### 5/5 — Lifesaver

*2026-07-19, version 3.7.9*

If I could only keep one app, this is it. I love collecting recipes and trying different things. This app is the best. I can save recipes from anywhere. Tag them, categorize them, assign cuisines. So many was to organize and find things to make. It’s also really easy to plan and create shopping lists. Then you can check off items in your pantry so you don’t waste money buying items that you don’t need. Bam! Love this app! It’s also integrates with Walmart and other shopping apps so you can have your items ready to pick up or get delivered.

### 5/5 — Best meal planning and shopping app

*2026-07-19, version 3.7.9*

### 5/5 — Great meal planner and recipe saver

*2026-07-19, version 3.7.9*

I can easily save recipes and plan my meals with this user friendly app. It is not expensive and I have used for many years. I have saved time and money.
It is a US based app and I am in the UK and this means the grocery options are not so useful, but overall great and I will continue to subscribe

### 5/5 — Love It!

*2026-07-19, version 3.7.9*

This app has been a tremendous help to me. It does so many things. Save a recipe in the app, plan your meals for the week. It makes your shopping list for you automatically. Print your list, and take it to the grocery store. When you make a meal you’ll have all the ingredients you need.

I have saved time and money by using the app. Try it out, you won’t be disappointed.

### 5/5 — Everything I’ve been looking for in an app!

*2026-07-18, version 3.7.9*

My husband and I have been using PTE for 2-3 years now. It’s been an amazing app. So easy to use, Import new recipes from websites or even from a screen shot. It’s been a game changer for meal planning

### 5/5 — Love it

*2026-07-18*

This is the best app we’ve used for grocery shopping! It imports recipes directly to a shopping list for you, whether they’re your own recipes or recipes from the app. My wife and I also made a staples list that saved on the app. For our weekly grocery trip we click on the staples list, scroll down the page and select all the staples we want to get that week, then we add on whatever else is needed for the week. One thing that I wish it had was a way to note, if you’re going down the staples list to create a quick shopping list for the week, “Hey, someone (aka your wife or partner) already added this item to your grocery list for the week…do you really want to add it again or did you just not know your partner added it?” Maybe a shopping cart item next to each product in the staples list if it’s already on your shopping list for the week? I’m saying this because sometimes one of us will, in the middle of the week, add something like peanut butter to our list, and then the other of us will go in and click on things from our staples list that we need and peanut butter will be added twice.
Anyway, this is above and beyond everything we’ve ever tried and we love it.

### 5/5 — Thankful

*2026-07-18, version 3.7.9*

I was an early adopter to Plan to Eat — 10+ years using this great app!

In that time, it has continued to get better and better, and I’m so thankful for the way that it not only helps me stay organized, but also how it improves communication within my family.

### 5/5 — Still helpful after all these years!

*2026-07-18, version 3.7.9*

We’ve been using Plan to Eat for several years now and I stand by my original 5 Star review (below). PTE makes planning meals and shopping for groceries so easy!

Original review:
Having been shopping & preparing meals for over 40 years, I thought I had a good system. This app takes my good system and makes it great. It has been super helpful during the holidays & with large gatherings because you can easily update the servings for a recipe and it automatically updates your shopping list to reflect the changes. Same thing for modifying recipes down to just serve 2 when it’s just DH and me at home. Much less wasted food!

### 5/5 — Mrs.Smith

*2026-07-17, version 3.7.9*

I have used this app for years. I share it with my friends and encourage them to use it, especially those that want to budget meals well and meal prep and for weight management. It is incredibly helpful.

### 5/5 — Great Organizational Tool

*2026-07-17, version 3.7.9*

Love this app. All my recipes in one place. Easy access-easy to use!

### 5/5 — The best meal app

*2026-07-17, version 3.7.9*

Plan To Eat is my most-used app. I love to cook, and my dinner meals are anything but dull. I actually use new recipes, as opposed to just saving them. There are so many other features, I know, but I mostly use it to plan my weekly meals. I can look back to see what I made for, say, a birthday dinner, or Christmas Eve, to help plan for future celebrations. I can also see the recipe source (I make note of it if the recipe isn’t one I have stored in the app). If you love cooking, you’ll love Plan To Eat!

### 5/5 — Works great for us.

*2026-07-17, version 3.7.9*

We really like this app. The easiness of moving recipes there won me over.
We use it daily for all recipe plan.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Annoyed

*2026-07-09, version 3.7.9*

Was free until it wasn’t. That’s all I have to say. Lost my recipes bc of this. Thanks.

### 1/5 — Requires subscription

*2026-01-24, version 3.7.2*

I was using this app for about two weeks and when I went to add meals to my planner for the next week, it would not let me get off a screen informing me that my free trial had expired. I didn’t even know I was on a trial period. So unless you’ve got money to subscribe, don’t bother with this app.

### 1/5 — Love it!

*2026-01-18, version 3.7.2*

I use this app almost every day. Very convenient and easy to copy new recipes I find on the internet.

### 1/5 — Pretends to be free, charges you

*2025-11-10, version 3.7.0*

This app gives no indication that it’s not free but forces you to pay after two weeks for a subscription.
Not worth it

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2025-08-05, version 3.5.3*

Won’t save recipes from the internet; just continuously returns to the explanation page of how to save recipes from the internet.

### 1/5 — Not free and not good

*2025-06-29, version 3.5.2*

The app lures you with “free” but then when you download it’s a free trial with an annual fee.

Additionally, the app is clunky and not streamlined or user friendly.

### 1/5 — Expensive bait and switch

*2025-06-17, version 3.5.2*

The annual fee is way too high for a ‘free’ app

### 1/5 — Overpriced garbage

*2025-05-19, version 3.4.11*

Free app until you download and then it’s a free trial before a hefty YEARLY payment? Not to mention it’s a “free” app with literally no free features? Yikes, wish I could report apps for stuff like that, instantly deleted

### 1/5 — Paywall

*2024-02-02, version 3.1.9*

You have to subscribe to use any of the functions. Don’t bother downloading.

### 1/5 — Can't make account

*2022-03-12, version 2.9.5*

The signing up process doesn't work- it's doesn't send any code to verify your email.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Love this app

*2026-08-05, version 3.7.9*

This app saves me so much time in menu planning. It is so easy to download recipes from Pinterest or Instagram or any other place. Easily makes my shopping list for me. I could not live without it.

### 5/5 — Puts responsibility on all family members

*2026-08-02, version 3.7.9*

This app is a game changer. My family all have a link to the account. We pick and shop for chosen recipes at beginning of week — most pulled from our fave recipe site, Nytimes. Then everyone knows what’s for dinner so whoever is available initiates and no last min decisions or shopping necessary. Have used it consistently for almost 6 months and can’t live without it

### 5/5 — Food waste and $$$ saver

*2026-07-20, version 3.7.9*

I have been using the app for several years. It makes menu planning so incredibly easy and efficient. I love being able to paste recipes straight into the app from all sources, and then have it create a grocery list with all of my other planned meals. My food waste is almost non-existent as I buy what I need, which definitely helps the budget too. Highly recommended!

### 5/5 — Great tool to save my favorites!

*2026-07-20, version 3.7.9*

Love this, super easy to use and works great!

### 5/5 — Fantastic!

*2026-07-20, version 3.7.9*

I love Plan to Eat! I import my favorite recipes from the Internet and it keeps me from dealing with ads, lengthy blogs, etc. while trying to read the recipe. And, there's a link to the recipe if any clarification is needed. I have also added my own favorites to it and have access wherever I go. Great product - I’m in my third year of utilizing it.

### 5/5 — My fave recipe app

*2026-07-20, version 3.7.9*

I’ve subscribed to Plan to Eat for years now. It’s my favorite place to store recipes I use again and again as well as new ones I want to try. Keeps everything orderly, and it’s so convenient when I’m out grocery shopping!

### 5/5 — Love this App

*2026-07-20, version 3.7.9*

I have been using Plan to Eat for years. This is a great place to save your favorite recipes. Easy to use and also great for planning!!

### 5/5 — Must Have Meal Planning App

*2026-07-20, version 3.7.9*

This app has saved me so much time each week in planning. I set up menus for a month and then copy it into the current month in minutes. Then I add all the ingredients to shop hit a button and it searches my Walmart app and adds all of the items to my cart. I review what I really need and schedule for pick up. The most time I’ve spent in this app was adding in recipes I already had but adding new recipes is easy as clicking a button in your browser. Best app I’ve used. Yearly sale on Black Friday.

### 5/5 — Wonderful, easy tool!

*2026-07-19, version 3.7.9*

I have been a PTE customer for many years. Love the ease of the platform and app. The team is consistently improving it somehow. My kids are “grown and flown” now but I still find PTE super helpful and kids are meal planners in their own rites now!

### 5/5 — Makes it easy!

*2026-07-19, version 3.7.9*

I’ve been using Plan to Eat for years. While I was hesitant about a subscription service, this one has been worth every penny. It makes saving recipes super easy from the Internet, from photos and even from TikTok. There’s a list for your staples that you can customize and add whatever you want. I share my login with my children and they help to keep the grocery list updated. I tell them that if they don’t put what they want on the list, they can’t complain about not having their favorites in the house.
