I have built a sunroom on the back of my CapeCod style home. I have a natural habitat in front and a partly shady front porch. I love plants, trees, shrubs, ground covers, flowers, succulents and orchids. This app helps me identify plant gifts and gives great care instructions. Helps me determine if my watering is optimal or not. My only complaint is the identifier doesn’t always have the right name/cultivar in its registry, which forces me to pick the wrong one and do a “name change” afterwards. I’d rather just create my own if it’s not in your list. Also, it would be nice if you added a search bar where I could type in the plant I’m looking for in my list, rather than having to scroll through the entire list to find one plant (I probably have more than most, so maybe this is just something that bugs me). Lastly, it would be great if more than one person could have access to the account at the same time, even for a fee. When I travel I hire a plant sitter and it would be great to just give her my account info so she could download the app and see the schedule on her phone. Right now I would have to uninstall the app off my phone for her to use it, and that’s very inconvenient. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — LOVE this App! *2026-08-09, version 1.150* I’ve saved the cost of this app just from the plants I’ve saved and haven’t had to replace! We had some landscaping done in our yard and I was able to figure out why my Bird of Paradise plants weren’t doing well. The app told me they were underwatered. Sure enough, with daily watering (I’m in Florida), they’re doing much better! And my orchid is blooming again, something I’ve had trouble with in the past. This app SAVES me money since I don’t make mistakes! ### 1/5 — Not very helpful *2026-08-08, version 1.150* I took photos of a few pond plants and it recommended that I add fungicides to treat “brown spots” due to too much moisture on my floating water lettuce. The app clearly did not recognize that this very common plant lives in water! It also said that my water lily (which is potted at the bottom of my fish pond) has “medium watering requirements” and wanted to remind me to water it every four days even though it correctly identified the plant. It was catastrophic! I lost not only the initial plant as well the other rose bushes. Plant parent gave me all kinds of “overwatering”, needs fertilizers when the plant had a fungal disease that was immediately diagnosed by other AIs. I m so very disappointed. Another problem I’ve encountered is I’m growing tomatoes and there’s a caterpillar eating it and the suggestion it made was not to water it frequently. Not a hint about how to treat it. Plant Parent charges for a full year.
