## What is Plant Points?

Plant Points helps you to make sure you have 30 different plants in a week. Studies have shown that people who eat 30 different plants per week are more likely to have good bacteria in their gut. Making sure you eat enough can be a challenge, can you remember what you had for breakfast last Tuesday? Plant Points can take the hassle out of remembering what you have eaten and ensuring a varied diet.

With Plant Points you can easily keep track of your weekly plants. You can log any plant you eat and if it’s a full portion, a tea or seasoning. You then get a score for the days points and your score for the week. Plant Points also keeps track of your streak, quickly see how long you have managed to maintain eating enough plants for a healthy gut.

How it works:
- Log every plant you eat during the day
- You get a point for each unique plant you have eaten
- 1/4 point for a seasoning or tea
- Goal is to have 30 points or more for the week

Plant Points will even give you helpful suggestions of plants you have not even or other ways to meet your goals.

Regularly eat meals that have the same collection of plants? You can create meals in the app that you can quickly add all the plants at once. No need to add 5+ plants individually each time you have a bolognese sauce.

Is it hard to remember to make a note of things? With Plant Points you can set helpful reminders to add your plants after every meal.

Plant Points has an achievement system to help keep you motivated on your health journey.

Modern app design. Choose from light mode or dark mode. You can even change the app colour (if green isn’t your favourite).

This app takes your privacy very seriously. All the data entered into the app is stored on your device. We couldn’t sell your information even if we wanted to. The app does track app usage data, this is limited to what City you are in and what pages you have looked at. This is optional and can be turned off at any time.

### 2/5 — Great app but no longer has free version

*2026-06-08, version 1.5.1*

Really loved this app but now I can’t use it for free with adverts? It now requires me to pay :(

### 5/5 — Amazing app developer

*2026-06-02, version 1.5.1*

Genuinely useful product and not riddled with adverts like so many other apps - thank you for putting the users first.

### 4/5 — Good but could be better

*2026-03-03*

This app is basically exactly what i was looking for. It’s very simple and it tracks well. I like the visual of having the numbers so forefront. It has helped me immensely with tracking and helped me eat more plants. When i started this challenge i was tracking just in my notes app which was very inconvenient.

I also love the “plant suggestion” at the bottom. Would be nice to add recipes in here somewhere.

The biggest issue i have with this app, is that it feels unfinished. There are a LOT of missing plants. Whole wheat isn’t even an option. Of course, you can add your own, but I’m doing it quite often.

I do wish there were more options for filtering data or to generate stats. I’d love to know my most common plants or get some sort of tally.

Overall a good app if you just want to use it for keeping record. I enjoy it and i bought the membership because it works well for me. There’s just definitely ways it could be better.

### 5/5 — UPDATED Paid Subscription Erases Streaks

*2026-01-24*

ETA- Seems to have corrected itself as devs said!

I’ve been diligently logging my plants every day for nearly a month but have occasionally forgotten to log my dinner. I decided to pay for the subscription so that I could add my dinner the next morning even though I always far exceed 5 plants a day. Well apparently making use of this “premium feature” erases your streaks! And I paid for the privilege! I can understand if the streaks are erased when no logging has occurred but I met all of the criteria even without going back to add my forgotten dinner and still my streaks have been completely reset. What a massive disappointment.

**Developer response:** Sorry to hear that happened. I will investigate and fix any issues so it doesn’t happen to anyone else. Sometimes it’s because the device is full and there is no room for the additional information.

The streaks should recalculate. If you continue using the app normally it should re-count. If it doesn’t please contact support so I can assist you further Alexander@everettappdevelopment.com

### 3/5 — Missing plants

*2025-12-09*

Functions well, but I couldn’t even enter all my foods on the first day of using it: collards, lettuce, arugula, and SOY of all things are not options!!

**Developer response:** You can add any food you want into the app. Type them into the search and an add button appears at the end of the list. It wasn’t possible to have all the plants and colour variations in existence. There are 26 kinds of lettuce. Translating that into multiple languages would be very expensive, this helps the app remain low cost

### 2/5 — So many fruits and vegetables are missing…

*2025-12-08*

Avocado, cucumber, pickles, all the lettuces… I’ve only had this app for a few days and every day I’m having to type in custom plants.

**Developer response:** You only have to add them once, I’m sure your database will be complete soon. The app is in many languages, it costs a lot of money for translation, so thousands of possible plants was not possible sorry. There’s 26 lettuces. Also pickles are cucumbers

### 3/5 — Paid Subscription Erases Streaks

*2025-11-17*

### 5/5 — Perfect Little App

*2025-11-01*

It surprises me how often I haven't eaten any veg, and encourages me to increase variety. Thank you!🌱💕

### 2/5 — Etwas unübersichtlich

*2025-09-20, version 1.2.6*

Was bedeuten die farbig unterlegten Quadrate oben?

Schade!

## Frequently asked questions about Plant Points

### What does the Plant Points app do?

Plant Points helps you track the variety of plant-based foods you eat each week to promote better gut health. It allows you to log each plant consumed, assigns points based on portion size and type (full portion, tea, or seasoning), and provides daily and weekly scores.

### How do I earn points in Plant Points?

You earn points by logging the different plants you eat. A full portion of a plant typically earns one point, while a tea or seasoning earns 1/4 point. The goal is to accumulate 30 or more points per week by consuming at least 30 unique plants.

### Is Plant Points free to use?

The app is free to download and use, with options for in-app purchases. This suggests that while core tracking functionality is available for free, certain features or enhancements might require a purchase.

### What are the benefits of using Plant Points?

Using Plant Points can help you ensure you are eating a diverse range of plants, which studies suggest is linked to better gut bacteria. The app provides helpful suggestions, meal saving options, reminders, and an achievement system to keep you motivated on your health journey.

### How does Plant Points handle my data privacy?

The app prioritizes user privacy by storing all entered data directly on your device. It explicitly states that your information cannot be sold. Optional app usage data, like city and pages viewed, is tracked but can be turned off at any time.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.6.2 — 2026-08-28

New plants added to the database

### 1.6.1 — 2026-07-30

This release makes it easier to give feedback directly in the app. I want to hear from you what would make it easier for you to use the app and have it support you in eating 30 plants per week.

### 1.6.0 — 2026-06-29

This version includes a massive enhancement to the way meals are created within the app. You can now enter the URL of a recipe and download it to the app. It will then pick out what plants are included automatically. The app will remember the link to the recipe so you can access them again later.

The new meals screen tells you how many points each meal will give you this week. Helping you answer the question "what should we have for dinner tonight?"

### 1.5.1 — 2026-06-02

Plant Points no longer has advertising supported usage. Unfortunately showing adverts does not result in enough revenue to keep supporting it in the app. To increase revenue from advertising I would need to provide more of your data to our advertising partners. I took the decision to better protect your privacy. This also reduces the size of the app on your phone as all the code required to support the adverts has been removed.

### 1.4.3 — 2026-05-17

Minor bug fixes
