## What is Plates?

Built for smaller appetites — hit your protein floor, not a calorie ceiling.

Plates is a protein-first tracker for anyone whose appetite has gotten smaller — after starting a weight-loss medication, recovering from a surgery, or just naturally eating less than you used to. Instead of a calorie number to stay under, you get a protein floor: a daily minimum that protects your muscle while you eat what you can.

WHAT'S INSIDE
• Protein floor ring — see today's protein at a glance, with exactly how much is left to hit your floor
• Daily appetite check-in — tell us how today feels, and suggestions stay gentle on low-appetite days
• Portion quick-adjust — log a partial meal in one tap (25%, 50%, 75%, 100%) instead of guessing grams
• Every meal shows the bridge to your floor: "You're at 62/90g — 28g to go"
• Weekly floor view — see how many days you hit your floor. Weight moves day to day; your floor is what protects muscle
• Photo, voice & barcode logging — free, every day
• Nutrition data powered by USDA FoodData Central
• Syncs with Apple Health

No red numbers. No guilt trips. Calories are still here — just not the main event.

General guidance, not medical advice. If you're on medication, post-surgery, or managing a condition, review your targets with your clinician.

Plates Plus (optional subscription, coming soon)
Logging by photo, voice and barcode, your protein floor, your daily ring and basic trends are free. Plates Plus will add personalized guidance toward your floor and a weekly summary you can share with your care team. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; manage or cancel in your device's subscription settings.

### 4/5 — Don’t use the ai

*2026-07-10*

It works well, but the ai isn’t there yet, on any calorie app. This app is free and it makes a great food log. One of the days will glitch sometimes and bit show the totals, but it serves its purpose
