## What is Platine?

Platine is a Sonos remote built for Apple Music.

No AirPlay, no re-encoding. Platine tells the speaker what to play; the speaker fetches the track itself, straight from Apple. You can put your device away — the music keeps playing.

■ All of Apple Music
Your library, your playlists, For You, new releases and charts. Search by song, album or artist.

■ Your speakers, your groups
Every speaker in the home is found on the local network. Volume, mute, equalizer, groups — it is all here, including the battery level of portable models.

■ Listening history
What you played, when, and on which speaker. Synced through iCloud across your devices, with no account to create.

■ Sonos favorites
Your existing favorites appear as they are, and a single star adds one from the player.

■ Sleep timer
The speaker's own sleep timer, two taps away instead of buried in a menu.

■ Radio
Live radio stations — France Inter, FIP, RTL… They play straight on the speaker, without going through Apple Music.

■ On iPhone and iPad
A permanent mini player, a full-screen player, and a Home Screen widget showing what is playing. On iPad, the layout takes the room the screen gives it.

■ Control Centre and Siri
Add the "Play / Pause" and "Play a favourite" buttons to Control Centre: the speaker responds without opening the app. Siri can do it too — "Play on Platine".

■ On Apple Watch as well
Playback, volume and next track from your wrist, without taking out your iPhone.

An active Apple Music subscription is required. Apple Music must already be linked to your system in the official Sonos app.

Platine is an independent app published by DAMDAM. It is neither affiliated with nor endorsed or sponsored by Sonos, Inc. or Apple Inc.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.3 — 2026-09-10

Rooms and groups. Play several speakers together, add or detach a room — now from iPhone and Apple TV, not just the Mac.

New: a setting decides whether tapping a track opens the full player or keeps the list on screen.

New: listening history can be cleared from any device.

Apple Music is now recognised on many more Sonos systems. Some were stuck on the setup screen even though everything was properly linked.

Playlists from your library now start in a second instead of a minute.

Volume changed on one device now shows on the others.

Albums show their year, track count and running time, and shuffle is available everywhere.

The queue no longer marks a track you have just moved as already played.

Anything that fails now says so clearly, instead of a technical message in English.

Many translation fixes.

The player closes differently: the artwork travels between the mini player and the turntable instead of vanishing all at once.

Search now says when it finds nothing.

Platine remains free, with no account and no ads.

### 1.2.3 — 2026-09-08

A song started from the middle of a playlist now begins on the right track straight away, and playback no longer jumps back to the start after a few seconds.

“Play Next” really adds what you asked for — including a playlist from your library — and only says so once it's done.

Artwork appears without delay, and the previous track's cover no longer lingers on the new one.

Radio stations show up immediately instead of taking ten seconds, and the Home screen shows your shelves as soon as it opens, with no blank wait.

Volume changed on one device now shows on the others.

Albums show their year, track count and running time, and shuffle is available everywhere.

The queue no longer marks a track you have just moved as already played.

A perfectly valid playlist no longer reports itself as unavailable, and anything that fails now says so instead of staying silent.

The Dynamic Island and the widget show the right artwork and follow track changes; the “next” button no longer wipes it.

Closing the player is smoother, and search now says when it finds nothing.

Stability fixes.

Platine remains free, with no account and no ads.

### 1.2.2 — 2026-09-04

A track started from the middle of a playlist now begins on the right song, straight away. Playback no longer jumps back to the start after a few dozen seconds.

“Play Next” really adds what you asked for — including a playlist from your library — and only says so once it's done.

Artwork now appears without delay in the player bar and on the Lock Screen, and the Dynamic Island no longer shows the previous track's cover.

Lists no longer reload when you come back from another tab.

An artist's album now opens properly, and going back keeps your place on the page.

Radio logos appear immediately.

Platine stays free, with no account and no ads. It now offers, very rarely, a way to support it — and that offer can be turned off for good.

### 1.2.1 — 2026-09-01

Tracks the speaker refuses are no longer refused in silence. Platine spots songs that are not in the Apple Music catalog — a file from your own library, for instance — leaves them out and tells you which ones, instead of an "error 800" that taught you nothing.

The next and previous arrows finally work properly. They respond to the touch, the track changes straight away instead of waiting for the speaker, and the display no longer jumps backwards when you tap several times.

Going back no longer returns to the start. Open a playlist, play a track, go back: you land on the playlist, not on the home screen.

The volume is shown as a percentage, and the slider no longer jumps under your finger.

A track started in the middle of an album or a playlist now carries on with the rest.

The home screen is yours to organise: choose the order of the sections and hide the ones you do not use.

With no speaker in reach, the app is no longer stuck: the search can be interrupted and your choice is remembered.

Platine speaks four more languages — Japanese, Dutch, Korean and Traditional Chinese. Error messages, which had stayed in French until now, are translated too.

The home screen loads faster, and a rare crash in the queue has been fixed.
