## What is Plask?

Plask (Swedish for "splash") turns your Apple Watch into a tiny aquatic theatre.

Pixel-art rubber ducks paddle around while you bathe or swim. On a watch with a depth sensor (Apple Watch Ultra, any generation, or Apple Watch Series 10 and later) the scene reacts to your real depth: ducks dive when you do, with your live depth, max depth and water temperature at the bottom of the screen.

The water's temperature shows up in the scene itself. Cold enough and the surface ices over, scarves come out and breath fogs in the air; hot enough and it steams, bubbles and everyone lounges. Ordinary bathing water looks exactly as it always has — the reactions are saved for an ice hole or a hot tub.

On watches with a depth sensor, Plask can even open on its own the moment you get in the water. Enable it under Settings > General > Auto-Launch > When Submerged, and the app walks you through the steps.

On dry land? Tap "Try a Dive" and drive the water with the Digital Crown from the couch.

Every swim is also on the record: Kungliga Badverket, the (fictional) Royal Swedish Bath Authority, issues pixel-art certificates for your aquatic accomplishments — depth, duration, cold water, dawn dips and stranger things. Earn hats for your duck. Browse it all in Arkivet, your trophy room. Certificates sync through iCloud, so a new watch keeps your archive.

The water has a temperature now, and the ducks have opinions about it.

• Cold water freezes the scene over. Ice closes across the surface with a hole cut around each duck, scarves come out, breath fogs, snow falls, and the aurora turns up if it feels like it.
• Hot water steams. Ducks float on their backs among the jacuzzi bubbles and refuse to do anything useful.
• Every scene reacts in character: the shark keeps its own channel open in the ice, Nessie's braes go white, the aquarium heater glows, the jellyfish bloom, and the surströmming ferments noticeably faster.
• Ordinary bathing water looks exactly as it always did. The reactions are saved for water that genuinely is an ice hole or a hot tub — worth finding out in person.

Temperaturenheten, the Authority's new Temperature Unit, has filed its first three certificates — including one for surviving both extremes inside a single week. Vinterbadare now also earns your duck a knitted mössa. That brings the archive to 45.
