### 4/5 — Hoping for an update with settings

*2021-06-23, version 1.9*

Great app! I realize that this app shows the actual amount of space that the constellations take up from our perspective on earth but was also hoping to switch back and forth from this view to a Western Tropical Zodiac display of the signs with each sign fitting neat into 30 degrees portions of the sky. The precession or “the wobble” of the earths orbit was discovered by the Greek astronomer Hipparchus in BC times and written about by Astrologer Claudius Ptolemy in the Hellenistic era. Even though the original observations of the constellations informed what were believed to be characteristics of the Signs of the Zodiac, it was deemed more important to keep the Astrology locked into the Equinoxes and Solstices. Because amount of light, length of day and seasonal changes were considered more important in this geocentric system than our shifting view of the stars. Most astrologers in India use the Sidereal Zodiac which is locked onto the constellations and not the Equinoxes and Solstices. This system is also not perfect because it also uses 30 degrees for each of the different sized constellations. The reason I believe it would be beneficial to include Zodiac options in your settings is because of the thousands of years of history associated with these beliefs. After all thousands of years ago people did a lot more sky gazing. Anyway I wouldn’t be the only one that would appreciate this being an option and your app would become far more popular. Also you are using the Aries glyph to represent the lunar north node which is going to confuse people. Cheers

### 4/5 — Great App

*2014-01-09, version 1.6*

I would give it 5 stars if it used the built in compass and turned the wheel to where you are facing.

### 4/5 — Very nice app

*2013-11-21, version 1.6*

Helps extensively with navigating the planets in the sky. First time using the app I found myself navigating the sky with ease found Neptune Uranus and Venus all w/o any problem. User friendlyness throughout.

### 4/5 — Easy too use.

*2013-10-17, version 1.6*

Works great, if you can see stars you can identify them. Plants, Moon all covered nicely. old511

### 4/5 — Worth it.

*2013-05-26, version 1.6*

Great app, but don't stop working on it. How about a little detail on the zodiac and maybe an astrology mode. And what about Pluto. It may not be a planet, but it hasn't disappeared. This app has great potential.

Would love to see a top-down of the entire solar system so you can easily tell where the planets are in relation to others.

### 4/5 — Very good

*2012-11-06, version 1.5*

Very good but it needs a heliocentric function. Then it would be awesome.

### 4/5 — Good graphics

*2012-10-13, version 1.4*

A handy and well done app. It is only missing a Sun centered display that shows the current positions of the planets.

### 5/5 — awesom app

*2012-06-20, version 1.4*

I love this appv

### 5/5 — Are YOU a PLANET WATCHER?

*2012-04-25, version 1.3*

If so, get this app!!!!
Very easy to use, all the planet info you need. Excellent for seeing what is up and when! Excellent format. I use it EVERY DAY!!!

### 4/5 — App

*2012-04-09, version 1.3*

Great app!

### 3/5 — Planet finder

*2012-03-28, version 1.3*

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2012-03-24, version 1.3*

I wanted to track the moon for photography and got much more... The whole solar system! Great job!!!

### 5/5 — MusicAbbott

*2012-02-14, version 1.3*

Nice display. I would like to set my city and state manually for different locations that I travel to. But thanks for the quick look.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Needs a lot of work

*2015-11-15, version 1.8*

The instruction are incomplete , this is hard to use and not a substitute for the old cardboard sky maps. The time seems to be in GMT even though you set your location. I regret buying this and will look for the old reliable cardboard star chart.

### 1/5 — Worst app

*2015-10-31, version 1.8*

Nothing works on this. Taking UK date time. Unable to set the date time. Location ...

Very frustrating ...disappointing

### 1/5 — Not aligned right

*2015-04-15, version 1.7*

I have checked my location, time and date and the planets are still not aligned properly. I have compared to other charts which all agree with each other except this one. Needs to be updated.

### 1/5 — Good concept but just doesn't work.

*2012-12-03, version 1.5*

Controls not there. Location screen won't close until iPad restarted. Graphics have big square over image that's supposed to be there. The list goes on....

### 1/5 — Planet Wheel problems

*2011-05-05, version 1.2*

This appears to be a handy tool for viewing objects in the night sky. However it shows the sky as if you lived half way around the world! By always adjusting the clock 6 hours it works but is annoying. If there was a way to adjust it or get a reply from the creators this would be a nice app.

### 1/5 — I don't like it

*2010-09-27, version 0*

This a horrible application.....

### 1/5 — Planet wheel

*2010-08-14, version 0*

Terrible. Does not work correctly. Does not update with time changes. Gives no relevant information for finding anything. I want my $.99 back!!!

### 2/5 — Uummmm.....

*2012-06-22, version 1.4*

This is a direct quote from the app which is supposed to be a guide to finding objects in the sky: "Objects in the Ecliptic of the Solar System .....rise in the east, pass across the sky in an arc, and set in the east".

I am only a beginner but something about that seems a little off.

### 3/5 — Great app but could be better

*2020-09-25, version 1.9*

RA and declination are much harder to use than elevation and azimuth when a quick fix is needed, especially if not familiar with the area. Would prefer to have this selectable in a settings menu.

### 3/5 — Location Services not working

*2015-03-05, version 1.7*

So, it's tough to review the app when the Location Services setting keeps getting unchecked. This results in the app not knowing where you are- kind off important in an app like this...

-- updated to 3 stars from 1 for within hours of being notified of the problem they have confirmed the issue and are working on a fix- a very good sign!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Fun and worth the investment

*2022-05-12, version 1.10*

This an enjoyable way to understand time. It is a great gift for anyone of any age interested in the stars. It is also very handsome and a great addition to your IPhone.

### 5/5 — Love it!

*2016-05-23, version 1.9*

A great app!

### 5/5 — Very Detailed

*2016-04-24, version 1.9*

Beautifully designed!

### 5/5 — One of my favorite apps

*2015-10-26, version 1.8*

This app is really well designed. I like the concept of showing the planets this way, with the rising and setting horizons shown. Clicking on the planets gives info about them, and there is also a pop up legend for the planet symbols and a star map. I'm very happy with it.

### 5/5 — Zodiac dependent

*2015-03-20, version 1.7*

I love this app because I use it to figure where the stars, moon and planets are aligned in the use of reading ones zodiac signs. By knowing someone's aligning planets and astrological sign you can figure out about their daily mood. I look to this app when ever I feel particularly over energetic or upset and see if it because of the alignments of that day.

### 5/5 — Cool!

*2013-03-07, version 1.6*

I like this app, very handy and a nice addition to my astronomy hobby

### 5/5 — Fantastic App

### 5/5 — Planet Wheel

Great app for planet gazers of any level. Keep working on it, it can only get better.
