I love this app, it makes splitting meal receipts so easy so I can charge the exact amount on venmo. I saw their most recent update. I think they added a back button, which I appreciate bc previously I had to start all over if I made a mistake. Only one suggestion would be is that I wish they had a toggle for tip to be calculated before or after tax. The app calculates it before tax, but a lot of restaurants I go to calculates the automatic tip button with the tax added on :-( I hate capitalism but nothing I can do to change. I think it would be cool to have a toggle for that. Without it, the total is kinda off. Another suggestion would be to adding a custom tip amount that could be calculated too if possible! Other than that, thank you for this amazing app! ### 3/5 — Where is the share button? *2025-08-04, version 1.4* I keep reading online that you can share it to Splitwise. I can’t figure it out. Also I assigned the names to the plates but you can’t see them in like a type of summary to send out to friends either or even screenshot the end result. I have been doing that then writing the peoples names in using the markup in photos. I feel like that is doing way too much. Use it every time when we go out with friends. The only thing missing that would make it perfect would be if there was a feature where you could take a photo of the receipt & it itemizes everything and then you can drag to the different plates. However it falls short of 5 stars because of some additional features that I wish it had: -ability to split shared items unevenly like 60% 40% for example. splitwise has this feature by percent, part, fraction, and more. -ability to put an exact dollar amount for tip instead of the sliding percentage scale, which only gives you discrete rather than continuous tip options -ability to name the plates cuz it’s easy to forget which plate is for who especially in bigger groups With these updates this app would easily be 5 stars. ### 4/5 — Great app, but needs the option to add names! *2025-01-27, version 1.4* Great app, but when splitting a bi among a large group, it’s hard to keep track of which plate belongs to which person. I often make my tip a certain amount so the end total is a whole dollar (e.g., 12.46 + 2.54 tip = 15, but 20% would be 2.49) and this doesn’t work well with that. ### 4/5 — It helps, but there are some improvements needed *2025-01-09, version 1.4* The app is very helpful when dividing a restaurant bill, especially for a big group, but I suggest that there should be an option to add the tax in percentage as well. This is to make sure it calculates the tax amount based on each person’s subtotal. By just entering the whole tax amount it divides it by the number of people equally. I also wish the names of each person could be added in the plates. ### 4/5 — AWESOME App! *2024-10-31, version 1.4* This app is so great! It’s seamless, easy, and useful. Not to mention it’s visually pleasant! I wish plates could add more plates though. If I have restaurant reservations over 10 people, I have to use a different app. ### 4/5 — Awesome app, SO CLOSE to perfect! *2024-08-04, version 1.4* This app is absolutely amazing at easily dividing portions, dissociation taxes and tip. I love how you can divide by item on your bill, and then further divide items by only some or all of the attendees if shared. It's also great that you can then combine itemized plates for people paying together. I have only two suggestions that would really make this perfect: 1. Allow user to type in tip amount. I regularly calculate 20% and then will round up to the next dollar amount when paying, but this app only has a percentage slider. It also only goes to 25%, and sometimes for exceptional service I exceed way past that. 2. Allow naming of plates. If it's only 2 or 3 people, it's not hard to keep track of who is who, but beyond that can get a little tricky. ### 4/5 — Soooo close to 5 stars! *2024-08-02, version 1.4* This app is nearly perfect and there are 3 things that would make it one of the best apps on iOS. 1. Also, it is pretty unclear if we need to drag the amount in a person’s plate. It took a while to understand that step. Much more was expected from this because it is a product of splitwise. Very disappointed. Also it should not automatically add the tip. It should be given as an option.
