### 5/5 — I love this app

*2025-10-15*

I found the developer on a Reddit forum promoting their app Ploi and immediately downloaded it. I had been struggling to find an app that I could count on without having to pay out the wazoo just to have a simple reminder of when to water my plants. I’m so glad I found Ploi, it’s been super helpful and amazing. My plants have thrived as a result of using this app and I couldn’t be happier! I highly recommend if you love and want to take care of your plant babies like I do 💚🌿🌱

### 5/5 — Simple and Straightforward

*2025-10-12*

After trying a few apps, I was frustrated by constant subscription spam and AI advice at every turn. I wanted a basic, bare bones scheduling tool with complexity only when I asked for it. This was the first to meet that criteria and it’s served me well since then.

As a bonus, the developer was responsive when I sent in my own feedback.

### 5/5 — Best Plant Care App I’ve Ever Used

*2025-10-12*

I’ve been using Ploi for more than a year now and every update keeps adding features I didn’t even know I needed. I use this app daily to keep track of 150+ plants and I couldn’t do without it.

### 5/5 — A MUST HAVE APP

*2025-10-09*

I’ve been using this app for a few months now, it’s very good to use to track maintenance schedules if you have multiple plants, especially those needing careful attention. I wish it had a tab for common problems with the particular plant species listed in ‘My Plants.’ Another useful feature would be, how to tell if my plant is happy. Overall this app is great and I’ll continue to use it just as it is!

### 5/5 — Fantastic

*2025-10-08, version 1.10*

Great functionality, lets you keep track of your own watering schedule for plants you add, organize them by room or location, and the free version is plenty for most users - up to 20 plants and 100 photos.

And no Ads!

### 5/5 — Game Changer

*2025-10-01*

After trying a couple of other apps, I found Ploi around July and it was really good from the start. Over the last couple of months the app has only gotten better. I couldn’t have kept track of watering and fertilizer schedules otherwise. Huge thank you to the dev for continuing to improve it and for making it so visually engaging. Every morning I look forward to opening the app after my set 8am reminder.

### 5/5 — Great app, exceptional customer service

*2025-09-01*

I was looking for a simple app to track water, fertilizer and treatments of my plants and came across this one. It’s exactly what i was looking for. Very easy to use and provides me with the exact info i needed. I added all my plants and then accidentally deleted the app. I emailed the developer to see if he could restore it expecting it to take several days for him to respond. Not only did he respond within about 5 minutes he restored all of my info that same day. I would continue using the app even if he hadn’t done because i like it so much but super impressed that he did!

### 5/5 — Amazing App

*2025-08-27, version 1.9.7*

This app is exactly what I was looking for. Love that it send me reminders on when to water my plants. And not only that, it offers much more!

Thanks for making it free and with no adds!

### 5/5 — Love this app!

*2025-08-20*

I was lost when my previous plant tracking app ended their support. But then, Ploi found me. I mainly use Ploi to keep track of which plants have been watered (and fed), and when. It works perfectly for this, and has a really nice interface. I especially love that I can add activity for previous days (not to mention the many, many activities that you can track, from watering to wiping leaves to misting, even tracking when it rained for your outdoor planty friends).

Thank you, Ploi!! :-)

### 5/5 — useful tool

*2025-08-17, version 1.9.5*

It's a very useful tool. This app can dynamically give watering reminders in time based on the historical frequency of watering.

### 5/5 — 🌿A Must-Have for Any Plant Lover!🌿

*2025-07-15, version 1.9.2*

Love this app! It makes keeping up with watering and fertilizing so easy. I get reminders for each plant, and I can track everything from growth to repotting. It’s super simple to use and really helps me stay consistent with plant care. Total game changer for my plant routine!

### 5/5 — Useful watering planner

*2025-07-07*

Just what you need for watering your plants. Easy to adjust watering times. I was tempted to take a star off because this is really a front end for a web service. It absolutely refuses to run if you don’t have Internet, and behaves poorly if your network connection is flaky. (UI just doesn’t update… changes don’t “stick” etc.) Everything it does could be on device, but no. But bottom line when you have internet it is exactly what you need. I’ve been using it daily for a couple of months now.

### 5/5 — So useful!

*2025-07-04, version 1.9.2*

Exactly what I was looking for to help manage my plants! I love this app

### 5/5 — Perfect!

*2025-06-14, version 1.9.2*

Amazing app! Could be perfect with some minor tweaks/bug fixes:

- The widget view doesn’t display my plant photos, just generic ones :(
- It would be nice to be able to add plants directly from the identify feature and/or use that to fill in the scientific name field
- I noticed the location and watering schedule was wrong immediately after adding a plant. Closing/opening did seem to fix this.

Update: The widget now displays my plant photos :) Thank you for your quick response and for developing this awesome little app!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Doesn’t disclose

*2026-01-19, version 2.0.2*

It fails to disclose you can’t have the amount of plants you want until you buy a subscription. App not worth it at all.

### 2/5 — Only free up to 20 plants…

*2026-06-18*

I’m sure this is a great plant care/tracker/ID app, but just know that you can only track 20 plants for free (it’s $79.99/year to track more). The dev needs to be upfront about this ON THE APP PAGE. I spent multiple hours inputting 66 (YES, SIXTY-SIX) plants and their info, only to get an IN-APP pop up, on my third day with it, about the 20 plant limit. Way too many hours wasted setting up an app I can’t afford…

**Developer response:** I’m sorry. I understand your frustration. I need to make it more clear. Thank you for your feedback 🙏

### 2/5 — Better than some, worse than others

*2025-11-17*

Biggest flaw is that the watering schedules don’t stay consistent, they’re only based on the last watering interval which is pretty useless in practice. For example, if i forget to check on my plant for a week the new schedule is going to be a week longer. Everytime I don’t water on exactly the right day I have to go in and manually readjust the schedule. With 40+ plants things get disorganized pretty quick. There is no search feature either, you have to manually scroll through everything. Could be more user friendly. Really there’s no good app for this since Vera left the app store.

**Developer response:** Hi there!
There is a search feature, it’s one of the 4 tabs at the bottom. There you can search for any specs AND your plants.

Watering schedules adapt based on your schedule and that is the main feature of the app… if you forget to mark as watered this shouldn’t be a problem since you can set it as watered retroactively, you just need to back-date those logs. It auto-adapts based on last 3 waterings, so forgetting to mark as watering sometimes won’t affect that (as long as you back date your logs of course)

I hear you though, I’ll add a fixed interval option. Thank you for your feedback.

If you will have any questions - don’t hesitate tot contact me via the contact button in the app. Happy plant journey!

### 3/5 — Good but need performance issue looked at

*2025-02-23, version 1.8.3*

Love the app but it takes alot of time to load (I have about 30 plants).

### 3/5 — Slow

*2025-01-09, version 1.8.3*

This app gets points for simplicity and functionality, but it is sometimes inexplicably slow. There is no reason anything this app does shouldn’t be near instantaneous

### 4/5 — Simple and fast compared to others

*2026-05-03*

This app keeps things simple in a good way. It lets you organize and log what you need without a bunch of forced features or overcomplicated “AI” rules that get in the way. (Other apps try to do too much and end up making basic tasks harder—this one actually lets you stay in control and move quickly.)

It does feel a bit newer, so the plant database (especially photos and accuracy) could be more robust - I expect it will get there over time. That said, one standout feature is how it handles plant names—it recognizes a wide range of common and colloquial names, which makes searching much easier than in other apps.

**Developer response:** Hey! Thank you very much for your review! This means a lot to me 💜

### 4/5 — Great, but…

*2025-09-12*

I’ve catalogued hundreds of plants, and it’s the best app I’ve used so far!

Only issue seems to be server-based. About once a day I have to close and re-open the app due to freezes… and once a week the app refuses to load due to a timeout error. I wish most things like notes & names were offline, but it seems like it all depends on your connection. I understand for updating photos & syncing to desktop, etc… but it does make the app overall feel like a demo more than a full-featured experience.

To recap, NO ADS alone will keep me using Ploi! But minor hinderances every day adds up to a slightly frustrating user experience.

**Developer response:** I understand your frustrations! I’m working on making it more stable! The server side component was a deliberate choice to make it work from the web as well. I will work on some offline functionality in the future, but no promises on the timeline yet. Thank you for your feedback 💜

### 4/5 — Very promising

*2025-06-09*

Amazing app! Could be perfect with some minor tweaks/bug fixes:

- The widget view doesn’t display my plant photos, just generic ones :(
- It would be nice to be able to add plants directly from the identify feature and/or use that to fill in the scientific name field
- I noticed the location and watering schedule was wrong immediately after adding a plant. Closing/opening did seem to fix this.

**Developer response:** Thank you so much for the feedback!
- The widgets showing generic photos is unintentional. I’ll get that fixed. (Update: ✅ Fixed)
- The plant’s scientific name does auto-update from photos, but only when we’re very confident in the match.
- I’ll definitely look into this!

💜

### 4/5 — Great, simple app

*2025-06-07, version 1.9.1*

I really like it, it works well and does exactly what I need it to do. Is there any way to add a “rotate” option to the quick actions?

### 4/5 — Pretty good app

*2025-05-11*

It’s pretty basic. A good way to log plants and how often to water them. My issues with the app are wanting to be able to log multiple plants at once which it can’t do. And as I have almost 100 plants, it’s too time consuming to log each individually if you miss a day. I also wish there was a way to log when I apply fertilizer for multiple plants. Again, if I have to go into each individual plant and log an activity, it’s too time consuming.

**Developer response:** Hi there!
Thank you for your feedback!

You don’t necessarily have to go into each plant; there’s a quick-log menu next to each plant. I do see how this can be cumbersome though. I’ll have to add a way to select multiple plants and then log an activity for all selected…

Do you mind emailing me at help@ploi.me? I would appreciate it if I could get more feedback on this use case. 🙏

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Finally the solution to my watering problems

*2026-08-04*

This app has helped me get the watering of my plants right. The plants are now thriving with less issues of root rot occurring.

**Developer response:** Hi there! This is my favourite kind of review to get 💜 Overwatering is exactly what the log is for: you can see how many days it has actually been since the last watering, and Ploi flags a gap when it runs unusually long. So glad your plants are thriving 🌿

### 5/5 — Simple, Efficient, & Secure!

*2026-07-08*

I was looking for a straightforward plant watering tracker that didn’t have a shady privacy policy a million miles long. I appreciated the one I saw for this app and thought I’d give it a try. It has turned out to be exactly what I was looking for! It’s pretty intuitive to use and has a streamlined UI. I like that I can quickly check off when I’ve watered things, separate my plants by location, and let the app predict the next watering kind of like a period tracker. I’ve upgraded to pro now that I have more than 20 plants. I do wish it was slightly cheaper since there may be some months I can’t fully justify $6 on an app subscription, but otherwise I plan to keep using it!

### 5/5 — Update - An App Developer Who Cares

*2026-07-07*

I originally reviewed this app last year after my go-to scheduling app left the App Store. My biggest gripe with Ploi was the adaptive watering system. I’m sure this works for many, but it did not work well with my brand of plant care. Ploi responded to my critical review, and has just added a fixed interval option for watering. It is so awesome to see an app creator who truly cares about the user experience, even if it was just one user’s experience. With the new watering feature, this app perfectly suits my plant tracking needs, and I would highly recommend it :)

**Developer response:** Hi there!

### 5/5 — Perfect for the plant parent who needs the essentials

*2026-07-03*

This is the best plant care tracker app if you want to track watering, fertilizing, repotting, anything else in one place. I tried over 30 plant care apps and this one stood above the rest by miles. It helps you maintain a schedule and also makes it easy to be flexible, because sometimes your plant can wait another day or two for water! End your search here, this is the best app for plant care

**Developer response:** 30 apps is a serious search, thank you for ending it here 💜 And yes, sometimes a plant really can wait another day. That flexibility was the whole point 🌿

### 5/5 — Great

*2026-05-27*

Never wrote an app review but I think it’s great, very useful, and found it because if I recall correctly the owner was promoting it on a certain post.

Regardless I’m no pro, recently only getting into houseplants. But this made things 1000x easier than a google doc. It’s great and I like that it’s free, at least for now that I have 10 plants. If I recall you have to pay after a certain amount

### 5/5 — Great plant care app

*2026-05-16, version 2.2*

Nice and simple and not overly bloated like the other plant apps.

Helps you keep track of all your plant admin and just works.

Highly recommended.

### 5/5 — Love the photo gallery feature

*2026-05-06, version 2.2*

I LOVE the photo feature and how it chronologically sorts the pics! I finally have a proper place where I can see my plant growth progress :D

### 5/5 — Free, and super good

*2026-04-22, version 2.2*

I love how it isn’t pushy about anything like a subscription. It has a super easy to navigate interface and cute aesthetics.

### 5/5 — The only watering app that works for me

*2025-12-27*

I’ve tried a number of plant watering apps and they just haven’t worked for me. I’ve been gardening for over 50 years and the reality is that no one can follow a schedule etched in stone. Variability in both environmental conditions and personal schedules make it impossible to maintain a fixed schedule. This app recognizes both of those realities. What’s more: I reached out to the developer with a question and received a response almost immediately. Can’t rate this one highly enough.

### 5/5 — Perfect design

*2025-11-21, version 1.11*

Very lightweight and easy to use. Clearly tracks your watering schedule without fuss or complicated setup. I ended up liking this better than other apps that made tracking too time consuming to be worth it.
