## What is Plant Observation Journal?

Get to know your plants through what you actually notice, photograph and water.

Plant Observation Journal keeps a private, offline record for each plant. Make a shelf of plant names, room labels and pot notes, then build a dated history at your own pace.

NOTICE AND RECORD
Log a moisture observation with an optional photo and note. Record actual watering separately, with a known amount or an honest “unknown.” Switch between milliliters and U.S. fluid ounces without rewriting your stored quantities.

COMPARE TWO DATES
Choose any two photo observations for the same plant. Adjust their square framing, position and rotation, reset when needed, and save named comparisons. Your original files stay in your journal. Matching frames does not measure growth or normalize lighting and scale.

LOOK BACK, THEN DECIDE
See actual watering dates, known-volume totals and incomplete amounts. After at least three observed intervals, see their median and sample size. This describes your history; it does not recommend a watering schedule.

CHOOSE WHEN TO INSPECT
Set your own next inspection date and interval. Optional local notifications remind you to look. Snoozing or completing an inspection never marks a plant watered. iOS controls notification delivery; inspection dates remain visible in the app.

MAKE A CLEAR HANDOFF
Select plants, dates, notes, location labels, photos and your own care instructions for a printable PDF. Preview it before sharing. A separate complete backup includes original photos and journal data, with validated import and explicit merge, skip or copy choices.

START YOUR WAY
Begin with an empty shelf or explore a clearly labeled fictional Monstera sample with synthetic photos. Use light or dark appearance, larger system text and button-based photo controls.

One paid download includes all features. No subscription, in-app purchases, ads, account or developer analytics. Core journaling works offline; support links and cloud Photos or Files providers may require a connection. Export backups to protect your records. This app does not identify plants, diagnose problems or supply automatic care advice. Plant care decisions remain yours. Public support and privacy information are available on our website.
