We have trained a machine learning model to detect plant diseases and pests with photos. Take or load a photo of the infested leaf, fruit or of the insect and the app will detect the plant disease respectively the pest. It will then load the description and image from the identified disease or pest so that you check if the result is correct. It will also provide suggestions for preventing and treating the disease or controlling the pest. The plant specific models recognize the most common diseases of the listed plants and provide suggestions for preventing and treating the disease. We recommend that you use the plant-specific model whenever applicable. You have access to an extensive lexicon describing measures on how to prevent and treat plant diseases and pests based on biological treatment methods. We list the substances enabling you to find the specific product in your country. As an additional help you can use our check list that filters diseases by color and shape. Just push the buttons for color and shape and the system will provide you with a list of possible diseases. You can also filter insects by by category and color. In the plants section you can find a list of common diseases and pests for the active plant with specific recommendations. Due to the large number of possible symptoms, the model can only deliver results with a certain probability, which is also indicated next to the identified disease. Un saludo ### 1/5 — Utterly Useless! *2020-05-28* The app 'works' by the user taking a picture of suspected plant problems for comparison - only it does not work! Upon pressing the 'Choose' option with a picture open the app simply crashes and closes - no results are shown. **Developer response:** This is the first time this issue is reported and we have never had this before. Unfortunately we cannot reproduce the problem. Since an update of the app with a new recognition engine is due in June we recommend that you install the update and try again. ### 1/5 — Waste of money *2020-04-24* The app can’t identify a picture of the vine leaves. It’s unable to see the issue and marks another. It’s unable to validate what the issue is and nor can it help solve the problem. Don’t waste your money on it ### 1/5 — Does not work *2020-04-05* I am having an issue with my red Pentas. A mineral is missing in my soil. So I took a photo of my penta leaf and the app indicated the problem is peach leaf curl with a 15% probability. I took numerous photos and it kept referencing the peach tree. I also took a photo of a sunflower that has a fungal issue, but the app recognizes it as a pest rather than fungus. However, the app did successfully identify damage from a snail. But I’m still disappointed because I bought the app for my pentas. Snail/slug damage is easy to identify so that wasn’t exciting. This app would be so awesome to if it could recognize potassium, nitrogen, and magnesium deficiencies. It would be even better if it said, “This is a magnesium deficiency. Add epsom salt....” or something like that. **Developer response:** Thank you for your detailed review. We are currently working on the next update. This will include a dictionary of diseases and pest and how to prevent / treat them. We are also adding a plant specific section and feeding our model with more pictures to increase the accuracy.
