### 4/5 — Generally great with a significant flaw.

*2026-06-26, version 5.01.24*

I love the app; it’s a 5-Star augmentation to a background in horticulture and forestry.

The only problem is that it doesn’t work with poor connection. I usually need help identifying plants in the woods, and PlantSnap can fail there.

### 3/5 — Not 100% accurate

*2026-04-22, version 5.01.24*

Just like the title suggests! Many times, it’s not even close!

### 4/5 — Lily

*2026-01-12, version 5.01.23*

What kind of Lily?

### 2/5 — Norway pine

*2023-05-28, version 5.01.08*

Identification is pathetic

### 1/5 — Plant Snap Pro review

*2023-01-12, version 5.01.08*

Out of 8 plants in good light 2 were only identified in the second choice, 1 in the 5th choice. Couldn’t even identify tomato or aloe Vera therefor don’t waste your money

### 1/5 — It’s a waste of money.

*2022-10-19, version 5.01.08*

I was constantly running into issues with PlantSnap. It didn’t matter how clear it was or what angle I got, it would miss diagnose every single plant - not even getting near the right plant family. If your dependent on survival and you have a water hemlock before you and PlantSnap shows you that you got a wild carrot, what’s the chance of you digging that root up an cooking it because PlantSnap says it’s a wild carrot?
So if you’re a city guy looking to do country things, this app is not for you because if you don’t know the difference you can die. It’s dangerous because of how in accurate it is and it’s a waste of money.******************
To solve this issue get a book for wherever region you’re living in that has pictures and details about each plant you have in question. It needs to have all the stages of growth and a detailed use for each plant, with all the warnings and precautions including look-a-likes and certain smells and odors that comes from the edible version versus the non-edible highly toxic version and it’s characteristics. *************
Do your research, don’t trust some on the fly App!!!************************************

### 1/5 — Linda descrição, mas na prática...

*2022-09-24*

### 1/5 — This app can’t even detect a pepper plant

*2022-09-01, version 5.01.08*

I’ll keep this review short but this app does not work in my experience. I’ve used it to try and detect a few common garden plants like watermelon, pumpkin, and pepper plant. The app will give me 50 plants that it could be and none of them are anywhere near right. I notice that most of them are ornamental plants so I’d guess that’s what this app is targeted at. Either way, it’s not worth spending money on

### 1/5 — PlantSnap has gone downhill

*2022-08-22, version 5.01.08*

I often use PlantSnap to confirm what I think a plant is. It has been 100% correct until the last update. Since then, it has been wrong about 60-70% of the time. So very frustrating. This evening I submitted a clear picture of a Himalayan Blue Poppy, and PlantSnap got the poppy right, but not the kind of poppy. How many poppies are blue? I have sent e-mails and received standard for replies. I hope they fix this soon.
Now, PlantSnap is wrong 100% of the time.

### 1/5 — Has really fallen to a new low.

*2022-08-19, version 5.01.08*

This app used to work a year or two ago, and I purchased the paid version because of this. At some point they must have just stopped working to improve the app and let it go, because it can’t even identify basic and super common plants like Pothos or Azaleas. In my opinion this app has gone from being one of my favorites to completely useless. I’ll be deleting it after I submit this review.

### 1/5 — Disappointing

*2022-08-09, version 5.01.08*

I have used this app at multiple gardens and around the city
Only recognized 2 of the dozens were correct.

### 1/5 — Error, error, error

*2022-08-06, version 5.01.08*

Every time I try to save a type of flower, it says an error occurs.

### 2/5 — Difficult to identify a maple tree…

*2022-07-27, version 5.01.08*

This app seems to offer suggestions only. I have never had a definite identification, even a clear picture of a maple leaf results in suggestions that are way off with no correct answer.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — What happed - no longer works

*2026-08-08, version 5.01.24*

I def to enjoy using PlantSnap. But now it appears to be broken. What happened?

### 1/5 — No longer working

*2026-05-28, version 5.01.24*

Stopped working

### 1/5 — Downgrade

*2024-08-07, version 5.01.08*

Original version of this app (before “bubbles”) was fantastic. This version appears to be a joke. Calling Queen Anne’s lace crepe Myrtle is funny, I guess.

### 1/5 — Won't let me save my snaps

*2024-07-29, version 5.01.08*

😔

### 1/5 — Number of correct answers very low

*2023-10-09, version 5.01.08*

3 wrong today.

### 1/5 — Never correct, not user-friendly

*2023-05-19, version 5.01.08*

I’m about to remove this app from my iPhone. It wastes my time with wild guesses instead of accurate identifications of plants in the field. I actually do far better by snapping a picture with my iPhone and using the GOOGLE identifier.

This disappoints me. I’d like to be able to pull out my iPhone, open the app, and instantly get good identification of a plant species, just as I can get very rapid ID of bird songs around me using the Merlin Bird app.

Maybe someday…

### 1/5 — Booo

*2023-03-27, version 5.01.08*

When I first got this app a couple years ago, it was awesome. Now it can’t even identify the most common plants, and says plants are sick when they’re not. What happened? Glad I didn’t re subscribe and sad they let this app go to 🗑️🚮

### 1/5 — Always wrong.

*2023-03-27, version 5.01.08*

I have had PlantSnap Pro for several years. If it ever identified a plant correctly, I am unaware of it.

### 1/5 — Disappointed

*2023-03-18, version 5.01.08*

I’ve only ever have gotten three plants right with this thing. Some of my photos were of apples form the store and the app gets them wrong. I live in the hardy zone of 6b and gives me tropical plants for any local pictures I take. The app is all but useless.

### 1/5 — Does not work!!!

*2023-01-20, version 5.01.08*

I’ve tried four different plants and it has not once got it right, not even close, hopeless!

*2023-06-28, version 5.01.08*
