But I just discovered that the app doesn't work on my new iPad Pro. There's no line to show key frames and transitions in existing animations and no way to add new key frames in new projects. It's awesome that apps a like these have made simple animation possible for so many hobbyists, but it's also frustrating how many of them end up being abandoned, perhaps because the developers just didn't understand the needs of their customer base. For another take on the "bones" type of character rigging, try StickMotion (but read the help pages, as the app is fairly sophisticated), or just have fun messing around with StickNodes Pro, which is simple and easy to use. ### 3/5 — IPad Air 2 problem *2016-06-23, version 1.5.2* I like the app exept the key fram doesn't work for my iPad Air2 please fix Idek what is or isn't suppose to work but please fix it... ### 2/5 — Soundtrack support only available when sharing *2016-06-20, version 1.5.2* I could really use a soundtrack that I can scrub while creating my animation for timing. I move the dots and press play then nothing happens, I move the timeline nope, I press the plus on the timeline nope, I would give a five star if I could find out how to work the animating. Key frames are no longer visible in - and you cannot scrub - the timeline. Now that Toonz is open source perhaps Digital Video can invest the time and resources to create a professional animation package for iOS. ### 2/5 — DON'T BUY YET!!! I try to make good quality videos but every time I save the video/animation in a higher resolution, such as 1080p, it does not abide to the resolution you picked. So every time I go back into the application to add another animation to a single video, it becomes lower and lower quality. ABANDONED APP *2019-06-03, version 1.5.2* This would have been so useful to me. Too bad they've abandoned it. When you press app support the page is dead. When you go to the developers site they don't even acknowledge it as a product. Really a shame. ### 1/5 — Don't even waste the ink all time and effort it takes to download this. *2016-12-05, version 1.5.2* For myself, and apparently several other iPad users, the timeline doesn't work like it should. I'm unable to visibly see any node,curser, or red line indicating a key frame in the timeline. I also can't scrub any movement I DO manage to accomplish, because the curser can't be moved from its original position at the left side of the timeline. Tried emailing them, and was immediately informed that their domain doesn't exist. The app is jankey, and there's literally no support. Not sure if this has to do with Apple or the developer. I was able to download it and install it on my IPads including the Mini, but after you pay to upgrade it, it takes you money and does nothing. It does not remove the restrictions, it just hangs there. I contacted the developers and did not get any answer. I'm glad it still works on the most up-to-date version of ios. ### 5/5 — Laughed myself foolish with this. *2016-06-08, version 1.5.2* This is fun app, too bad it seems to be abandonware. The Keyframe works in iPad, but it hasn't been updated to iPad Pro, where the keyframe function doesn't seem to work. I wrote tech support, but the email is defunct. I gave it five stars for it's IPad combatability and entertainment value. Works particularly well with pngs made from 3d apps. ### 5/5 — My Favorite Animation App *2014-07-22, version 1.5* I have many animation apps for the iPad, and Plastic is absolutely my favorite. Being able to use pre-made characters is great, but the power really shines when I bring characters I draw or paint in other apps into Plastic, rig them, and then just start animation by moving the bones around. The amount of expressiveness I can get is fantastic, and having real-time playback while I'm animating lets me fine-tune the motion in a really responsive manner. Plastic is stable -- I've rarely had any crashes and never lost any work -- and super easy to use. It really makes the most out of the touch interface. If you're even a little interested in animation, pick up Plastic; it's a surprisingly powerful tool in a very easy-to-use interface. ### 5/5 — Great start for an app that let's you rig bones like I used to in AnimeStudio! *2014-07-20, version 1.5* Bone rigging lets you "morph" raster images (*.png in this case). Samples come with the app if you need an idea of what can be done. Adjust these "rigged" characters or props with key frames on a time-line so that you can create motion that can be exported as video. That is what you get with Plastic. This bring the bone-rigging fun to ipad with intuitive controls and nice features (ease in, bone stretch on or off mode, save rig to a library). If this is the start, I can't wait to see what's next. I have had no problems with performance (iPad Air). ### 5/5 — Amazing App *2014-07-18, version 1.5* This is a wonderful app and I really appreciate the update. Glad to know this app is still being supported by its developers.
