I love how beautiful and minimalistic it is, but unfortunately, it will not work for my collection in LECA. This worked for. Few weeks, long enough for me to pay for it. Now the badges don’t work so it’s basically worthless for me. ### 1/5 — Deceptive. *2025-05-29, version 3.4* It doesn’t tell you anywhere in the app description that you have to pay £2.99 to put more than 4 plants, “all the plants!” In app purchases isn’t exactly telling. Would’ve been a good app but I won’t pay out of principle.. let people know. ### 1/5 — Useless *2024-06-03* Breaks every month and wont show any saved plants or when to water So everything the app should do, you effed up. ### 1/5 — Fine until it wasn't *2024-02-09* I recently ran out of iCloud storage space and had to delete some data. I turned off iCloud permissions for this app and deleted its data thinking it would still be stored locally. When I opened the app today all my plants had been deleted. I only had five, so it didn't seem like a huge deal and I started adding them again, planning to leave a 3-star review questioning what exactly is preventing me choosing to only have my data stored locally (as there is no setting in the app for iCloud sync). I then discovered that there is now a limit to the number of plants you can add for free, and I could only have 4 out of my 5. So it's down to 1 star and I will be deleting the app! To be completely clear to the developer, I am not frustrated because there are in-app purchases, I am frustrated that something that was previously a free feature has now been paywalled. I really do appreciate that it's a small one-time purchase and not a subscription, and I am more than happy to pay an indie dev for an app that's functional and useful, but frankly I use the stock Reminders app on a daily basis anyway and an entire extra app that I can't be sure will save my data is not worth any amount of money just to keep track of less than half-a-dozen plants at a time. I will pay for premium features in a new app if they are clearly advertised as such, and I will pay for new premium features in an app I already use. I will not suddenly start paying for features I have already been using for years, even as a one-time purchase. (This didn't fit anywhere else: it really doesn't help that the library of notification messages is so limited. The humor is the main draw of the app in my opinion, but there is so little variation that it gets old pretty quick.) **Developer response:** Hey there, I’m sorry about this experience you’ve had. I can help explain a bit. So plants are stored locally if iCloud is turned off for the app, but if they were stored in iCloud originally and then you delete that data, they will indeed be deleted, unfortunately as you’ve discovered. My plan for the app was for it to be free with the option to tip, but I ended up receiving very few tips and it wasn’t maintainable. I had to introduce an in-app purchase to store an unlimited number of plants, and this has allowed me to continue to work on additional app updates. Everyone who tipped got this feature for free. I aimed to be clear about this in the What’s New text and app description. I understand this was a frustrating experience and if Reminders suits your needs, no hard feelings from me! I hope this helps to provide some clarity, and if you’d like to stick around I believe you’ll have a better experience going forward. And if you have any recommendations for additional notification messages feel free to send them my way and I’ll add them! :) ### 2/5 — Major downfall *2022-10-23* This app is great and I’ve used it to remind me when to water my collection of plants for over a year. The BIGGEST and most disappointing thing; my app has crashed twice and deleted all of my plants. The first time this happened I took the time to reupload all my plants and pictures. This happened again today. I decided there’s a better app out there Not a huge deal if you have 5 plants… just something to think about before you upload +100 plants. **Developer response:** I’m sorry to hear that. Did your iCloud setup change at that time? The only scenarios I’ve seen that would cause your plants to be deleted is if you turned off iCloud, signed out, or deleted its data in Settings. If it wasn’t deleted from iCloud you can recover it — this can be determined by checking how much space is used in Manage Account Storage in Settings. ### 3/5 — Perfect conceptually, but… *2025-12-27* The app is PERFECT! Setup is amazing, format is beautiful, if you have four or less plants, this is for you! After that, it’s 3 dollars— NOT A LOT, I know, and I understand that the creator needs to earn off this and I respect it! I’m just someone who really doesn’t like paying for things I don’t have to. My props to the creator though for the design! It’s a beautiful app, like I said, and if I were a spender, I would 100% put the money in your unlock the rest of my plants, just not today! Keep creating though!! ### 3/5 — Needs more *2025-01-05* The app is basic but clean UI and easy to use. It could improve by including reminders for plant food/fertilizer, and a second & third water notification if you miss a day (I always clear the notification when I’m at work and then forget when I get home). I like the cheeky notification messages but a lot of them just repeat, would like to see a bunch more variety. ### 3/5 — Good reminder- Limits Plants *2024-09-06* When I first got this app years ago it was an unlimited number of plants (or at least more than I needed to set reminders for). Then it cut down to like 8. Then, when I opened the app today, it deleted my 6 plants I had saved in there from at least 2 years. And I couldn’t enter more than 4 new ones without having to buy the unlimited spots. It’s a cute, funny app, just been frustrating me. **Developer response:** Hello! Yah the app was originally just tip supported, but very few tips were received so I had to introduce a purchase to add an unlimited number of plants for those who hadn’t tipped. Purchases allow me to continue to work to improve the app. However it shouldn’t have deleted any plants, it sounds like maybe something could have gone wrong with iCloud.
