### 5/5 — Love this Plant Monitor & App

*2022-06-30, version 1.2.6*

I bought these plant monitors after seeing them mentioned in an article written for those of us with Brown Thumbs. Actually my thumbs are plant killer thumbs because I over water (because of fear I'm under watering), over fertilize (because of fear I'm under fertilizing), and giving the plant too much shade, too much sun or not enough of either. Yes, these monitors handle all of this data for me & tell me when to add water, fertilizer, sun, shade or heat! Love, love, these monitors & this app.

So if you are a Brown Thumb plant killer like me, this is the answer to your problems. So far every plant I have used these monitors & app with are thriving! Thanks North!! Now, could please update your app in the Apple Store! Just want to make sure it will still work when Apple rolls out iOS 16. Thanks again!!!

### 2/5 — Outdated

*2021-06-02, version 1.2.6*

Been two years since last update. No longer compatible with the current iOSs. A shame since I love the hardware (plant device) part of the package. It takes two to tango. It does with with my rarely used iPhone 6+ tho.

### 4/5 — So far so good

*2020-05-24, version 1.2.6*

So far it’s working well. I’ve been using it for about a week and have not had any connectivity issues. Unless I’ve missed it would be great to get notifications if your plants are outside of the set parameters.

### 5/5 — User friendly!

*2020-01-31, version 1.2.6*

I love that the database has pictures! It’s easy to read and it’s pretty huge.

### 1/5 — Update failed

*2019-12-09, version 1.2.6*

Keeps asking me to update then will not allow me to update.

### 1/5 — App crashes

*2019-10-29, version 1.2.6*

Have had a very difficult time with this app!
Either not being able to connect to the sensor, crashes just after it connects or when I got to look at the data for the sensor it crashes!!

### 1/5 — Can't sign up

*2019-10-13, version 1.2.6*

Can't sign up, can't use device. They are tied together. Returning device as a mom working app makes it unusable

### 5/5 — Awesome

*2019-04-12, version 1.2.6*

Overall a great app that works better than expected. Intuitive interface and easy to setup. I can see a lot of efforts has been put in plant search functionality. But still It needs a lot of improvement!
So far I am pretty happy with this. For the first time in my life I might be able to keep my plants from dying!

### 1/5 — Won’t let me make an account

*2019-03-25, version 1.2.6*

Won’t let me make an account. Every time I try it says “request failed please check network” the app also won’t let me sign in with google. I sign in and it just takes me back to the login page.

### 5/5 — Incredible technology - it’s like talking to your plant

*2019-03-11, version 1.2.6*

OVERALL, this is a wonderful system for tracking your plants. The hardware sensors, when mixed with the app, allow you to track your plant’s sunlight, water, soil fertility, and temp, just as it says. While the app isn’t perfect, this is still an incredible use of technology. It’s seriously amazing. For years, I thought of myself as someone with a brown thumb, but after recently discovering a joy for houseplants, I realized plants are the freakin best. I like that this app helps me understand my babies better, ha.

QUICK TIP: for anyone (like me) who has a bunch of houseplants at home and wants to keep track of all of them... without, of course, spending too much for the sensors: I got mine at Walmart (online purchase) and they were around 6 bucks each. At this price point i have one for all 15 of my plants, plus a few extras for backups and gifts.

GRIPES
A couple minor gripes that will probably be fixed soon through an update:
1) The scaling on the reports is a bit buggy. This part of the app could definitely use a minor design pass to clean up the interface. For example, in the daily report, the sunlight graph appears like the plant is receiving little light (units measured in mmol, but the scaling is weird). After switching over to the weekly graph, however, the chart now shows the plant is receiving plenty of light. Also, the temperature in the weekly reports is always maxed out with full bars. It should be somewhere in the center depending on the temp. Both of these can be fixed with a small design revision, mostly the balancing of the bar graph display.
2) I wish the home screen allowed me to easily reorder my plants. It’s in the order that I added the sensors, which isn’t necessarily how I’d prefer to display them when I open the app
3) When you open up to a particular plant’s home screen, it displays a stock photo in the background. This seems like a waste of space. My eye quickly grew tired of that image, even though it’s fine as an image. What we *really* want to see here is a visual display of our plants overall health. We see the numbers, yes, but it’d be much better from a UX point of view if there was a slider which gave a quick indicator of the four stats (light, water, temp, soil). For example, for the stat “soil moisture”, there’s a horizontal chart which has red on the left side (too dry) and blue on the right side (too much water), and there’s an arrow in the green center indicating that the plant’s current moisture level is within the healthy range. Subtle colors, not ugly ones please :)

IN CONCLUSION this system is super cool. It works. My plants are better for it. I hope they continue to update the app, and give it a moderate design overhaul (developers message me with questions). This could seriously be the future of houseplant care. Well done, North!!
