feedback attaches a diagnostics file — app health only, no titles, links or notes — and you can remove it before you send.

### 1.3 — 2026-10-18

PlainMind, whole on iPad — and two new ways to read what you've saved.

iPad now has everything iPhone has: Search with every filter, your collections in the sidebar, collection suggestions and a source filter. Keyboard shortcuts (⌘1, ⌘2, ⌘F), Spotlight results and links all open where they should.

Reading mode. Open a saved article and get just its title and its words — no images, no panels, nothing else.

Listen. PlainMind reads a saved article aloud with your device's own voices, and keeps reading with your phone locked. Nothing leaves your device. Pro.

Also in this version:

• Bring your bookmarks. Import the bookmarks file from Safari (Reading List included), Chrome, Firefox, Pocket or Instapaper. Each link keeps the date you saved it, and anything already in PlainMind is skipped. Settings > Your Data.

• Give a collection an icon, and put your collections in the order you want. Pro.

• A new first run that sets PlainMind up in your share sheet one step at a time, then walks you through your first save.

• New saves show up in Spotlight straight away.

• Pro on a new device: if iCloud sync is waiting for PlainMind to restart, it now tells you, instead of quietly keeping a separate library.

• Fixed: a collection could be made twice when the names differed only in capitals.

• A smaller download.
