So like I had mentioned , I had downloaded the app to see if I could find the recipe that I was going to create tonight. The recipe was from the first recipe book. It was not listed in the app. Unless I am not looking in the right place. Someone please correct me if I am wrong. I am a huge fan of the first book. A few I have cross referenced on the website and they are complete there, but I’d rather just search the recipes there for free. I just downloaded it but am already bummed…every recipe I click on shows the same steps for one single recipe: Crispy Tofu Meal Prep Bowl. I’m not sure if it’s because that was the first one I clicked on, or if that just happens to be the recipe it’s stuck on. Maybe this is just a glitch but I definitely wouldn’t pay for this app when I can’t even see any of the recipes besides Crispy Tofu Meal Prep Bowl (which sounds delicious but I kinda need to know how to make the other ones too!) Update: I received a response from the developer stating they’d fixed some bugs, so I decided to download the app again. I entered my email and clicked “forgot password” because I couldn’t remember what it was. I got a message saying there’s no account with that email. So I tried to create a new account and it says “an account with this email already exists.” I just keep going in circles. Very sad I still can’t access any content! ### 2/5 — App Malfunctions Frequently *2023-10-21* When the app works, the recipes are great, and I love the step-by-step instructions. However, the latest update has NOT fixed the bug with recipe steps. I continue to get steps for a recipe NOT the recipe I clicked on. this morning alone I deleted the app and re-loaded it three times to try and correct the problem. Not only that but I’ll see recipes on the instagram that I want to try but I can’t find it on the app… which I pay for … thinking about unsubscribing because I don’t think it’s worth 8$ **Developer response:** Hi, Thank you for sharing you concerns. Very, very limited content and recipes, noticed there were a few more paid options. I deleted my account 2 minutes after download because there wasn’t much even offered. I also noticed the app reset their reviews, so all the honest (albeit negative) reviews are being hidden by the developers, which just makes me feel certain that deleting the app was the move. ### 2/5 — App requires subscription *2023-06-10, version 1.14* I absolutely love love the recipe book and am excited for the meal planner. However, in app purchases are expected to be free with option for ‘in app purchases’. This isn’t available. You still have to provide payment information and pay after 7 day free trial. I’m looking forward to the opportunity to use the app and when I can receive what is expected from the description and be given the option to opt in. ### 4/5 — Amazing for recipes and food inspo! *2023-05-28* I followed the creator of this app for a while on social media before coming to her app. (In all honesty, I didn’t know it existed! I love this app for what it is. It gives you so many different recipes to try and is fairly easy to use. My only suggestion would be that the app has more detailed steps in their cooking process. A lot of the times I find myself referring to the video that’s posted on instagram to see how she does it step by step. For example, the picture of the recipe shows diced tomatoes but the steps don’t include any prep work. Which might seem redundant but as someone who needs extra clarification on recipes that would really help! There are probably 5 recipes you can choose from that’s free. All the others require a monthly subscription. I was hoping to try the meal plans and shopping list out before I dedicate close to $100/year on a subscription. I’ll stick to Mealime as they have lots of vegan options. ### 1/5 — Don’t bother *2024-04-18* So glad I made up a fake email to sign up. There’s absolutely no point downloading this app if you’re not prepared to pay for a subscription. There’s no trial, no way to test the functionality of the app. What a scam. This lady pisses me off. I’d like to see how it works before committing to a subscription, and was excited that I’d get a small sneak peek. This should be transparent before downloading the app. ### 1/5 — Won’t recognize my account *2023-01-19, version 1.11.0* I subscribed for 6 months, I was signed in and I ended up switching phones, now I cannot get in to the app at all. It won’t register that I even have an account now. ### 1/5 — This is my third time reviewing this app *2023-01-14* The first time I reviewed it. It would not let you in unless you paid! Then I was asked by the developer to amend my rating and check out the app with its new features. And so I did. It seemed like I had some recipes I could look at, and it was pretty cool. So I gave it a great rating. But now, I can’t sign in and get into the app at all unless I say I forgot my password word. Then they send me a link and it allows me to go straight into the app. But if I sign out of the app and try to go back in then I’m blocked from going in by a pop-up that gives me choices of payment and I can’t really get into the app again unless I say I forgot my password then i can get in. I emailed support and they said I wouldn’t receive one until January. What was the point of paying for December if I didn’t receive the monthly meal plan for that month. It is January 8 and I still never received the meal plan. ### 1/5 — Can't even try it? *2023-01-01, version 1.0* Ugh what a drag. Would've been nice to get like a free week trial to see if I actually like it and will use it. In my PhD I found that increasing the variety of plants in our diet can increase mood and decrease the symptoms of depression. The PlantYou Planner and PlantYou social media feed are the perfect partners for those who want to increase the number and variety of plants they are eating - whether or not you follow a plant-based diet. The recipes are fun, easy and made from ingredients you can find in your home or at the local supermarket. Start your day with one of the vibrant, fresh smoothies, a cauliflower Mac cheese, or a plant only tiramisu. You are going to love the flavour packed into these wonderful recipes and you may just start to feel the benefits to your mood and mental health. I had one issue with a glitch that customer service was quick to fix as well. This planner is NOT one that requires you to put a meal in a slot for each day. It’s has categories for the week: breakfast, lunch/dinner, snacks, and dessert. This is how I plan so it’s perfect for me. I don’t want to hav to figure out what I’m going to make n 4 days at 11am. I just ant a list that I know I’m prepared to make. Most things are less than 30 minutes as well. I actually really like the shopping list as well. The app has 100s of recipes for you to dig in to, but it’s not the most user friendly at the moment. When looking through all the recipes, if you select a recipe to favourite, it will send you back to the Home Screen, so can be quite a long process for you to favourite you meals and after a short while it will stop showing recipes at all which can make it unusable and there is no support email to contact to report issues in the help section. I think the recipes are fantastic, but it is a steep price point when the app makes it harder to meal plan than using a pen and paper.
