### 1/5 — Waste of time

*2016-07-10, version 1.8.3*

Don't bother with this app

### 1/5 — No good

*2016-06-17, version 1.8.3*

Deleted this app. They don't respond, not worth your time to download

### 1/5 — Didn't work

*2016-06-04, version 1.8.3*

I responded to myself just so someone would... I joined a Plant Identification group on Facebook and had an accurate answer in about a minute. Tried more plants and same thing: zero response here, FB had a accurate one within minutes. Guess I don't need an app.

### 2/5 — Not good layout

*2016-04-20, version 1.8.3*

There's no way for you to see the pictures u've posted. It's a mess

### 1/5 — Waste of time

*2015-07-25, version 1.7*

Not only are my plants I post not ever addressed, as I look at all the photos that are posted there is rarely a plant identified. Unless app!

### 1/5 — Useless!

*2015-06-01, version 1.7*

I posted a picture...it was never identified. My experience is the picture is just out there for the general public to see and maybe identify, but there is no one with any "credentials" to give you an answer. I looked at tons of other photos others had posted...I'm no flower expert, but there were many common things that weren't identified either...roses, ferns, common annuals and perennials...that you see in garden centers all the time...things that even I knew what they were. So to me, this app is somewhat of a joke.

### 1/5 — Waste of time

*2014-08-24, version 1.7*

I took the time to install this app, create a profile, uploaded a picture, and waited for half an hour. My plant was never identified. Save your time and headache don't install this app.

### 2/5 — Abandoned App

*2014-07-14, version 1.0*

It appears as though the developers have abandoned this app or they are entirely dependent on the users to do the identification? The UI could use improving. It would be nice if once you enlarge the image you could swipe or click to the next image enlarged. Creating that function would probably make it more likely that users would interact and identify at least the plants that they knew since the view if the image would be easier to view on a smartphone!

### 1/5 — Don't bother

*2014-07-05, version 1.0*

A very cool idea for an app, unfortunately this app does not deliver.

### 1/5 — No go

*2014-06-11, version 1.0*

My pic did not come with any answers, and I saw lots and lots of other pics from others contain zero answers. Poo.

### 1/5 — Disappointed

*2014-05-19, version 1.0*

Well, weeks later and still no answer to my mystery plant. It seems I am. It the only one in this situation. They obviously can't keep up. I'm deleting the app.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Doesn't work in iPhone

*2023-06-02*

sounded good but won't open - just hangs
iphone is current and have tried deleting and reloading app

### 1/5 — Please fix it

*2020-04-28, version 2.4.1*

Use to work now all I get now is a message that the app is loading. Not sure what happened but please fix it.

### 1/5 — You stink

*2020-03-23, version 2.4.1*

Took several pictures of common plants and it could not identify.

Terrible

### 1/5 — Wrong aspect ratio for iPhone

*2019-05-06, version 2.4.1*

I love this app. HOWEVER, now I can only select Netherlands in language and take picture, rather than English and choose from Album, because the display is completely off for iPhone.

Can someone help to update the app?

### 1/5 — Sounds great, but it isn't.

*2017-07-07, version 1.9*

You take a picture of your mysterious plant and upload it to the app. Then it is displayed amongst about a hundred other pictures of mysterious plants. That is about as far is it goes! If you actually get a response to your picture you are pretty lucky.

### 1/5 — Bad

*2017-05-30, version 1.9*

No good

### 1/5 — Not all it's cracked up to be

*2017-05-29, version 1.9*

I read that this was A top ten app to help identify plants. I installed and had to register twice before it fully let me in. The app is based on the idea someone else has the same app and likes to identify plants. Well that's true if you show a picture of a bloom someone seems able to identify it, but a lot of people have a picture of a leaf or non bloomed flower and there no responses to them. I am still searching for what the plant is that is in my yard.

### 1/5 — Not for the knowledgeable gardener

*2017-04-23, version 1.9*

This may be OK for someone who doesn't have a clue. But there is no expert back there figuring out the rarer things. The common plants aren't being identified. I was very disappointed. It is like asking the neighbors if they ever saw one like this. Even a good garden center would have more expertise. My suggestion is that the developer get some trained botanists and plant professionals to do the identification. This should NOT be guesses and opinion, but real scientific fact that can be backed up. That is getting harder to find in every area, not just botany. Sorry I joined.

### 1/5 — Need account to get an answer.

*2016-09-27, version 1.8.3*

Title says all.

### 1/5 — Macadoo

*2016-08-19, version 1.8.3*

Waste of time. Even leaving a review is a drill

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Very helpful if not perfect

*2018-04-22, version 2.2*

I'm not a horticulturalist, just a garden-variety plant lover, and this app is fun. I saw an unusual tree/bush on my walk that looked a little like a dogwood but not quite. It got identified quickly as a dogwood. Good enough for me.

### 5/5 — fast! great app. [:

*2015-04-18, version 1.7*

if your plant isn't to tropical or unknown, I think you'll get a review in 10-30 minutes, who knows maybe even 5?! I've posted multipul and got all reviews on what my plant was! thanks!

### 5/5 — Works Great

*2014-05-20, version 1.0*

I think it's an easy to use app (little outdated; would love it to be ios 7 and some minor fixes) and I got a response that was definitely the flower I posted. I was unable to find the flower until that answer so I'm very impressed.

### 4/5 — Fun and informative

*2015-10-31, version 1.7*

Not really geared towards house plants, but my photo was identified within a day and there are lots of great photos to study and learn.

### 4/5 — Love!

*2013-09-08, version 1.0*

What an easy way to figure out what plants are! It's fast and simple to use:) definitely would recommend

### 3/5 — Needs update for phone platform optimization

*2018-11-24, version 2.4.1*

I love this app, the community has helped me identify so many plants! But the most recent update made it not very compatible for my iPhone, causing half the buttons to not be on the screen, thus my app is stuck in Dutch because I can only select the Netherlands region although I live in the US. Please fix this glitch with another update so that I may enjoy using this app once again! I’d give it 5 stars if this glitch was fixed!

### 3/5 — Answering

*2018-11-14, version 2.4.1*

I get how to upload a photo & wait for an answer, but how do I answer? It doesn’t seem to work. No directions for this app.

### 2/5 — Won’t load on iPhone anymore

*2023-06-15*

Useless now. I did like it before that happened.

### 2/5 — Good idea - poor execution

*2017-07-15, version 1.9*

There seem to be not enough users identifying plants to make a solid match. I have tried submitting numerous times, as well as putting my ideas on other's. Several months later and I still have no answers and I have also seen many that are incorrectly labeled.

### 2/5 — Needs Work

*2017-03-28, version 1.9*

This app has potential and a community of knowledgable people is helpful. That said, there is only the general public IDing plants and, because they are not experts, their answers are wrong or overly broad. There is no way to edit answers and the zoom in feature is a joke. It has potential and is worth a shot if you don't know a plant. Just google answers yourself to double check what you have been told.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback. Also check the website www.plantifier.com, where you have more options.
